Harrigan's Cafe & Wine Deck
Killer food and very attentive service. Great drink and wine selection. Definitely pricey for the area but the food is worth it. Great seasonal specials and the scallops were amazing! If this restaurant was not in Johnstown it would be packed every night. Hopefully this town gets it together so this place will thrive for years to come
The wine was escepcial! My family and I enjoyed a quiet lunch, and although we wished we ordered from the mouth watering dinner menu, the food was light which allowed us to enjoy the wine! Will be back to have one of those funnel cakes!
The roast pork and beef tenderloin were particularly delicious. We enjoy the variety of salads and cold plates.
Great Mother’s Day spread. Higher quality food than what we expected for a brunch buffet. A little noisy and desserts seemed a little mass produced, but overall food quality was great! Service was even better!!
Have been attending Mother’s Day Brunch for 20 years. It has become our family tradition. Roslyn the hostess goes above and beyond to make our experience outstanding.
Chloe was Our server and she did a great job
Plenty of food cooked properly waitress served very well seating was very close to reservation time even with the large amount of customers
Holiday buffets at Harrigan's are always special. We especially enjoy the amazing appetizer selection and this year the lamb from the carving station was one of our favorite entrees. Thank you to the chef for another delicious meal.
Perfect location for Easter Sunday lunch. We are extremely busy and unfortunately often do not have time to prepare holiday dinners. With most of our family out of town this year we were looking for a Holiday meal together for just my husband and me. Everything was excellent. The food variety and quality were outstanding as well as the service. I also appreciated the special touches with the Easter decor. We will absolutely keep Harrigan's in mind for future dining.
Although we moved back to the Johnstown area 9 years ago , we rarely dined at Harrigans . After a friends recommendation we made reservations on line for our anniversary. I was pleasantly surprised when the manager called the night before to ask me if i wanted anything special from him and his staff in honor of our anniversary . That was a special touch that I never received from any restaurant that I had dined at. The service , ambience , food and the personal attention from the staff made for a pleasant dinning experience and wonderful celebration of our 56th anniversary . Summing up , we've dined in some of the better restaurants in the metropolitan NY / NJ area and Harrigans meets there standards .
Very professional and respectable. Fast and easy service
Our waitress was awesome as always. The mussels were cold the lobster bisque was VERY SALTY. In fact the appetizers were so poor we passed on entrees
Service was atrocious and finally when I asked for the check the waitress asked if I can take the check and pay upfront because she was too busy and when I talked to the so called manager he didn’t see any wrong doing is asking customers to take their checks and pay upfront in a supposedly upscale restaurant.
Manager and crew worthy of Burger King or Wendy’s
Food was great. service could have been a little better, had to wait longer than expected to get refills on drinks. Took about 45 minutes to get our food but that was not a problem, we were enjoying the great piano music. I would def. recommend this restaurant.
Food, ambiance and service is as good as it gets. Lynn is a n excellent server and wonderful person. We will return many times in the future.
Sunday Brunch at Harrigan's is always a treat. Love the unique variety of foods!
Always wonderful buffet with live music
Christmas morning, good service, not busy
Our group has been having a before Christmas breakfast get together here for several years. Always a very enjoyable, relaxed time.
We were the only people in the restaurant. I was delighted , but feel not enough people realize the gem we have in Johnstown. Love the Christmas decorations !
Awesome setting and food! Live music is a plus! Extensive menu.
In spite of not being very busy, service was excruciatingly slow.
Pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of champagne for our 50th anniversary dinner. Seated at a table for two that was nicely set especially for the occasion and located away from the main crowd. Waitress was friendly, did a very nice job of handling everything, and was available when needed. Only issue was that my wife's Filet Mignon was about 3/8 inch thick and overcooked and they did not have the Chile Remoulade available that was described on the menu to top the Filet. Otherwise, a nice evening.
Awesome restaurant. We love the Sunday Brunch. Live music makes it a wonderful experience!
I’ve already wrote a review about how bad the service was. Our server didn’t Introduce herself. She’s bad language at the table and two children were present. We had to ask her for our drinks and ask for refills that we did not get in till after our meal. She bumped into my chair twice and left my coat on the floor. We were told that we got rolls with our meal but after asking her twice we finally got them after we finished our meal. We were told mix vegetables carrots And asparagus will be served but we never got the asparagus. I thought that a restaurant locked out dated and old. However it was clean the food was just mediocre
Although good we probably won’t go back. The hostess was absolutely awful. She was not welcoming whatsoever and told us to “stand over there” because our table wasn’t ready, although we were 5 mins early for reservations we had made. I went and complained about her attitude to the front desk and they were apologetic and even though they took my name and number for the food and beverage manager to contact me here it is 4 days later and nobody has even bothered to call to discuss the matter. I guess they have enough business that they can spare to loose 5-6 people at one table for brunch. On the plus side the food, server and music was awesome. I just don’t know why businesses/people think they can treat you however they like and you will just automatically come back. My husband and I work extremely hard for our paychecks and it would be nice to be at least have a hostess say “good morning...welcome to Harrigans” with a smile...maybe it’s me.
Overlooked gem in Johnstown. Our meals were very nice, service very good, wine options extensive (and a good value) and prices very reasonable.
Harrigan's is always good. Been there several times. Every time the menue was different. Food was well prepared, service was great. Prices reasonable. If you are in Johnstown proper, this is the place to go for dinner.
We’ve been to Harrigans before, enjoyed it before, and came back. The food was very good. It’s not your typical hotel restaurant. The menu reflects creativity. The preparation is excellent. The quality is excellent. This time they had a piano player during dinner. She was perfect and enhanced the experience. Two downs: our waiter moved way to slow but fortunately we were not in a hurry; and, Johnston continues its unfortunate descent to irrelevance.
Review of Easter Buffet: many choices for all courses, everything I selected was delicious. The vegetable variety was superb. Presentation was very appealing. Temperatures were good except for soup which was lukewarm. Seating was prompt with reservation; they have it down to a science how much time is needed between reservations. This buffet has become our Easter tradition.
Harrigan's never disappoints! The food is incredible and the atmosphere is wonderful. Brunch is always extra good!
We waited until 1130am for a buffet that was supposed to start at 11. Our waitress barely acknowledged our existence and we sat for 30 minutes before even getting water. The food was really good tho and once the buffet was set up it was very nice. I fully enjoyed the food, but for 3 people, a bill over 130$ after ordering drinks etc, I had hoped for better service. I ordered soda when we first saw our waitress and it came as we were paying our bill.... for the price we paid, I would recommend something else, like the backdoor.
New waitress, very nice but inexperienced resulting in a few gaps with our service. Quality of food was fine.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a lovely dinner at Harrigan's. Our server, Jason, gave us excellent service and the food was delicious. We highly recommend the lamb chops as well as the veal, both of which were cooked to perfection. Harrigan's will definitely be a choice for us for future outings and special occasions.
I have typically been happy with my experiences at Harrigan's. This did not prove to be a good experience as one of our diners bit into a foreign object that was in his Ceasar Salad with Shrimp. It was so hard that he thought he broke his tooth. The waitress could not have handled it any better and the manager took the meal off our bill but it still took away from the total experience and caused him to lose his appetite.
Went there for Easter dinner and decided to go back for Mother's Day because the food was so delicious and they had such a nice assortment of foods for everyone. We were somewhat disappointed with the Mother's Day fare - not as much of a selection in the salad or main entrees. The carved meat (only one available) was tough and had a lot of gristle, something I wouldn't not have expected and very disappointing. The restocking of the foods at the buffet was very slow and many servers were empty at times. After making the reservation on line, I called to see if a seat was available in the upper level of the cafe. They said they had none available for the 12:30 time I requested. I also asked them once I arrived if they could accommodate my request, they could not. In the time that we were seated, which was 2 1/2 hours, there were tables available and never seated! After having such a good experience the first time I was very disappointed that there was no continuity. The staff seemed a little irritated and not eager to assist. I will think long and hard before driving 2 hours to Johnstown for a mystery meal.
Pleasantly surprised. We were very happy with everything.
I've always avoided hotel restaurants. The food is typically a salty, sauce covered variant of something that sounds familiar but rarely comes close. Not so at Harrigan's.
The food was remarkably good. I ordered the turtle soup. Very good but not great as it was "missing" something. Both our dinners came with salad. Every salad ingredient fresh, especially the tomatoes. Beware of the house dressing. While it is very good, it also has a creeping heat. I loved it. My wife darn near died when she tasted it. She ordered the crab cakes. They well large and perfectly browned. She enjoyed them. I ordered the Veal Roulade. Very creative dish with tremendous depth.
Finally, our server, Mary Jo was remarkable. A sweet personality that knew how to serve a meal.
The Easter Brunch was quite spectacular in a setting that was perfect for a family dinner. The buffet contained many options for everyone's tastes, even those with food allergies.
Went there for Easter brunch and the food was amazing! The chef did a fine job in executing the selection of foods as well as the preparation- from salads, fruits, cheeses and main entrees. They also had a large selection of desserts. The wait staff was very attentive and accommodating. It was a gold mine in the middle of Johnstown. Still talking about the unique foods served. All enjoyed.
