Harry & Izzy's - Downtown Ratings and Reviews
We called a head for a reservation of 15 and they had our table ready at the correct time no waiting, Food and waiters were great and very informative on food and drinks. Food all came out together from the kitchen and cooked to everyones wishes. We recommend dining here for any occasion.
We had an overall fantastic experience. The servers and staff were extremely accomodating on a very busy day (big ten championship). The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great before the big game. Would highly recommend for any special occasion or fun night on the town.
We were having lunch for my husbands birthday. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, everything was perfect. Our server, Jordan, was extraordinary! Along with being my husbands birthday, it was also the day of the Big 10 Championship game. The place was pack, but we were treated as if we were the most important guest in the place. Thank you everyone for making this part of a magical birthday experience. We will be back!
Our experience at Harry and Izzys was not never good. The menu is extremely overpriced compared to the quality of food. I have had as good, if not better, steaks at Outback and Texas Road House, for half of the price of Harry and Izzys. Also our service was terrible. Our waitress, knew being only a party of 2, that her tip would be smaller based on our total bill. She gave us that service accordingly. I will never go back to Harry and Izzys nor will I recommend it to anyone.
A dissatisfied customer.
The service was severely lacking for a restaurant at this price point. We barely saw our server, never had a refill. The food wasn’t anything to right home about. I mean, the steak was good (as it should be for the price). However, both my husband & myself had cold, gummy mashed potatoes. No way to send back when your server doesn’t return until time to pay.
We came, we saw......we won’t return.
Harry and Izzy's did not disappoint. Friends were in town for the holidays, wanted something a little less formal than St. Elmo's...this place fit the bill. Shrimp cocktail always a must. Large portions that we actually ended up splitting. Not cheap, but delivered.
The hostess told us that we probably could not be seated before our 7:30 reservation. We sat for about 1/2 hour and waited. Meantime, two couples came in without reservations. One couple said "Wait time?" We said yes. There were there for probably 5 minutes and were seated. The other couple was too. So we questioned this and hostess said ok that she could seat us. We walked to table and there were three vacant tables around ours. Poor business.
The green beans I could not stick with a fork. The manager was kind enough to subtract from the bill. The waiter did not bring bread until we asked for it. He acted as though he could care less about serving us. Meanwhile, another waiter near us was very attentive to his customers and was at their tables several times.
Poor service and food was questionably just ok.
Top notch service- attention to detail- from reception to final bill-thx!
Food good, steak a little more done than medium but very tender and flavorful
Enjoyable special occasion. Four meals with one drink, 3 coffees, 3 delicious shrimp cocktail upwards $200. Background music could improve but sound level good for animated conversation.
