Harry & Izzy's - Downtown Ratings and Reviews
We made reservations for Valentine's Day well in advance and I expected a normal table
seating. Instead were we placed on the third level in the very corner facing the wall
and the noise level was off the chart. If we ever go back I will not accept a table in
I had a wonderful experience at Harry & Izzy’s on February 17, 2018. I had the prime steak burger and my girlfriend had a pasta, both were exceptional and cooked perfectly. We had a creme brûlée for dessert as well, which both looked and tasted delightful. The waiter and hostesses were very kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and fun. Food came quickly despite being a busy saturday night. The restaurant looked gorgeous and was lighted well with an ambiance perfect for a private conversation over a nice dinner. One of my new favorites downtown, will definitely bring my girlfriend back again. Would recommend to anyone.
The service was fantastic, and the food was amazing. The table next to us did seem to have had to much alcohol, and a little obnoxious. That’s not the restaurants fault, but hearing the F word multiple during the first part of the shrimp cocktail wasn’t the best. Overall great experience, and I would recommend Alison the server for anyone.
Good food. Very pricey but that's obvious. Service seemed to be a bit judgy. We didn't order appetizers and I asked for bread and I felt a "look" of disappointment, although I don't believe it was intentional. All in all it was a good place for a Valentine's Day dinner. Just request a bench table-the others seem a little close to each other.
I gave the Mercedes key to the valet and the Aston Martin outfront of St Elmo’s caught my attention. I wondered if my car was special enough to be left on the street guarded by the valets while we ate dinner. I guess not. We proceeded in through the circular door where I tried to accompany my date in the same pie piece. I should have waited for the next pie to come around. Luckily, OpenTable came through and my name was actually on the list for a table at 8:15. I avoided any embarrassment there. We were seated, ordered drinks and shrimp cocktail. You have to get the shrimp here. If you don’t, dine elsewhere. I’d suggest any cut of beef on the menu. It’s all vey good. The ambiance is delightful. The staff are completely professional. If you want to feel like a million bucks for the evening, Aston Martin or not, bring your date to H&I’s.
It was a wonderful experience. It was a special night for the two of us. We have reconnected after 26 years from our first and only date and 27 years from meeting. The time we spent together was made even better by our time spent with your incredible staff, great venue, delicious food and exceptional wine. Harry and Izzy’s is great place and it helped make our day perfect
Really great service, food was delicious. Portions are large. A little pricier than expected, but valet offered to hold our car while we went to show, and waitress went above and beyond by putting our leftovers in the fridge to pick up after we were done. Great location to Banker's Life Fieldhouse. Definitely recommend.
We enjoyed our meal, got the Filet and couldn't have been happier. Our server, Amber, was amazing and also recommended that we try to bread pudding. My wife said she didn't like bread pudding, Amber insisted that it was like nothing she has ever had and worth a shot. She couldn't have been more right! If you get it you can probably share between 4 people as we had a bunch leftover.
I have always enjoyed my visits to Harry & Izzy's both downtown and on the north side. This visit; however, was the least enjoyable in that my ribeye was not probably prepared with most if it raw. Our waiter was less than impressive. He seemed very knowledgeable, but his service was poor relative to providing us with bread, which he never asked or brought until I mentioned it. The length of time from us being seated to taking our order and also the length of time delivering drinks was long. I'm not used to this from Harry & Izzy's. I will definitely return, as it is one of my favorites in Indy. Maybe just a bad night for the cook and the waiter. To be fair, the meals of my three guests were outstanding according to them.
Business dinner with a party of 10. We were seated in a private room which was ideal. Our server, Doug, was amazing. Not an inexpensive place to dine but it was an experience. From shrimp cocktail and slab of bacon appetizers through dessert - lots of happy eaters. Our clients were very impressed. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.
We were seated at a two top in the middle of a passageway. Constant traffic from staff and guests on both sides of the table. They really crammed us in and it was not enjoyable- literally 4 ft from a table next to us. I had reservations and the restaurant was not full at time of seating.
Food was prepared well. Service was, as always, outstanding.
