Great restaurant in a historic location. Excellent American fare in a warm, quiet atmosphere. We should commit to visiting Harry Browne’s more often.
Wonderful food and service.
Wonderful Easter brunch experience. Reasonably priced, very accommodating with 8 year old and loved Bloody Mary bar! We will be back when we visit again.
Went for Easter Brunch and it was fantastic. Brunch included lobster tails!
Quiet elegance! Brunch is great and comes with either a Mimosa or champagne. Good selection
We love this place!
It's hard to find a really fine restaurant in Annapolis. I hoped Harry Browne's would be it, but it doesn't quite get there. The calamari were the highlight of the meal - light, crisp, tender, great dipping sauce. The shrimp and scallops with risotto had good flavor, but the risotto was undercooked and still had a hard chew in the middle of the kernels. I enjoyed the beet salad, but the flourless chocolate cake was a disappointment. It was flavored with cinnamon but did not state that on the menu and I happen not to like the combination. Also, a touch of cayenne can boost the flavor of chocolate, but the chef was too heavy handed here. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service, and I'd certainly come here again for the calamari, but the rest of the menu needs some tweaking.
Son’ Command ceremony. Great food, roomy Table, excellent ambiance. We went upstairs for a drink after, great bar too.
Best cream of crab soup I ever had, phenomenal crab cakes and warm and personable service.
Appetizer was minimal and a bit too eclectic. The tagliatelle bolognese was outstanding Upscale restaurant. Nice atmosphere. However the person who sat us had an attitude when we asked to be moved because the Lily’s were causing severe allergic reaction. Server was good and exceptionally accommodating
Dinner at Harry Browne’s was superb. We came for Restaurant Week and had a reservation for 6:30. We had forgotten that the Caps were playing at the Navy stadium and traffic was a mess. Parking was practically nonexistent. The friendly folks at Harry Browne’s held our table and told us not to worry (and they held it for almost 45 minutes before we were able to get there and park!). The atmosphere was very nice — cozy, warm, and inviting. Our server was the best. Even with our late arrival, he didn’t try to rush us. He made us feel special, as though we were the only diners there. Both the steak Diane and the twin lobster tails were delicious. The risotto that came with the lobster was perfect. We both had the creme brûlée for dessert — it was so tasty and rich, we couldn’t finish it. We will definitely be going back sometime soon!
We went for restaurant week and were disappointed with the service and food.
Disappointing. Went for restaurant week and risotto was not hot, was too al dente, lobster tails were good but again, nothing was very hot. Salad was very good! Nice atmosphere, pretty location acceptable service but overall disappointed in food.
Birthday celebration for an old friend.
As always harry Browne's shone in Restaurant Week Annapolis. The four of us enjoyed excellent first courses and a variety of well prepared mains. My spouse did not think the vegetarian lasagna was not so good since the vegetables were not cooked well enough for a lasagna.
The rest of us really enjoyed porchetta and steak!
Downstairs it is the best higher dining experience in Annapolis and always my "go to" place for special occasions. Upstairs is more casual and a great for "everyday dining".
Great food and service.
Terrific meal, service and ambiance!
Great meal, super service and unbelievably setting.
Train wreck! 9:00 pm lights out , music off ! We were pretty much told it was time to leave! Big disappointment !
Best cream of crab soup in Annapolis. The filet was perfect. Service was excellent. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be going back.
Food and service were excellent. Had a drink at bar upstairs after dinner, environment was very cozy & bartender very friendly
Excellent all around experience. The only slight disappointment was that there was no notice on Open Table or otherwise that there was a special Valentine ‘s Day menu. Nevertheless, everything was great!
Valentines. Two weeks before only had 8:30 available. But when arrived, there were many empty tables. Unfriendly greeting when entered. Waitress nice, efficient. But cleared done dishes before I was finished eating. As we ate, the staff moved tables and chairs to set up for next day. Will not return there.
The Food was excellent. They may ne under new management. The service, though not bad, was not the best. We were seated by the dior as better seats went unused. Took a while to get service, we were not guven a wine list at first. Normally on Valentines, and we’ve been going for iver ten years, my wife gets a rose. No rose this time. Still, the food was better than ever!
My Favorite table .. fabulous Tina taking care of us.. my favorite spot for Sunday Brunch in Annapolis . Delicious omelet .. perfect spot on a dreary rainy Sunday .. joyful delicious corner in best Annapolis location.. thank you Rusty Romo
Very polite waiter. Food was memorable
Our server was tremendous...very caring and friendly. The food was excellent and the ambiance great. Highly recommend!
Harry Brownes is a class act. Love the classic cruise-ship decor and dark wood. The warm ambience and starched- white tablecloths, well-dressed waitstaff and priority treatment make you feel special. No hurry here. Sit back and enjoy. It's hard to decide exactly what to try but I can definitely recommend the perfectly prepared tender, juicy mussels, or calamari, the exquisite lamb rack, or super fresh salmon and the steak Diane. Cream of crab soup is to die for as is the handle and vanilla ice cream or specialty dessert after dinner coffees. Love this place. Now get some more California wines on your menu! Thank you!
We went for sunday brunch. The service was great, the food was excellent. Especially the crab soup. Will return next time i am in annapolis.
Great choice for a last minute get together with friends. First time in the main dining room. Food was excellent, loved the crab cakes and cream of crab soup. Server was friendly and attentive. Will dine here again.
My husband and I rarely get out without the kids. This use to be or favorite restaurant. We had reservations and when we arrived we were promptly seated. We then sat for 10 minutes before our waiter stopped by and said he’d be with us soon. Five minutes later he came back. Not a good first impression. We ordered the beet salad to split. That took awhile to get to us. It was good. Then came our ribeye steaks. We both ordered them medium rare. They were medium to medium well. Mine was a nice cut and my husband’s was full of gristle. Because we waited so long we never sent them back and the waiter never came to check to see how our steaks were cooked. We finished our meal and my husband barely ate any of his steak. I gave him some of mine. I ran out of water and never got a refill. The waiter came and took our plates and was about to walk away without asking how our meal was. I stopped him and said “ just so you know, both our steaks were over cooked and my husband did not have a good cut of meat.” He said okay and walked away. He came back with our check and said he didn’t charge us for my husband’s steak. He also said 1 in 6 people don’t like the ribeye. Then maybe it should be on the menu. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our night out and will not be returning to Harry Brown’s again in the future.
The food and service was good, but I was expecting excellent and it never rose to that level.
We had a great experience at Harry Browns's. The food was excellent, prepared exactly how we wanted. The service was also great. The waitress was very attentive. We will certainty be back.
Thank you . George
Service and food was very good as usual. Should have valet parking as there wasn't anywhere to park today.
We were seated immediately and at the requested location. Service was responsive and patient. Entrees of filet mignon and rack of lamb were both excellent and cooked to order. Bar orders were provided and nicely complemented the meal. Wait staff were attentive without rushing and good humored. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, so thoroughly enjoyable dinner.
We celebrated an anniversary there on Jan 5, 2018. Ricky was our server and did an excellent job, especially making after dinner coffee drinks. Our steak dinners were cooked superbly. Harry Browne's is our upper end go-to place in Annapolis.
Nice lunch. Don’t miss the crab cakes. Calamari appetizer was excellent.
Harry Browne's can always be found on Annapolis Maryland's top ten restaurants, usually at the top. My wife and I love Harry Browne's for two reasons. First they have great food and a great wine list. We started off with a truly wonderful appetizer, small Nantucket scallops, available for few weeks each year. Those scallops were divine. My wife ordered their fabulous crab cakes which were served with a warm potato salad with a ground mustard sauce. While I dined on the Kona Rubbed Ribeye steak with spinach, blue cheese and bacon potato, just my kind of meal. From the extensive wine list, I selected the Latour Chardonnay since my wife ordered seafood, the gentlemanly thing to do since it was our 38th wedding anniversary.
The other reason we love Harry Browne's is because they have a sophisticated ambient interior. This isn't true of most restaurants in Annapolis, which have rather stark interiors with unfinished brick walls and ceilings with exposed beams and round heating ducts hanging down. I'm sure you know what I mean. Not Harry Browne's, they have an authentic late 1800's decorative gold tin ceiling, lit by several large unusual globe type chandeliers which display the signs of the zodiac a la the planet Saturn. In between the elevated sections of the main dining room, they feature beautiful cut and frosted glass partitions framed in dark mahogany mill work. These attractive partitions act as a divider between seating adding to the privacy to their tables. The dark green walls are ordained with large mirrors framed in beautiful gold acanthus leaf molding, each separated by large candle sconces. At the back of the main dining room is a large built-in curio, also constructed of dark mahogany mill work, glass and mirrors. If you don't think the interior design of a restaurant adds to your dining experience, then you have never been to Harry Browne's. Eating is more that just a treat for the palate, it can also be a treat for your eyes.
