Harry's Seafood Grill Ratings and Reviews
Food was very good, our waiter was awesome. The only real negative was we were seated in the bar area and there were 4 extremely loud patrons who were probably well into their happy hour that made it so noisy that it essentially ruined what was to be a quiet Valentine's Day dinner.
It is my wife's favorite restaurant so, as my date night for Valentines Day Dinner, we went there. The food was perfect and they even provided a complimentary glass of Champagne upon entry. Because of the occasion, it was a little louder than normal but, understandably so.
Over all, great night!
We love Harry's, especially the Maine lobster and the crab cakes! It is generally a first choice for our family on birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions. We highly recommend this restaurant for their great food, waterfront view and quiet but friendly atmosphere!
Fried calamari was excellent as usual although I wish the chef would bring back the avocado dipping sauce. They have the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried it many places. They say the secret is that they only use fresh-caught. Fish pot was very good, but a little skimpy on seafood. The moules frites were also quite good.
Management refused to honor valid gift cards (clearly marked "Valid for life") for use at Harry's seafood grill, Harry's Savoy & kid shelleen's.
They would rather lose customers than deal with Harry's hospitality group.
Obviously the "amicable" split previously reported in Delaware online is not true.
This behavior makes me wonder what other unethical acts they are committing.
I won't go back.
My parents told my daughter and I to celebrate my birthday. The waitress was nice, but the service was lacking. We all got the lobster boil dinner and I was sharing with my daughter (8) since we also got apps.
- the calamari is done perfectly
- the creme brûlée!!
- bread was never brought to the table until asked for after we got our apps
- had to track down another server to get a spoon for my daughter
- the lobsters were 1.25lbs at best but definitely not 1.5lbs. The tail on my mother’s lobster looked like a large shrimp
- couldn’t find our service to get a plate for my daughter so we had to resort to using the soup bowl
- the potatoes were terrible. They must have been just sitting in water all night just a mushy inedible mess.
- we never got refills on our water until she brought the check
- my Irish coffee tasted like straight Jameson’s and our server was once MIA so I could get some more coffee in it
I would have let most of this go if the restaurant was busy and she had many tables to attend to, but there were only about 10 tables with at least 4 servers I counted as I was constantly scanning the room trying to locate ours. I did find her in the corner chatting with the other server.
This was my 2nd year celebrating my birthday at Harry's. They gave me everything I wanted. A reserved larger booth...that delicious Lobster Naked and the best Moscow Mules. I have no complaints ...everyone is nice and goes out of their way to make sure you are satisfied.
The CEVICHE SAMPLER OF OYSTER, SCALLOP, SCARLET SNAPPER was rather tasteless except for the jalapeno slices coming thru...
The OVEN ROASTED CORVINA GARLIC ROASTED POTATO, TEMPURA FRIED BUTTERNUT SQUASH, CRANBERRY-GINGER VINAIGRETTE was excellent...
The Bronzino special was also excellent...
Much too noisy a restaurant... and tables for two for "miniscule" in size...
New Year’s Eve early dinner. Restaurant was brilliant as usual. Chef Bank’s was very much visible, working hard.
I was disappointed not to see any of the old wait staff there, but that is not a comment on the quality of staff that was present. As always, can’t wait to go back again.
I orig tried to make a 6:30 reservation for Christmas Eve on the web site. It was successful however I wanted to call and verify how late the restaurant was to be open. I was told they didn't know now they were going to handle everyone, so I canceled my reservation. Later I made an earlier time just to be sure I could get in. When I arrived I found they had plenty of room and would have at my original time. To think I was almost talked out of it by the hostess when I called. Next time I'll trust the web site.
This is the second year our office came to Harry's Seafood for our Christmas Lunch. We had Marvin this year just like last. Both years our experience was fantastic. Marvin treats you as family and cares for every detail. Our service was quick and in order. The food was fresh and delicious! Thanks for allowing us to enjoy a great lunch out! Your restaurant and the waterfront are a beautiful part of the experience.
I'd love to see restaurants of your status ask gentlemen to remove their hats -- especially baseball hats. It's a real pet peeve of mine. It was something we noticed on our way out and were bummed to see it. Step up. You have a good reputation. Let them know they should dress and act appropriately. Thanks.
We felt the meals were overpriced: My husband ordered broiled scallops and received no sides with the dish. The dish was priced at $31.00. Our server did not suggest ordering sides which would have increased the bill and her tip as well!! We ordered both of her recommendations. My crab cakes were good but not outstanding . They did come with a salad I could share with my husband and they were priced less than the scallops. Since they were the higher priced fish dishes, I wondered if she was coached to suggest them. The soups and dessert were good. my husband felt the soup portions were skimpy though. Frankly, we get better service and quality for our money at Big Fish Grill.
