Overall a good meal, but not worth a $125 prix fixe brunch. I had booked brunch nearly 2 months in advance and was under the impression the Sunday Brunch was $79. When my group of 4 arrived on May 9th, which yes, is Mother's Day, Harrimans had a $125 menu. Nowhere on the website was it listed, and I even called and left a message and no one called me back to confirm my reservation. I pointed this out to the hostesses and they did not offer to make any accommodations. Restaurants should post their special price menus transparently on their websites. My group and I were OK with paying the premium price, but not all diners are.
We enjoy coming here for a special event! Whether it’s birthday or anniversary. This was our first Mother’s Day brunch and we love it!!! We will definitely come back for brunch!
Excellent service. Great food. Attention to details.
Food was just not good. Kitchen and staff were off. First steak was over cooked and second was under cooked. Sides had no real taste. Risotto was tasteless. Mushrooms were overcooked. Caesar salads were bland with non Caesar tasting dressing. Drinks were not good. Need better recipes and better skilled bartenders and chefs.
Amazing food and service! Our waitress even provided a blanket when it became chilly outside. Great day at Salamander!!
Always have a wonderful meal at the restaurant.
Naomi is very friendly.
Claudia is a wonderful server and always makes great suggestions for new items to try. She always makes us feel like family.
Lovely breakfast to celebrate my Mom’s birthday! The food, service, and ambiance were all excellent.
Great food and service. Thank you.
Best eggs Benedict, ever! Chacka, our server, was very attentive to all of our needs. Beautiful views from every window.
Service was fantastic, made us feel comfortable dining out for the first time in well over a year and of course the food was amazing. The team took care of everything and we will certainly be back.
Best steak I have ever eaten!
Lovely; we went for my cousins birthday and it was absolutely delightful!
My sister and I spent the night at the salamander and had dinner here. We were both blown away by not only the food, but the service, from every single person, was impeccable! Everyone was so kind and friendly and willing to go above and beyond. We chatted for quite awhile with the wine sommelier and enjoyed her company. We cannot wait to go back again soon!
This was our second time at Harrimans (staying at the Salamander), the first time we went we both got the daily dinner specials and were very disappointed, overall not pleased with both of our meals, especially for the price. The second time, we stuck to what the are known for and both ordered different cuts of steaks and wow, definitely the way to go and highly recommend any beef dish (app, entrée). Great meal and experience this round. Tad bit pricey but its what you would expect, everything at the Salamander is.
Chef’s presentation for the sea scallop dinner was very impressive! Waiter took our ticket for valet parking and the car was waiting as we walked out the door
We had brunch at Harriman’s and the food, service, and ambience were outstanding. If you have brunch at Harriman’s prepare to take food away. Food is served in various courses family style and the portions are very large. All of the food was delicious and Harriman’s staff does an excellent job boxing up leftovers which you will almost certainly have.
World class dining experience. The food is second to none and the service is just as good. Very nice place for a special occasion.
Great atmosphere, professional friendly wait staff and excellent food.
Our waiter was very good. He knew the wines, the menu, everything.
Had the 14 oz bone-in filet and it was excellent. The whipped potatoes will surprise you - a must have.
Overall great experience
The ambiance and location are great, especially if you’re staying at the resort. However, I was really disappointed by the food. My salad had way too much dressing, brown pieces of lettuce, and a large chunk of the root/hard part of the lettuce head. The steaks and sides were nothing to write home about. They were ok, but not memorable, especially for the price. My husband hated all the cocktails he tried. I would advise you stick to the wine however the pour I received was supstantially lighter that the pour at my neighbors table.
Nothing was right about the food. The oysters were not the ones we ordered. This next point may be hard to believe but a hearts of palm salad included no hearts of palm, just chickarie and onion. It appears they didn't have any hearts of palm, after we complained, and just tried to get away with fooling us. We then had the wagyu beef ribeye- the most expensive cut on the menu - and a piece that should be reasonably marbled. It was like a bad filet mignon, with no marbling whatsoever and nothing like wagyu beef. We complained again and were offered a free glass of wine. I will never go back to this restaurant.
Celebrating my husband’s birthday. Everything was excellent.
Everything was great! Service was wonderful. Can’t wait to comeback.
Lovely meal and wonderful service! We throughly enjoyed the four-course menu as part of a girl’s weekend getaway.
Delicious breakfast, outstanding friendly service, and a beautiful setting!
Another wonderful night at Harriman’s. The food, staff and overall service is all outstanding. Perfect for a special occasion or just a night out with friends.
The food was fantastic as always as was the service. The views are absolutely stunning from the dining room.
We loved our dinner. Everything was exceptional.
Amazing food, amazing service. We’ll be back for sure.
We celebrated our 20th anniversary with an amazing meal, wonderful wine and fantastic service. A bit pricey but worth it!
We stayed overnight celebrating my sister in laws birthday. I made a reservation at Harriman’s and was required to provide my credit card to reserved the table online. When my husband and I arrived for breakfast, we were told we had sit in the Piedmont grill instead of sitting in Harrison’s because a last minute decision was made to offer Sunday Brunch at 9am by the Salamander.
I don’t think eating in the Piedmont grill was worth $72.00, nor should we be forced to provide a credit card number to eat in a restaurant we did not reserve. We reserved for the Harriman and that’s where we should have been able to dine. The last minute change on the Salamanders part and not notifying the customer of the last minute change was unfortunate and not customer service oriented. It was disappointing as I was looking forward to eating in Harriman’s that had ambiance.
Perfectly fine restaurant at Salamander. Not any nicer or better quality than Gold Cup winebar, in my opinion, and I called around 5 times with questions about my reservation, no one ever got back to me. I know many places are short-staffed, but change your voicemail if you can’t contact people back! I wouldn’t make plans to eat here again. The service was nice, I’ll say that-very nice waitstaff.
Really enjoy eating here!! Great service!
Claudia is the best and makes us feel welcome.
Rest of the staff is very friendly.
We love Terry!! He was so delightful and he kept us laughing and entertained while waiting for our meal.
Went for my birthday. Loved it. Will return
We dined at Harriman’s in 2019 and found it to be an all around excellent experience. This time though we found it to be somewhat disappointing. To start Kennedy our server was excellent. Both of us had the foie gras as an appetizer, unlike our last experience the foie gras was short on taste, the corn bread it was sitting on was also bland. It appeared the foie gras could have been sautéed a bit longer. My wife had the octopus appetizer as her entree. Which she found to be delicious, Her request was for an entree size portion. What she received was an appetizer size portion of octopus, but with more beans added to fill the bowl. Considering the price she should have had more octopus. My bone -in filet was a disappointment. I ordered it medium rare and received it closer to medium. It also appeared to have been baked without being seared first, it was also a bit dried out The bearnaise sauce was on the runny side. My wife had as a side the risotto, which was very good. I had the sautéed broccolini which also was very good. Our dessert was excellent. As I indicated our dining experience in 2019 was excellent, this time around it fell far short considering the prices.
Ours was a birthday brunch for my grown daughter. The service was excellent, the food courses on the menu were excellent and the taste was even better. It was a pleasant surprise because when I went online to see the menu and make the reservation, Sunday brunch was not listed.
Loved our waiter Terry and the food was really good.
Great food and service. Excellent cut of New York Sirloin.
