With its large oval booths and rich bronze leather banquets, copper ceiling with walnut trim and particular lighting, the main dining room at Harry's Café & Steak caters to both Wall Streeters as well as residents of the burgeoning Financial district neighborhood. Patrons will immediately be drawn to the 47 foot bar, covered in solid, rich American Black Walnut. Gone are the six free telephones, stock ticker and munifacts machines that once graced the bar area of the original, replaced by a professional sound system and separate bar seating designed to create a distinct lounge area where guests can enjoy great cocktails as well as food. Our separate wine cellar dining room evokes memories of the original restaurant in a more intimate setting. The 70 seat wine cellar has its own entrance located on Pearl Street but is also accessible from the main dining room.

We really, really wanted to like this place. We were seated right away, everyone was polite but the service was terrible. We waited over an hour for one person in our party to get a Stella (beer) and had to ask for it to be comped for the wait. The appetizers were great no complaints. The dinner menu is not only deceiving the portions are very small. There is an item called Hanover steak and cheese. The description says it came with french bread, not on french bread. Its basically an overpriced underwhelming Philly cheese steak, the side of house-made chips had no salt and an unbalanced amount of paprika. We were all pretty disappointed with our main courses. If you are happy with a piece of meat for dinner great but you won't be happy with your sides either. Desert was not better. Our coffees never came, they serve cheesecake that was previously frozen and not one piece of fresh fruit and again overpriced. Costco has better cheesecake. This place is great for bar food and a drink. That's it.

Seriously great old restaurant. It’s been an institution on Wall Street for so long and still great. The dry aged steaks are seriously perfection. Service is awesome and friendly. I can’t say enough. Love Harry’s

Filets were dry and chewy but bone in Ribeye was great. Server was not very familiar with gluten free options besides steak.
Very loud.

The oysters were fresh, succulent and outstanding with a pungent mignonette. We each ha d the special of basil encrusted grouper over fennel risotto. The wines under the sommelier list are excellent choices.

Service was slow, though the food came out quickly once the order was finally taken. I like low lighting, but I couldn’t even see the steak I was cutting. My chair was jutting out into an aisle. It was a romantic atmosphere except for the music being way too loud for casual conversation.

Wine served without showing the bottle / pre-tasting. Otherwise waiters attentive. One steak perfectly grilled to medium, second too raw. Salad and meat quality good. Desert tasted a little old.

Great pre-Christmas lunch with my daughter who has been coming with me to Harry's for 25 of her 29 years.
Harry is a true Wall St legend - great restauranteur & even better person. Our lunch truly was the kickoff to the holiday season following attending the Christmas Spectacular @ Radio City. Couldn't have been a better day.

Everything was lovely. At times the service was a little slow but we didn’t mind because we were savoring every moment! The food was out of this world and the steaks perfectly cooked! We will be back!!!

Outstanding relic of Wall Street. Great steak shared for 2 - a delicious porterhouse. Clearly underrated as a steakhouse option. It was great, as was the service and drinks were perfect. Loved the holiday decor as well.

Tasty food, not overpriced. Very loud, but it was around the holidays so that's understandable. The service was very friendly but rather slow. A solid 3 out of 5 stars. Perfect for a business meal, but if you have a time crunch I would suggest letting them know ahead of time. I would go there again but maybe I'll skip the appetizers and just grab an entrée.

Classic Wall Street old boy restaurant. Good for doing business. A bit loud. Service is excellent--very responsive and efficient. Food is hit or miss. Beef Wellington had zero seasoning and no flavor. Onion Soup watered down, no beefy flavor. Prices are fine dining, food is not.

Waiter told us a one of the desert choice flavors was sorbet - it was actually gelato. GF is lactose intolerant.

My wife and I were in NY 3 years ago (from The UK) when I first went to Harry's. We had such a great time that I booked again (December 17) when went with 2 friends who were visiting the city for the first time. I cannot tell you how much we all enjoyed the night. They are both well travelled, they put this dinner in their top 3 ever.
There was live music with a sultry female singer and a 3 piece band which added to the ambience perfectly.
For a fantastic meal, great wine, excellent service and an overall wonderful adult dinner experience, go here.

The only important issue at Harry’s is the inappropriately high volume from the singer and 3 piece band.

I was very pleased to snag a table for 3 on a Friday night with very little lead time. The hostess was very considerate of us as we did not like our first table. She assured us that we could have another table, so we went to the bar and had a glass of wine. Our second table was ready in no time, but we had already staked out a place at the bar and didn't want to leave, so we just had our dinner in there. We had a great time and the food was good. Especially the potatoes.

HARRY'S CAFE AND STEAK? THERE WERE ONLY 2 STEAK OPTIONS ON THE MENU OUT OF AT LEAST 15 ENTREES. HARDLY A STEAK JOINT. THE FOOD AND DRINKS WERE DECENT BUT THE SERVICE IS WHAT RUINED THE NIGHT FOR US. FIRST THEY PUT 7 OF US AT A 6 PERSON RECTANGULAR TABLE WHICH WAS SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE FOR US. ALSO WE FELT LIKE WE HAD TO KEEP ASKING "WHERE IS OUR WAITER?!" AND HAD TO FLAG HIM DOWN NUMEROUS TIMES TO RETURN TO OUR TABLE AFTER A 20 MINUTE HIATUS. THERE ARE SOOOOOO MANY BETTER OPTIONS IN NYC.

Restaurant was nice and waitress was very nice and friendly.

First glass of Champagne was flat so that was immediately disappointing. Food came out way to quickly - had to too long wait for salt/pepper/ketchup. Food was decent, I enjoyed the potatoes most of all. Wouldn't come here again for brunch.

Harry's never lets us down for brunch! We had a friend visiting and so took her to Harry's on Saturday. The 90min champagne brunch is an excellent way to start the day. The entree's are always a hit too - I always order the smoked salmon scramble, although will perhaps try the lobster roll next time (which my friend ordered) as it looked delicious. Service is always spot on too - very friendly wait staff who are nice and liberal with the champagne. Definitely recommend for brunch.
