Harold's Bistro & Bar - Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel
We had a casual farewell dinner with friends. Our server was exceptional. The food was very good. The fish and chips and hamburger were excellent.
Kids upset no more Mac and Cheese, but ok for waitress to offer other Cheese options
Met friends there
Service was a little slow, food was good. The table we had was a bench and felt to cafeteria style for a celebration
Went in for a quick dinner, the service was amazing and the food came extremely quick. It was a very pleasant experience and I would go back again.
Service is good. Bread pudding is phenomenal! We often just go to Harold’s for dessert.
The wait staff and overall service were decent enough, however both my partner’s entrees and my own left much to be desired: the Alfredo was under seasoned, chicken dry, & pasta undercooked, while my New York steak was over cooked, served well done (ordered mid) with carrots underdone.
Overall a decent try, but not worthy of a return in my books with subpar food & poorly-attended dinner service.
The dinner was ruined by an non-professional server for an unknown reason that she was hiding somewhere for more than 10 mins after serving the first drinks. The restaurant was not busy at the time. I went to the reception at the front to ask for services. The server dismissed herself from serving us with her choice and her excuse when I went back to the table.
Finally, the manager had to take over her job to serve us. He managed the situation professionally; and he treated us well with good services. Overall, the restaurant is not bad in my past experience.
Excellent food & service!
Thanks to Eliab who ushered us to our table and our server Nandini, my guests were so impressed! We enjoyed the breakfast buffet.Highly recommended.
Our meal was tasty, good comfort food in a pleasant ambience. Service was attentive and prices are fair.
We will have dinner there again.
chose to this place because looking for restaurant close to theatre for quick dinner
atmosphere is slightly better than a "cafeteria style". service was quick and friendly staff
Food and service was great. There’s just this one service crew who was overly too nice to my 3 year old. She hugged and even tried to have my daughter kiss her on the cheek. I don’t really appreciate that.
Excellent service and delicious food! Our faves, laksa and bread pudding!!! Service was excellent and friendly. Definitely coming back soon! Highly recommended.
It's a quality restaurant that like so many has poor acoustic design. It's a highly reverberate environment that makes it difficult to carry on a conversation without raising your voice.
Very good food and the service is fantastic. It’s good for work mingling and catch up with friends.
Went to Harold's Bistro before seeing a play at the Gateway Theatre. Parking is scarce and pricey although, if you remember to ask, Harold's will deduct the cost of parking from the food bill (make sure you have your parking receipt). The restaurant decor is very outdated - think 80s family restaurant. The food is basic. Again, think family restaurant. Not bad but not spectacular. Service was fine. Polite and prompt. Prices are good. Personally, I will not go back as it did not leave a lasting impression. But it's fine to try if you haven't already. Again, it's not a bad restaurant. It's average.
Once again I had the Veggie Burger but this afternoon it was nothing like the one from last night. It was not stuffed with grilled veggies as Friday night's. The waitresses in the lounge were gossipy & always complaining about guests.
The veggie burger is very good, but I came here for the beet salad which is no longer on the menu. Service was a bit slower than my expectations and my order arrived with onions by mistake. Waitress did not come by once to check on me until I was done eating.
It's been a few years since we last ate at Harold's, but our group of six felt neglected quite a bit of the time... We didn't receive beverages until over 20 minutes after being seated. Food was average with good temperature but brunch portions versus cost was not in line with other restaurants. Beverage refills had to be chased down. Based only on this experience we would not go back. Because we live local, and have been previously, we may consider another try down the road.
Food was okay but service is very slow. My guest saw a mouse roaming inside the patio area! That was very embarassing for me!
We generally eat In the restaurant; however, because of wasps on the patio we were moved to the bar. The service in the bar was no close to what we have come to expect at Harold’s given our many delightful experiences in the restaurant.
Spacious and great services. Quality of food is above average! We enjoy our time there as it is quiet and we can enjoy our conversation without shouting at each other.
One of our favourite places for weekend brunch. On Sundays, they have a special brunch menu with breakfast and lunch items that comes with coffee, tea, fresh juices, fresh plate and pastries. The service is usually good. There's been once or twice when our server was not a attentive. Look for Harold when you're there.
The food was great as was there service. Even got to meet Harold. I had a great steak, daughter had salmon and wife their famous meatloaf. Two exquisite local IPA’s too.
Generally the food was good. He soup was great but the crab cakes were dreadful. Just a mushy mess with no hint of crab. The butter chicken was good.
Delicious food, excellent and efficient service! Great for small get-together parties. Thanks to Shannon for her professional and impeccable service. Highly recommended.
Service and food are very good tonight
Great place for group gathering! The food was fabulous!
Great family restaurant with good food.
There was food all underneath the table from the previous people under the table our waiter Jay didn’t bring all our order the first time I had to ask him for the fries and took her bread when we had asked for more very disappointing evening even the food the desert the desert but I had tasted old which was the cheesecake about experience they took away Harold’s salad which we thoroughly enjoyed
We have a quick meal after some long driving. We choose few appetizers , calamari and pork and this was not very tasty specialy the calamari . It was more breading stuff than calamari. I took chicken quésadillas, pretty good . A little bit overpriced for what it was.
The food is always good. Service is excellent and our waiter was attentive and friendly.
The best part was we could have a conversation and not compete with loud background music.
Good location and we didn't have to pay for parking.
My sister and I came here for the Easter Buffet Brunch.
Food quality and variety is good but service needs improvement. After I was shown to my table I expected someone would come before too long to take orders for beverage. I kept looking around but no one came and I had to get the receptionist to get my waiter.
Service was friendly but not attentive. We had to get our waiter to clear the dirty plates after each round. If we did not ask, nobody would come. Same for beverage refills. Nobody would just offer without my asking.
About half an hour after we started eating, another waitress who did not wait on us just brought our check over. I guess she must be in the same team as our waiter. It would be nicer if they waited till we were almost done with eating before leaving the check on the table.
The restaurant was 3/4 full when we were there so they were not that busy after all. I was expecting a higher standard of service. Anyway we still left an ok tips buffet standard.
Again, they are friendly just not attentive. I will give the place a second chance.
We had a very enjoyable evening here with friends. Two people had the meatloaf that they said was delicious. I enjoy d the Cobb salad. The service was excellent .
The fine out meal was a little underwhelming... I had been to Harold’s before and the food was excellent. The appetizer was not described well and we were all expecting something different than what came( goat cheese flan). None of us were expecting a cold dish. The main was very good, good steak and nice mash and veggies. The dessert was very plain and not anything more special than a supermarket cake.
Overall the meal was still good but considering I had been there before with great experiences, this time was a little lack lustre.
Went here for dineout Vancouver. The appies were delicious. Unfortunately, it was only sample size which was disappointing. For the main I got the steak. It was ok. My bf ordered the creole shrimp. It was good. For dessert the white chocolate mousse had no flavour. The apple pie was great. The service was ok. Could have been better. Overall, I would not recommend this place for dine out Vancouver. It is not worth $30, especially for the sample appetizer size, you are essentially paying what you would normally pay for the entire meal.
We went for casual family Friday night dinner. Server is great - always with happy smile :)
I wish that on Sundays, your breakfast buffet will extend its hours to 11:00am? Thanks.
We liked the food options, value and quiet that we can listen and talk.
I have been to Harold's a few times with family. We usually have young kids with us and they are so accommodating and kid-friendly. We also have elderly people who dine with us and it is a perfect spot as it is a large space so it does not get loud so we can hear each other easily. The food is just OK, nothing exceptional, but the service is great!
