Got to sit at The Governors table, pretty cool
We've, always, loved Harry Brown's - for a nice night out and special occasions.
The employees are, always, friendly and helpful, Nothing is rushed.
We had a great dinner. The service was perfect. Our server Erkan was very professional and friendly. We cannot wait to return.
Lovely Brunch!! Everything was top notch. Nice range of food choices and attentive service.
The veal special was not very good. I found the veal very tuff and that I did not expect coming from the caliber of your food in past visits. I was disappointed to say the least. Having prepared many veal dishes in my life I can tell the difference easily. Disappointed to say the least but wanted to try something different. Will be reluctant to do so next time. My husbands lamb was superb, therefore we will most likely be back.
Always a delight!
Great history, engaging host, wonderful ambiance and view from front tables
Great restaurant! We went for my boyfriends birthday and they made the effort to recognize that and bring out dessert without me even telling them it was his birthday. When I made the reservation i requested a window seat (not knowing that there are only two in the place) and we got the most perfect table right next to the window. Staff was very efficient. GREAT place. Will most definitely be coming back!
Charming, with great service. Food was good, but not great. Had the Crab Empanadas, filling very tasty, bit the pastry was a little doughy. Cream of Crab soup was excellent. The Lamp Lollipops tasted great but the fat was not rendered enough.
Our favorite spot to never miss when visiting Annapolis!!! Always perfect!
Ambience was outstanding. Waitress was great. Food delicious. We’d return
Great place and amazing waitress and waiters and the perfect place for a romantic dinner
We arrived early for a cocktail. Mike, our mixologist, was new, his second evening. No worries as he proved to be a seasoned profressional. We dined downstairs, Eric was our server, you would extremely happy with Eric. Never had to ask for anything. He was at the top of his game. Our dinners were prepaired to perfection. Btw, if a really great cup of coffee is your poison, you will not be disappointed. This was our first, certainly will not be our last, time here. We were celebrating our 21 wedding anniversary. We very much recommend Harry Brown's to you.
We have always loved Harry Browne's when we frequent Annapolis. Unfortunately this time our male waiter seemed rushed and condescending. That is a trait no waiter can afford. We gave him a 10% tip. In actuality he deserved nothing for his attitude and lack of polish.
We've been coming to Harry Browne's for Sunday brunch after church for 30+ years and, we've always enjoyed a delicious meal and positive experience.
Out of town guests really enjoyed the entire experience.
Over the years we have dined at Harry Brownes on several occasions and have always found the food to be delicious, very well presented in a sophisticated atmosphere. I have always liked the crab soup. I had rack of lamb cooked to my request and well presented. We also had crab cakes which were delicious and stuffed pork chop also quite well presented. It may a bit pricey but the food and atmosphere are worth it.
Harry Browne's Restaurant is a quiet, classy, fine dining venue located on State Circle around the Maryland Capitol building.
Went here on a late Sunday afternoon to get mussels. Sat upstairs where their bar is located. Not very crowded at all and the bartender was attentive. The wine selection was pretty good and the white wine mussels were made exactly how they were supposed to be. I would definitely go back.
Love this restaurant. Did not love the fact that the Bananas Foster was off the menu
We had been to Annapolis a few times but never ate at Harry Browne's before. We decided to try it on our most recent trip and were not disappointed. We had a lovely dinner, at one of the outside tables, as it was still summer weather in early October. They were fine with us have our dog with us, and everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The server brought water for us and our dog right away. Food was terrific, my mixed greens salad was fresh and delicious. The salmon was also excellent, well prepared and very tasty. Everyone sitting at the tables outside was very friendly and we had some nice conversation with the other guests. I will definitely go back.
It was our first trip to Annapolis. We were celebrating our anniversary and made a reservation. The maitre d' was very welcoming and said he didn't have a window table, but the Governor's table (yes, where the Governor sits when he eats there) was reserved for us. It was a corner table, slightly elevated. Very nice and made our celebration feel more special.
The calamari appetizer was great. As was the best salad. As was my scallops and shrimp with spinach risotto. Hubby had the tuna; he wished he had gotten the salmon instead, but my sample taste was pretty good, I thought.
We were pretty stuffed, so had to pass on dessert. It was a lovely experience all around.
Service was very attentive. The food was good, Caesar salad with crab and crab cake platter with delicious asparagus and hush puppies (being from the south they were just okay).
The ambiance is perfect for business, romantic and friends dining out.
We came on Sunday before the theater. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. It was very cozy on a dreary day. Our food came promptly and was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
Steak Diane and Shrimp and Scallops dishes were excellent, as was the service.
The food was exquisite. The vegetarian spaghetti & Meat balls was completely surprising. My wife had accidentally ordered it thinking it was pasta. But the spaghetti squash was perfect with the light cream sauce with the tomatoes. And the meat balls were made from lentils and chickpeas and ground fine. A fantastic dinner for our anniversary.
This is one of my favorite places to eat while in Annapolis. We always comeback. This night, however, it was very noisy. Very hard to have an intimate conversation. Very loud talkers. I miss the ambiance of the elegant dining of just a few years ago.
I'm a long-time fan of Harry Browne's and it's one of the few restaurants in my town that I know I can count on for a good meal. I believe our meal the other night was just one of those aberrations on a slow Sunday night. The food was just OK. I had the rack of lamb which I've gotten many times there, and it came looking very pallid - no char or crust or anything on the outside. The lamb was a perfect medium-rare, but otherwise was very disappointing. My wife was disappointed by her crab cakes, which are also usually pretty good. We'll be back, but I'll be less effusive in my praise for a while.
Fabulous food, fabulous service, fabulous location!
Always on of our favorites. The food is so good and the people, atmosphere and overall ambiance is awesome. We come back every time we are in DTA!
per usual, great service, delicious food, and lovely environment/ambiance.
Harry Browme's provides a delightful dining experience for any occasion.
We were really disappointed. First visit to Annapolis. I made the reservations for my family and some friends. We were all really disappointed. The appetizers were good. The entrees were not good at all. They had a soft shell crab special and all 3 people who ate them felt sick after. They were runny and not appealing at all. Milk brought to the table was sour. Our waiter seemed flustered and too busy but the restaurant was not that busy as it was late. We won't try coming there again and I was embarrassed that I had my friends spent quite a bit of money and be disappointed. Desserts were store bought, also.
Harry Browne's never disappoints! We have been going here for years each time we visit Annapolis. The food, service and attention to detail are fabulous.
The fact that my wife and I chose to have dinner at Harry Browne's every evening of our 3 day weekend says more about Harry's than any additional words could express.
Harry Browne's is always very good, but one dish this last visit pushed it over the top. First, the merely very good things we ate. I started with the lamp lollipops. I've never been a big fan of lamb, but I'd had lamb lollipops at another restaurant a year or so ago and loved, hadn't seen them since and so figured I give them a try. These were good but not good enough to convert me to lamb. My wife's wedge salad, however, was terrific -- loaded with bleu cheese and thick, salty bacon. My main was the steak Diane. It was properly cooked, good, but not as good as I recall the filet mignon being. For a few bucks more I'd go with the filet mignon if I were in the mood for steak. The star of the evening was the shrimp and scallop dish. Words fail me. All I can say is WOW! Next time it'll be part of our meal for sure. Our wine was a delicious cab off the specials list. Service was impeccable. All in all, our evening was terrific. We hadn't been to Harry Browne's for a while. We'll have to make sure such an oversight doesn't happen again.
Love this place! It is a gem in historic Annapolis.
while very courteous and friendly the service was slow and the waitress was not familiar with much of the menu
Had a great experience except for one couple behind us that talked very loud. Not the restaurants fault- the woman was just a non-stop loud mouth.
Classy, quaint place with wonderful food, great service, and quiet atmosphere. Will definitely go there again.
Lucky to get an outside table on a beautiful afternoon, our meal was fine, the house wine especially good and our server pleasant and efficient. But she definitely had too many tables inside to take care of the outside diners. Not her fault and everything eventually came out as we had ordered
