Harry's Oyster Bar & Seafood
Other highlights include an extensive craft beer list and Buck-a-Shuck happy hour Monday through Friday with $1 oysters and drink specials. Indoor and outdoor seating (weather permitting) with a spectacular view of Atlantic City’s famed boardwalk and live music daily in the summer months!
Tried to copy and paste my Google review but it only allows me 2000 characters. The food was subpar, the service was no good and it was overpriced. Go somewhere else for seafood or wait until you're somewhere better for it.
Long wait, even with reservations. Kid friendly due to the loud environment. Terrible service. Corn Crab chowder was very good. Crab cakes were prob the worst I’ve ever had, was shredded meat, lots of filler and shells in every bite Tasted more like fried tuna. Lobster Mac wasn’t great. Pan seared flounder was very good. All in all I wouldn’t go back nor recommend to friends.
Great service .. great live music outside. The day we arrived it was 20 knot winds from the west. The court yard protected the wind and allowed us to enjoy the outdoors..
We had 7 people. Food arrived cold. When we asked for 2 plates to have the vegetables well done and soft they arrived hard and almost raw they brought a second set that was worse. This is not yet bad, however the waiter said the chef was trying the best he could. I really don't understand that.
Grandsons preschool graduation
We waited 20 minutes to have our server take drink orders. Our drinks were never refilled.
We waited 2 hours for our food to be delivered to our table. When it arrived, 1 dish was cold, one was underdone, one was overcooked, and one was so unappetizing it was inedible.
The waitress took off about $60 from our check for the inconvenience, but it was still too much to pay for this awful food and even worse service.
We have been to Harry’s quite a few times before and will not be going back any time soon. I made a reservation and requested to be outside as I had done before. We showed up to be seat inside. When I questioned them the hostess outside was very rude and told me that they don’t take reservations outside. I wish I had been told that at the front. Then our server Lisa was TERRIBLE!!! It took over 30 mins to get our drinks. She never checked in to make sure things were ok. When we finally got our drinks after chasing her down to say we we hadn’t gotten them they came with melted ice as they had been sitting for some time. Then we received our oyster order with one shell empty. When pointing it out the person told us “Well I didn’t make it.” We then had to ask 4 other people to get the 1 we had missed. We finally got it after our dinner was delivered. Overall the food was t bad and the music was nice but we were there celebrating a graduation and didn’t have a good time. Usually when I write that in the notes for the reservation they make a point of at least saying something.
I never write unfavorable reviews, however Harrys came very highly recommended and to say the least we were all very disapointed. The place was not crowded, so there was no reason for the service to be as poor as it was. It was slow and although the waitress wrote down the orders, she still got them wrong on delivery. The food was mediocre at best and the ceviche which 3 of us were looking forward to having was NOT ceviche, but rather indercooked sliced, shrimp (not diced) over shredded lettuce in some kind of dressing (other than lime).
Wouldn’t go back. Our food server was attentive but all else failed. Bisque was room temp, crabmeat cocktail was a day away from expiry and served with two sauces in plastic to go cups. Lobster sandwich was prechewed and blackened Maui sandwich was a Filet O Fish with too big a bun for too small a filet.
Lastly the joint needs a mopping and paintbrush. It’s as worn as Bally’s entrance.
Our second annual work get together for Good Friday holiday. The food was delicious and all orders were served as requested. Our server was friendly and courteous. We even received a dessert for the birthday boy's celebration. Will definitely return for next year's celebration.
Decent food. Not overly priced for Atlantic City. Service and staff were excellent.
Had a great time for lunch. Michal was our server, he was very personable and attentive.
We had high expectations visiting Harry’s this weekend but we were both disappointed once finished dining. Walking in and being seated both went well. The restaurant was lit appropriately, but the bar was very loud and it was very warm inside. We did wait for a host for about 5 minutes. Our drinks arrived quickly, and the server was knowledgeable and made recommendations appropriately. She was very energetic and polite. Appetizers we had fried oysters and raw oysters. The raw were delicious and shucked perfectly. The fried were a little overdone but still tasty and the presentation was great. They were not oily from the fryer which I was pleased with. For entrees, the timing was very poor. We waited about 25-35 minutes after we finished our apps, and I was not offered another beer in the mean time. I had to flag someone down and ask. Our food came out late and only lukewarm. We got linguini and clams in white sauce (not your usual white sauce) and a seafood broil combo. The white sauce was creamy, almost like Alfredo, and had onions(?) in it. We were hoping for white wine sauce with oil and garlic, which is normally what Linguine and Clams white is. No description on the menu and no notice when we ordered it, so this was disappointing also. The sauce was congealed on top, so clearly this was sitting under a warmer for at LEAST 5-10 minutes, which was further proven by my barely warm meal. Clams were fresh and tasty on top. The broiled seafood was good quality food, but served with fries. Waste of space and cheap alternative to what could have been a nice vegetable mix. Crab cake was not baked all the way through, and the crabmeat inside was not of good quality. The flounder was the best part. One baked oyster (cold from sitting, but tasty) and two over cooked dry shrimp. Dessert was good. Not recommending the bread pudding but the chocolate cake was great. Overall, I’d recommend Harry’s for drinks and apps before dinner, but maybe try Docks next time for our meal.
We went week 2 of restaurant week. Flounder sandwich was amazing as was the clam chowder and key lime pie! Can’t wait to go back for a happy hour!
Went in on Restaurant Week special. Food was great snd service was excellent. Will come back.
Everyone who works at Harry’s is super friendly, knowledgeable and kind. The fish and seafood is the freshest, presentation is creative and amount is abundant. The desserts are scrumptious you homemade. The manager makes you feel at home and mingles through the room making sure all are having a wonderful culinary experience.
overall everything was very good,
great service, very good food - we had a good time.
Our visit to Harry's was for the extended restaurant week. It was nice that it wasnt busy, food was really good - I had the new England clam chowder, salmon dinner and key lime pie... all delicious! Due to St. Patty's day coming up, a list of specialty drinks were offered and we chose the shamrock tea which was a nice twist on a long island.
We came in on a very busy Friday night. Melody was our server. She was attentive, informative, and hospitable. One of the best servers we have personally had.
Dinner was great
I've recommended Harry's to many family and friends. We always enjoy the meal and the restaurant.
Eight of us went to Harry’s for lunch during Restaurant Week. Everyone had a great time. Our server, Manny was excellent! The choices on the Restaurant Week menu were varied and everyone enjoyed their meal. The amount of food was perfect- we left without feeling over stuffed. I will definitely return- perhaps for Happy Hour with the $1 oysters - yum!
Restaurant week with friends
My husband and I both ordered the fried oyster and chicken salad platter. The "platter" consisted of a lump of gluey chicken salad and 4 sad, hard, small, freezer-burned oysters which were 90% breading and hard as a rock. I don't consider 4 oysters a seafood "platter". The service was fine, the waitress was very nice, and the ambience was fine. The acoustics were awful. The place was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. The food? Disgusting. We won't be going back.
Great food and service at Harry's. Had a table looking at the AC boardwalk.
Went to Harry's for restaurant week, because it had a varied menu and we couldn't get reservations at our 1st choice. The service was excellent, our server was attentive and the manager checked in several times. The food was a little slow from the kitchen. Some of the choices were a GREAT value for restaurant week, others were a little over priced. I wish there had been 3 Mahi tacos instead of two. The only true complaint I had was sending back my bread pudding - the bowl was hot, the pudding was cold. Next time, I'd like to sit at the bar for apps and drinks.
The food was not good. The fried seafood platter was over cooked. My husband’s food was cold and had no taste. Still trying to figure out what the hype is about this place! On a positive note, the staff was very nice!
The food was delicious and a great value for the money.
Recommend For raw bar only. Waitress was excellent.
ORDERED THE BROILED SEAFOOD COMBO, THE FLOUNDER WAS PRIOR FROZEN, AND MUST HAVE BEEN FOR SOME TIME AS IT DID NOT TASTE LIKE ANY FISH I EVER HAD AND THE TEXTURE WAS LIKE CARDBOARD
very enjoyable lunch. It was restaurant week. I had the Cajun flounder sandwich very tasty, huge sandwich
It was Restaurant week and the food was just okay
It was Restaurant Week so the fixed menu was the best price. Two of us in the party. The apps were great but the entrees were poor. The sides with the salmon were horrible they were not eaten. The clams in white sauce was tasteless even adding grated cheese and S&P. Thank goodness for the oyster crackers on the table, it helped us fill the hunger. The dessert of bread pudding was burnt, one bite and we were done. The server was so helpful offered any other on the menu, but once you taste burnt food you loose your appetite. The manager came over and comped one of our meals, offered us drinks, etc. Great customer service --- we may try Harry's again????
The French fries were extremely under cooked. The rest of the meal was good!
My husband and I enjoyed Harry's Oyster Bar and Seafood during AC Restaurant week. we would have like to have a few more entree options.
Best seafood place that I have eaten in a long time. All seafood that we had was very fresh. The service was outstanding. My glass was never empty.
We made a reservation for my friend's birthday but they decided to close early. They denied seeing our reservation, but it didn't matter because they were already mopping the floors. We were very disappointed. Poor business
Very accommodating to our group on Superbowl Sunday. Waitress did not ring up drinks as requested but she was working a party of two very large groups so we understand that it may have been overwhelming at times. Food was great and staff was super attentive to our needs.
Extremely loud not so clean and my scallops were very greasy. For the money there are many better places to dine in AC.
Harry's Oyster bar was a fun spot for a group. The food was just okay bar food - oysters were good, entree's were on the small side. Service took forever. However, the redeeming quality here was the outside patio - it was really nice, there was a live band - lots of fun! Especially for a group.
