Harry's Savoy Grill Ratings and Reviews
We were originally seated in a booth next to a group wearing WAY TOO MUCH perfume which is the fault of the customer not the resturant. The staff accomodated our request to be reseated elsewhere and we had a nice meal. It's not as sophisticated as Harry's Seafood on the river which we prefer but it is a different style resturant.
We went for our anniversary. The main room was beautiful. Excellent wait staff. I had flowers ordered for my wife and they were at the table when we arrived. The room was very energetic at first - there was a large business group that was excited to be there.(you could just tell!) I guess we should have guessed it would be a little loud - it was St. Patrick’s day after all.
The prime rib was the leanest cut of meat I've ever seen! It was tender, juicy, and utterly delicious! The au gratin potatoes were divine. The New England Clam Chowder was smooth and delectable. The dark chocolate mousse was scrumptuous. Not for your normal meat and potatoes type of person, step out of the box and enjoy.
As usual, a dinner at Harry' is always a festive occasion. Our food was excellent. The service was professional. The ambiance clubby, but fun. There's nothing to complain about here. Every dinner feels like a celebration. That's why we come back whenever we're in the area.
Our server, Adam, was fabulous, knowledgeable and attentive but not overbearing. The hostess, not so pleasant, but luckily we only dealt with her briefly. My scallops were amazing! I would go back there just for those alone cause they were the best I've ever had. My hubby had the steak and thought it was okay, but not great. The crab cakes weren't bad, but not the best I've ever had. There were weird clumps in it, I don't know how to describe it, like if you made mashed potatoes and didn't mash it well and had lumps of potato pieces..Dessert was very good. Overall it was a pleasant meal. We will return.
It is my son's favorite place and I have taken him there for many birthdays. This was his 33rd birthday and he a federal agent who resides in Virginia and he specifically told me to make his dinner reservations at Harry's when he comes home. So ever since his 20's we have been there every March 4th. Thanks much.
We felt the tables were just way to close together for comfort, the noise level was very loud, you could hear all the conversations with the surrounding tables. For the amount of money we spent, we felt it should reflect a more intimate dining experience. Now, the food was fantastic and our waitress was great.
The food was wonderful and is an excellent spot for a special occasion. Had their prime rib and oyster Steak was done perfectly and the raw oysters were extremely fresh. Best steak house in northern Delaware although a little pricey and would go during the week next time so it may not as vibrant.
The food was quite good and the portions were a good size. The presentation was attractive. it is nice that they give a little veggie and starch with the entree, but if you want more you can buy it.
I thought it could be just a tad brighter, but we were able to see the menu.
Another wonderful night at Harry's Savoy Grille. Superb dining compliments of Executive Chef David Leo Banks. Bar scene is very amiable and cheerful. Unique bar decor. Great bar staff. Wonderfully attentive waitstaff; our server knew what our preferences were before we even ordered and it was the first time she ever waited on us! This restaurant is a win-win: for both you and your guests.
I have frequented Harry's over the years for special occasions as well as to make an impression. I have always been pleasantly surprised and pleased and this experience was no different. I sat in the bar area- next to the fireplace. My companion loved the setting. There were people at the bar and surrounding tables, watching the Grammy's. The Valentine day special was perfect in every way - from the lobster manicotti appetizer and salad; on to the surf and turf ( short rib with stuffed lobster) and my companions blue prawns with coconut rice were described as tender and tasty. As always I will continue to enjoy Harry's Savoy Grill as one of my favorite restaurants.
