Very noisy environment. I think it is unacceptable for a restaurant to have no more bolognaise sauce or gnocchi to serve its customers at 9pm. I had to pick my plate after three previous attempts. My fiancee's plate was without salt and my pasta was not worthy of a restaurant of this level. It was simply disappointing!
I have eaten at various Cipriani restaurants but it was my first time at Harry Cipriani. Food was perfect, waiter was great, but overall ruined by an extremely rude and judgmental manageress/front of house manager. We arrived and even though we were dressed formally, the manageress/front of house manager treated us as if we were a burden. If they want to keep up the high standards of Harry Cipriani, they need to consider hiring a much better/friendlier manageress/front of house manager, unlike the one we had the misfortune of meeting.
Overall, the worst restaurant I have ever been to while traveling. I ordered the chicken with steamed vegetables, which was $44.00. It was similar to a frozen meal I could heat up at home. The Maitre'D was the worst part of it all. I had my coat in my chair wrapped around me, and he would not let me keep my coat in my seat. Instead, he ripped it out from underneath me, and he insisted that I use the coat check, which was not my choice.
Food was good albeit prices not cheap. Great service and atmosphere
Service was attentive and generous. A bit confusing upon entering since is small and handing coats is done among tables. I’m not sure I have a better suggestion. Perhaps walk first to the table and take the coats paring table and coats and bring coats to table after? Innovative service? Not sure. Food is good, agree with other reviewers that is overpriced yet you manage to always have full house. My honest opinion starts with the attentiveness, great gentleman does the trick every time. Than the flowers always should be natural, nothing is more deterrent (other than hit in the food uhhh) than artificial in an upscale restaurant and the bread is preferred ‘rustic’, warm and close to homemade as possible, NY has good bread makers suppliers. This to include the breadsticks... :) thank you for reading my humble review. The Lemon pie was soooo good! Thank you!
Warm, convivial atmosphere when looking in from the outside, not quite the same on the inside. Ridiculous pressure to buy Bellinis. We were asked 3 times within 45 seconds of sitting down. Ridiculous. Then pressured to get bottled water twice before having a chance to open the menu. When I asked for the wine list, they acted as if it was an unusual request. When they finally understood that we were actually there for a meal and not to relive a scene from Sex and the City, every one settled down and let us almost enjoy our acceptable meal. They did try to take our plates away as many times as they offered us Bellinis, and, we had to similarly chase them away. Sure it's a tourist trap, but at $150 a head, couldn't they treat us better than prey?
Always the best at Harry’s Bar!
Marianna and Aldo go above and beyond as always 💕
THE BEST LAMB I EAT IN MY WHOLE LIFE. I LIVE IN ARGENTINA, I HAVE TRIED LAMB. THIS LAMB WAS PERFECT. GO TO CIPRIANI'S HAVE THE LAMB.
There is never a disappointment at this place. The food is exceptional! The bellinis are to die for! And let's not even talk about the pasta. We travel an hour to hear just for the pasta. Everyone at the restaurant is very nice and the service is top notch!
As usual, an outstanding experience!
Perfect service, excelent food and good wine list.
We had a delightful evening at Harry Cipriani. Three of us met a friend who lives in Manhattan. A great bottle of Brunello de Montalcino followed Bellinis for the ladies. Each of us had no trouble finding multiple entrees that would have satisfied our appetites; narrowing the choice was a bit of work but the waiter suggested his favorites, and we were very happy.
Altogether a memorable evening. We will be back.
Food was unimpressionable and the service wasn't stellar. Need improvement on both especially for the price point.
They brought the main course while we are in the middle of the entrance
Wait staff was not good- asked for recommendations and waiter was rude. Appetizer was mediocre main course was bland. Seemed like a dinner for the rich folks on upper east side to call their own. Would no recommend this location.
Cipriani’s is always a spectacular experience. From the moment Marianna warmly greets you at the door you know you’re going to be well cared for and spoiled.
Simply a fantastic experience.
Food always good. Service achingly slow.
Traditional great Italian cuisine. Kids friendly. Great staff!
Perfect in every way. Great to see the same great dining experience is still there.
As usual, everything was superb!
Always the best.
wonderful! the best gnocchi I've ever eaten
Overpriced and poor service. It is hard to believe they charge USD 5.50 for just hot water.
Excellent experience in line with what you expect from any Cipriani establishment.
Great service and food!
Excellent except for the noise
Awesome food and exceptional service! Staff was very pleasant and efficient
Wonderful experience- top notch
Hi I just got off work and I’ll call you later thanks again
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. I travel every week and am often New York. Mariana at Cipriani’s is a delight and the staff is super
Loud, cramped, and extremely overpriced.
Our food was barely edible; could not finish. Mediocre salad and 2 different pastas. Can honestly say that I do not recall EVER having pasta this poorly prepared. Added to this fact is that everything is very, very expensive.
What a disappointment. We have dined at Cipriani in Venice and stayed and dined at the Cipriani Hotel on Giudeca Island; all with fond memories.
It wasn’t quite the lunch we were expecting. Loads of staff but all too busy chatting to each other so didn’t feel looked after or relaxed. Menu was a little limited. Expensive, much better places to eat in NYC.
Good food, service very show ( noting That a lot of customers are frequent clients - nothing wrong - but giving too much attention for them, forgetting other not known customers)
Left disappointed. Staff was very stressed this evening and the service was not good enough, food aswell. It was ok but wouldn’t rush back.
The service was not good at all. The staffs were not attentive at all. For the price charged, poor service and food, it's not worth it. I would not recommend this place.
Food was mediocre, Bellinis were good. Prices very high not matching with level of cuisine. Weather was so cold we opted for early pre theatre dinner at hotel where we were staying. Sherry Netherlands good hotel...restaurant not so good!
A great meal full of good service and classic food like Eggs Benedict. The best way to begin a day at a NYC Museum.
