Harry's Seafood Grill Ratings and Reviews
New Year’s Eve early dinner. Restaurant was brilliant as usual. Chef Bank’s was very much visible, working hard.
I was disappointed not to see any of the old wait staff there, but that is not a comment on the quality of staff that was present. As always, can’t wait to go back again.
I orig tried to make a 6:30 reservation for Christmas Eve on the web site. It was successful however I wanted to call and verify how late the restaurant was to be open. I was told they didn't know now they were going to handle everyone, so I canceled my reservation. Later I made an earlier time just to be sure I could get in. When I arrived I found they had plenty of room and would have at my original time. To think I was almost talked out of it by the hostess when I called. Next time I'll trust the web site.
This is the second year our office came to Harry's Seafood for our Christmas Lunch. We had Marvin this year just like last. Both years our experience was fantastic. Marvin treats you as family and cares for every detail. Our service was quick and in order. The food was fresh and delicious! Thanks for allowing us to enjoy a great lunch out! Your restaurant and the waterfront are a beautiful part of the experience.
I'd love to see restaurants of your status ask gentlemen to remove their hats -- especially baseball hats. It's a real pet peeve of mine. It was something we noticed on our way out and were bummed to see it. Step up. You have a good reputation. Let them know they should dress and act appropriately. Thanks.
We felt the meals were overpriced: My husband ordered broiled scallops and received no sides with the dish. The dish was priced at $31.00. Our server did not suggest ordering sides which would have increased the bill and her tip as well!! We ordered both of her recommendations. My crab cakes were good but not outstanding . They did come with a salad I could share with my husband and they were priced less than the scallops. Since they were the higher priced fish dishes, I wondered if she was coached to suggest them. The soups and dessert were good. my husband felt the soup portions were skimpy though. Frankly, we get better service and quality for our money at Big Fish Grill.
We enjoyed our pre-theater dinner as usual and our waiter was very accommodating. My crab cakes were exceptional BUT my wife’s rockfish came undercooked and almost raw. Very surprising for a seafood restaurant. The waiter was embarrassed and made sure that the fish was recooked. We were a little surprised that Harry’s did not offer to make it up with a free glass of wine or something similar. While our waiter did offer to get us a desert “on him” if we came back after the play, we that management could have stepped it up a little. If it had been our first visit, we probably would not go back. Knowing Harry’s, we hope that it was just one out of character mistake.
Asked to be seated in a booth instead of where the were initially going to sit us in a table in the middle of the restaurant like we were on display. They said they are booked with reservations for 2 and booth requests and the couldn't accommodate us. This was a 530pm reservation and the restaurant was not busy at all. The two available booths that we saw stayed available our entire 90 minute time there. The service was slow and the attention to US was minimal. We waited at least 20 minutes to get our Bill and have it processed. The food was okay, average and not worth the $120 We spent for 2 to dine. Atmosphere was loud from the kitchen as our table was right in the middle and close to the overly large kitchen entrance. Don't care to see an entire kitchen staff working.
our 1st waitress was great. the shift changed and we had the waitress from the 50's. After we spent $100+ the 2nd shift waitress came to our table and announced that another party was coming in and they needed our table. The restaurant was empty except our table and another table, many open tables. I spoke with a very apologetic manager who tried to fix the situation by sending wine at no cost. I have never been asked to give up my table before and will not go to Harry's again, even if they are changing owners.
From the moment one of the staff came out to open and hold the door for my wife and me, until we left, the service was friendly and knowledgeable. We were never rushed, and the food selections we made were prepared excellently. Our waiter - and I regret not making a note of his name - was trained to inform us about the dishes and to answer any questions we had. a first rate experience.
Food was average to poor...particularly the portions... The server is who saved the night. From the wine recommendations to make sure that we had everything we needed...
Unfortunately I would not see him again since the food experience was less than desirable...
I had dined with Harry’s Savoy last year for my anniversary, so thought of trying here this year. And I am glad I made that choice of trying another kind of food. The bread with crab and artichoke dip was a tad bit more toasted so that roof over tongue has become tender. Both me and my hubby had the same experience, which lasted couple days. I would recommend toasting the bread a level lesser. I ordered mule, which felt that it could do with a little more of the ginger beer. Rest of the food we had was exceptional and the kids portion was right sized. For those liking fiery stuff, corvina is a must. The blend of hot with spice is awesome. The delicate balance of herbs in tile fish was also exceptional.... reminded me of New Orleans flavors. Will come back for more.
We eat at Harrys a few times each year and the food is good but not great.
Great oyster selection
Good range of appetizers (the calamari are very good)
Parent-friendly kids menu
A good and reasonably priced wine list
For a restaurant that states its a "seafood grill" in its name, there is a remarkable lack of grilled seafood on the menu. The fish options are limited in number and they all seem to have too many ingredients.
