Very great brunch! Can’t wait to go back.
My wife and I decided to return here for a joint birthday celebration. Food, service, atmosphere all were first rate. We'll be back!
Beautiful venue, GREAT service and great food. Will definitely visit again when in the area.
A disappointing experience. We had previously dined at this restaurant pre-Covid and it was truly magical in every way. This time around, the ambience and service was equally as spectacular, but the food presentation was sub par. The portions were also small, and therefore overpriced. The $195 surf and turf was sloppily plated and definitely not worth the price tag.
Pros: Great service from server, hostesses and sommelier. Beautiful ambience. Delicious cocktails. Desserts were very tasty and well portioned.
Cons: Small appetizer and entree portions, pricey entrees, poor food plating and presentation.
Food perfectly prepared. Biscuits ahhmazing. This place never misses. Great experience.
Great venue, meal and experience. Would certainly go again……..but can’t afford to go often.
The brunch at $75 per person is extremely expensive! The service was excellent, but they were not good about food allergies. They noted I had but allergies, but should have flagged different foods that I couldn’t eat. I had to ask which item had nuts every time and keep the menu out. For example- the dessert tray came and the Nutella tarts were mixed with everything else. Made for a risky experience.
We were at Salamander to celebrate my moms milestone birthday. Ate at Harriman’s our first night and then came back for breakfast the next day. Everything was lovey. Excellent service, perfect relaxing atmosphere to enjoy al fresco dining to the fullest.
Despite all wanting to watch our figures, we each cleaned our plates every meal. The only thing they should do differently is bottle up and sell that delicious hot sauce! After tasting it, we were enamored and couldn’t wait to put it on everything we touched. Incredibly flavorful with just a touch of heat.
We ended the evening with a complimentary dessert to celebrate my mom’s bday and then were given delicious truffles to end the night.
Maybe one of the best meals we ever had. The quality of the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We look forward to coming back as soon as we can.
The meal was disappointing we were looking forward to a wonderful eating experience but were let down. The service staff was excellent. The location was amazing only wish the food was better, especially for the price paid.
Outstanding food and service!
A family reunion and everyone was happy with the food, excellent wine and excellent service.
I have been to Harriman’s many times but this last experience was less than satisfying. The service was extremely slow and not very attentive/lacking focus which hasn’t been my experience in past. Also, the food was good but extremely overpriced for what it was. It seems to have gotten more expensive in recent years. The sommelier was lovely and had great recommendation, which basically saved the day.
Second time dining this summer. This time not as good as last. Went for brunch. Tried the frittata as a healthy option this time. It looked more like a salad upon arrival entirely too much arugula. The taste was bland . Ordered a side biscuit , last time very scrumptious this time overcooked. Hubby’s crab omelet was overstuffed with peppers more than crab meat. The side potatoes were over cooked with tough skin. The service was slow not like our previous visit. It’s a hefty price for less than perfect. The view was as always a compensation. Let’s hope things get more consistent.
Superior service from Patrick and Ian. Lamb was a tad undercooked and still enjoyable
Super nice restaurant for special occasions. When we went for dinner, my wife's scallops were very cold. When we went for breakfast, my Strawberry Shortcake French Toast was pretty disappointing. Sometimes trying to make things more fancy backfires and gives you a lesser experience. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the wait staff are very caring. They seemed a bit stretched though which led to service being slow at times. I'd go back but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there.
We visited Harriman's on a Wednesday evening. We were warmly greeted and seated with a nice view of the fields and mountain range in the distance. The food was excellent. We had a vegan eater and they were very attentive to tailoring menu items to meet that need. It was quiet and peaceful. Very attentive service. Biggest complaint - tried to contact the restaurant about reservations never was able to speak to a real person. Put into a hold system multiple times nobody came on. Unexpected for such a fine dining experience. Highly recommend.
The food was excellent. It was a wonderful experience.
We enjoyed an early dinner, which I recommend as the service was flawless. The chef created a wonderful fig, buttermilk foam and mushroom starter dish that was heaven. Food never disappoints here!
Great food, good service, but the view and resort are even better!
Good day, I had a lovely time at herrimans. Delicious food, hostess and waitress were very polite and smiled.
Brunch is price nicely. However, having an option for chef cut would be exceptional pork / beef / chicken/ seafood.
Perfect day to dine on patio.
Wait staff was amazing. Brunch assortment was good, beef ribs were too salty to enjoy.
Food was cold and they forgot my entree. I had the highest of hopes for this establishment having made a reservation, drove an hour, etc.
Harriman’s is amazing! From arrival to departure, every single moment of the dining experience was perfect!!! Every item we had was delicious, the sea bass was out of this world and the deserts are works of art! If you can, sit in Sally’s section - she is a role model for a perfect service professional!
Great food great service
A very enjoyable evening with expertly prepared food and outstanding service provided by every staff member we encountered.
Wonderful, friendly staff! Everything was delicious. Very intimate.
We visited Harrimans for Sunday brunch. The food was excellent. The ambience was very nice. Sunday brunch is family style dining. It was nice to have all courses brought to our table. It was an ample amount of food for our party size. We could not eat all of the courses in one sitting. The per person cost of the brunch is $$$. With that said, the experience is well worth it. Harrimans is an excellent option for special occasions.
Wow. Brunch was amazing. Who needs a buffet brunch anymore when you have multi courses at Salamander. We sat outside and it was simply gorgeous. Great day, thank you!
We arrived about 5-10 minutes early for our dinner reservation. We were made to wait the 5-10 minutes by the hostess station before we could be seated (even though the restaurant was nearly empty as we had an early dinner reservation). The waitstaff was friendly and knowlegdable...although our waiter repeatedly called us by the wrong last name (even after we corrected him). The steak was not prepared as requested (rare when medium was specified - steak was also fairly fatty). The lobster gnocchi was very good though and the desserts were amazing!!! We had a nice view as we had a table by the window.
The best part about Harriman’s is the consistency.
Great service as always Claudia
Naomi is wonderful.
The food was fantastic. Sally, our server, was one of the best servers we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back!
High class restaurant. If you want to splurge for a special occasion, or just don't know what to do with all your money, this is the place to go.
Always a pleasure to dine at Harriman’s. I introduced my two friends to Salamander for a special reunion. Anna and the young man who’s name I can’t recall but is an aspiring photographer took great care of us. Thank you.
Excellent food and service!
There were 4 of us first dinner. All of us really enjoyed our meals from the appetizers to the entrees. Two of my friends are vegan. They totally enjoyed the veggies.
My husband and I had such a wonderful meal at Harriman's recently. There are few restaurants in the DC area that exemplify such refined service and food that is superb in both taste and presentation. After finally being able to dine out properly after getting a Covid vaccination, it was a real treat to visit Harriman's. Everything we ordered, from the salads to the entrees to the desserts, was delicious...and just the right portion size. I highly recommend both the generously sized Local Greens salad with candied peanuts and aged cheddar and the Caesar Salad. We also loved our Signature Entree choices: the Maine Diver Scallops which are served in a large seashell amongst a "fog" of dry ice (beautiful!) and the Gnocchi with lobster and corn. Dessert was the icing on the cake, with both of us enjoying the Blueberry Madeline and work of art Milk Chocolate Namelaka. This restaurant is a must visit for a special occasion...or just a wonderful night out! And the resort overall is unparalleled.
I can’t say enough about our experience tonight at Harrimans. First and foremost, what a wonderful team. We walked in and literally everyone we passed welcomed us to the restaurant. Our server, Anna, was fabulous. Friendly, funny, knowledgeable, gave great menu and wine pairing advice… and when we couldn’t find room for dessert, sent us home with chocolate truffles. Ask for one of her tables and you won’t regret it… we will again, every time!
The surf and turf was an magical. A lovely cook on the 16oz tenderloin, but what I’ll really remember is the seasoning… as good as we’ve ever had (and we’ve had plenty). Topped with crab Oscar (flat out the best I’ve ever had) plus lobster tail and claws. It was absolutely splendid. We enjoyed the Hunter sauce in particular with it, and for sides, were thrilled with the mushrooms and potato puree (smoother than mashed potatoes, but with enough substance to stand alone… delicious).
For a fancy dinner out, you won’t find better. Enjoy!
We have enjoyed Harrimans several times and everything was excellent.
On two other occasions we were fortunate to have Anna as our waitress and therefore requested her for our Anniversary dinner. She remembered us and was courteous, attentive and knowledgeable
Unfortunately, our meals did not meet the past standard. We chose "Surf & Turf"
The lobster was good but overpowered by the sauce where drawn butter would have sufficed. We never never really found the crab and the steak was the quality of Giant Food, full of gristle and fat.
Dessert was also a letdown.
My wife and I hope it returns to the quality we received before.
Treated myself to a fabulous 50th birthday dinner by dining at Harriman’s for the first time. Everything recommended by my server Patrick was fantastic. One recommendation…it would have been a nice touch for my birthday to be acknowledged by simply writing “Happy Birthday” on my dessert plate. Didn’t need a song and Patrick did tell me happy birthday but that would have made it even more special for myself and I’m sure others who may visit for the same reason.
