The meal was fabulous and the service was perfect. We loved the little touches and extras. They took the time to create special details for our birthdays to make our dinner even more spectacular.

I had high expectations for Harrimans. The restaurant is beautiful and the servers and staff went out of their way to make the evening special. Very slow on drink order (over 20 minute wait for one cocktail). The food just wasn't anything special. The baguette tasted stale/ cornbread unremarkable. The menu was confusing. We order a scallop appetizer that was one scallop, again unremarkable. Risotto with crabmeat was nice/ nothing special. Halibut was fine/ not great. We also had foie gras which was especially bland. Very nice presentation and very smooth consistency just no follow through on the taste. It was like everything was just a little off. I loved the resort but we probably won't go back because of the food. It was almost like the chef was on vacation. Maybe it was just an off night?

Harriman’s is a total class act. The staff are the friendliest, most attentive and professional servers anywhere. The food is top notch, and the ambience is homey but sophisticated. We have never had a bad experience there.

The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Food appeared to be local and was full of flavor. Interesting combinations and a pretty diverse set of choices. It is expensive but you are getting a dining experience not just a meal. This is one of those times when premium pricing is understandable.

The service was slow despite the amount of staff on hand. I believe the food was overpriced.

We went for our anniversary and it was excellent. Lots of Mediterranean influence in the menu which i liked. Service was very good. No complaints other than it was expensive but what isn’t these days. I had the Halibut and my wife had the slow roasted lamb. Both excellent.

We have been coming to Harriman's for a number of years and we have seen an evolution of the food to be come more pretentious than good quality food. My wife and I had the lobster pasta dish and the sauce was over salted to the point it was almost not edible as well as served cold. The lobster was the size of a large gulf shrimp. These dishes are certainly not worth the money. Our son had the 6 oz filet, which was average, especially for the price. I ordered the octopus appetizer and it was severely undercooked. The only dish that came to the table and served hot was the side of roasted potatoes. This brings me to the service. While the waiter was pleasant we had to asked for things multiple times before he would remember to bring them. In one case, we never received what we asked. It is sad the food being served in Salamander's other restaurant (Gold Cup), which more causal food (bar food if you will) if far superior to what is being served in Harriman's. We had a similar experience for the New Year's Eve dinner. For a $450 dinner and celebrating our anniversary, this was a huge disappointment.
