   Steak was very tuff! The sides were cold. Service was poor. It was a great steak house several years ago. Talked with the manager, they had no clue on customer service. Do not waste the $$$ to throw away.

   We were seated right away as we had a reservation. Our server was attentive and the assistant alway came by and filled our water glasses. The martinis were well mixed and tasty. We split a cob salad which was plenty for 2. Glad we did so to leave room for the main course. I order the pan seared salmon. The seasonings were perfect and very generous portion. My daughter ordered the Bolognese with penne pasta. The sauce was the best I tasted ever! The combination of the beef and pork in a thicker marinara really fired up my taste buds. Truly a great dining experience.

   Dinner at Harry Carey’s Steakhouse was the most disappointing part of our Chicago family trip. Average food and negative vibe. From seating to exit, no one introduced themselves, no one asked if we enjoyed our meal, and no one smiled. It seemed like no one wanted to work there and their primary goal was to get us in and out. From the time we sat down to leaving, we were there only 50 minutes. Perhaps the most surprising part of the meal was the lecture we received from our waiter, Fernando. Our daughter is pregnant and is careful what she eats. When her steak came out raw, she asked that it be further cooked. Instead of simply taking it back to the kitchen, Fernando lectured that we didn’t understand that “medium” to steak houses was not just pink but bright red. In this case, it was truly raw-still room temperature. In my many years of business and personal travel, I have never had this type of condescending, rude experience. On a busy Wednesday evening when most of the surrounding restaurants were packed, Harry Carey’s was relatively empty. Perhaps we are not the only ones who have received this level of service and average food.

   We had a lovely dinner at Harry Carey’s tonight. It was easy to get a reservation through Open Table. We arrived on time and were immediately seated. The noise level was not too loud - lively and happy. The menu has lots of options. We ordered calamari for an appetizer. It was perfectly cooked, crisp but not overcooked. We split a Caesar Salad that had the creamiest, most flavorful dressing. I did wish it came with an anchovy but it was fine without it. My husband had lasagne and I had the scallop risotto. Both were a hit. We are looking forward to eating the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Neither of us had room for dessert but the options were mouthwatering. The wait staff worked well together. Even though they were busy, water glasses were refilled and dishes were delivered while still piping hot. The baseball decor was fun and not distracting. The exterior is a wild design that stands out. We enjoyed every minute of our dinner there.

   Specifically asked for a nice table as it was our wedding anniversary. We were seated near a very noisy group and the staff were unaware that it was a special day for us. We were disappointed overall

   The entire meal was a wonderful experience! The service and staff were top notch. A very tasty martini to start. The food was AMAZING! And the crème brûlée was heavenly! We can’t wait to come back to Chicago to eat here again.

    The server was friendly and helpful regarding food choices. The food (my guest and I both had lasagna), which was delicious. Everything about this restaurant was very enjoyable.
