The food was delicious. The only negative is the quiche was very cold and was wasted by everyone at my table.
Overall we had an excellent experience. Our server Anna was one of the best servers we have had around this area. Michael the Beverage manager was top notch and very knowledgeable.
Look forward to visiting again.
Beautiful location and ambiance. Food was excellent as was the service.
Server went the extra mile to ensure our meal worked out as well as it could. Thanks!
As usual, superb experience all around. Staff is exceptional and hospitality always exceeds our expectation. It’s a brand new experience always and love coming here and bringing our friends to showcase the best of Virginia, in cuisine, hospitality and kindness of the diverse and most talented group of people. Kudos!
Went for a birthday celebration. The service was excellent. Iris did a fantastic job serving us and was particularly attentive! We all did the tasting menu and every bite was fantastic.
Very impressed with the level of service provided and the attention to detail. They truly thought of everything. Loved the outdoor firepit. They provided blankets and all the supplies for smores. Everything was very well done.
Ask to be seated at a table to be served by Donna. She has served us twice and she is terrific.
This was our first time dining here and it was excellent! The service was superb and the food was exceptional! I’d highly recommend it for a special occasion.
We had a great time... Our server was really helpful and described everything perfectly to help us choose! The food was outstanding!
Unfortunately it was an extremely disappointing experience. The food wasn’t impressive & the service was slow. The mashed potatoes lacked flavor and had an unusual texture. The mixed green frisée salad included walnuts that were rancid. The dressing was unbalanced & left the greens almost gummy. The staff was kind & helpful, but wasn’t extremely attentive to the table’s needs. We sat with empty water glasses for at least 20 min & had to request refills. For the amount of money spent on this dinner, it left us terribly regretful.
Everything about our meal was fabulous! The entire staff is customer focused and we were impressed with how they followed through on the smallest details- offering a “bench” for ladies to place their purses, offering a complimentary drink while we waited for our table, etc. The food is also extremely fresh and well done. We just wished we had room for dessert! We enjoyed every part of our dinner and are excited to visit again!
Amazing service and awesome food I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an awesome date night
We drove out here for Valentine's day. Was a beautiful place. It was a special five course meal with great wine pairings. The presentation and creativity of each course was different, but delicious. The service was impeccable. I would highly recommend this place for your special occasion, but would recommend ordering off the main menu, if the this am option.
The restaurant was elegant and the views were beautiful. The whole staff was polite and amazing. The food was very good and the restaurant had a good selection. I would recommend this place for a special occasion.
Service was notably excellent and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. Perfect for conversation. However, the food was just good, not great. We would definitely try it again, though, as it was enjoyable overall.
I ordered a bone-in fillet. The meat quality was not good at all; the filet was very tough. I also asked for A1 sauce, which came after waiting over 30 minutes. I decided to try to eat the filet as it was, as there weren’t many side choices too.
Also, it would be great if you have more organic choices; in an establishment like that, organic is a must. Additionally, I wanted to order another cocktail with my dinner too. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to as the waiter didn’t bother to come back to the table in a timely manner.
I ordered the bone-in filet, which was quite fatty. This fatty filet was also $60. Save your money and eat in downtown Middleburg. You’ll likely have a better experience, get a better meal, and not feel ripped off.
Can't wait to go back! Loved everything about my meal. The waiter was great as well! :-)
Went here for our 1 year anniversary. Lovely dinner! Service was excellent.
Over priced holiday menu. Charged for drinks on fixed price dinner.
We had our annual family Holiday brunch in Middleburg at Harrimans Va Piedmont Grill. Harriman’s has a great atmosphere and solid brunch menu. The food was good and would have been better if it were actually warm/hot. Our server was either new, not trained properly or didn’t care. He immediately asked for our food order before taking our drink order. We needed to ask him for everything and we felt rushed to complete our brunch and leave. We will definitely look for a new brunch venue next year.
I didn't have overly high expectations but given the $115 cost of the chef's menu, I have to rate the experience and food very poorly. While two of the courses were good, some were just plain below average. The scallops, cheese course and carrots needed some work. For the cost and attempted reputation, overall a very disappointing food experience. Also, I paid $45 for the wine pairings. This was a huge miss. Not only did they pour half the wines after I finished the course, but the pairings were often shockingly bad. Lastly, while I've usually found the pastry chef here to be fantastic, last night's dessert was truly awful. It was this burnt gelatinous fennel tasting mess. No discount was offered given the terrible wine service. Overall, this place needs help.
Our server Crystal was excellent and the food (pork chop, cheese plate, beet salad, and duck confit) was incredible. Everything was perfect.
Just average high end dining. No wow factor, nothing to really set it apart from other similar upscale places. Food was average, taste was bland. Service was outstanding very polite and courteous.
This is the "fancy" restaurant at Salamander Resort and Spa. Servings were on the large side and menu was varied and interesting. You have to try the "world's greatest chicken nugget" at least once before you die. Hint: it's not chicken.
This restaurant obviously aspires to 5 diamond rating
The menu is creative. Many wonderful options
The service was slightly overbearing
My criticisms are minor but annoying considering the price and somewhat pretentious service
My Proseco was served too warm and the cheese too cold
I complained about the cheese and was told”that’s how we serve it” as if I needed to be corrected
I asked how the chutney was made , as I am very allergic to mangos. An answer was promised but never delivered
Good food but needs some rough spots smoothed out
Breakfast was so good. Decorated for the holidays. Good vibe.
Food was delicious and service was perfect. Nice selections to choose from. Cocktails inspired!
Harriman's is a high end restaurant as far as cost is concerned. My party of 4 ordered appetizers, entrees and dessert. We had the caesar brussel sprouts which were very good and 2 orders of the burrata toast which was very bland. Our entrees consisted of a cod which was bland also, a seafood medley that was very good especially the shrimp and a asian spiced steak that was very spicy. For dessert we ordered the Chocolate / Pumpkin Cake which was good, the apple cranberry cobbler which was under cooked and the ice cream trio that was good also. Overall we all expected a better meal /experience at this restaurant. The service was good, but a little disorganized, at a restaurant like this entrees should all be served at the same time and the table should be cleared when everyone is finished. That wasn't what occurred in either case.
All good! Just do not recommend making a late reservation (9:00PM), as we were rushed to leave. Great place though / highly recommended. :-)
Hanger steak is amazing! Pinot Grigio is great. Service was amazing, each time I come here I continue to be impressed
Excellent meal. Unique, delicious food, generous portion sizes
Anna was wonderful in making our dining experience enjoyable. Food was excellent.
This was one of the best dining experiences I ever had. The food was awesome from the appetizer to the dessert. If you have not eaten here, you definitely need too.
Brunch array was very nice but I was surprised they messed up the macaroni and cheese particularly since the Mac and cheese in the salamander market is one of my favorites. Otherwise, very enjoyable, but pricey.
From the second we sat down at our table with a wonderful view we were inundated with fruit flies. Not just one here and there, but tons of them swarming us. As I swatted them away thankfully our server noticed and insisted we move to another table which we happily did and yes there still were fruit flies, but not as many. We did see a server put a dish of something at the base of the decorative trees perhaps to attract them? But I have to say I have never been to a high end restaurant where there was an infestation of bugs. And after reading reviews online others have reported the same issue...that’s NOT ok!!! Time to call in pest control people.
OK, so now we are at our new table and order our food and wine and request gluten free bread and the waitress is so happy that they can accommodate our request except that she forgets and never brings it.
Then we order a NICE bottle of wine and the sommelier comes to our table and says they don’t have our requested bottle but recommends two other similar ones. OK, we went with one of her requests and it was wonderful!
The service was horrendous as we never saw our waitress again once we placed our order and had to pour our own wine for the remainder of our meal!! I could have done this in my own dining room had we chosen to celebrate our anniversary at home. Nothing special about this place for the price that you pay. We were looking for a special night out...not waitresses wearing jeans with poor service. Salamander you better get your act together!
Took my wife and a friend of ours out for dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. Very nearly a perfect evening. The service was excellent, Anna H, our server, was wonderful. The cocktails and wines were excellent, priced fairly for the pour and the quality. The food was wonderful. The only minor issue, mentioned in couple of other reviews, was the attention paid us by fruit flies and a few of the ordinary house variety. I'd still recommend it highly for special occasions or a quiet business dinner.
This was a great place to celebrate my husbands birthday. The waiter was very attentive and the food was delicious. We would definitely recommend people to visit.
Our waitress and the entire wait staff was Wonderful!. My husband loved his steak but I have a very expensive! Lobster tail that was so over cooked it was rubbery. My fault for not saying something but it was my husband’s birthday and I didn’t want to make a fuss. Also, next time I’d request better seating. We were in the back next to the kitchen, this missing the views that Middleburg is so famous for. Salad and desserts were great!
