Best food I've ever had. Our waiter was unbelievable. Only drawback to this place is that it's quite expensive. So for regular folks it's more of a special occasion type place.
This was my first visit to the Hardware Grill, and I was not disappointed. Delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. I will be back again!
Amazing food and gracious service. We ordered the ricotta appetizer, the vegetarian tasting and the sea bass. Enjoyed every morsel.
I've only been here once before and had a good experience, so I was super excited to take my boyfriend here for our anniversary. I was disappointed though because our server was nowhere to be found the entire time, we and rushed to make us pay when we were finished. I hate leaving bad reviews but I was looking forward to this night out all month and it was just okay.
The food was fantastic! I had the sea bass....the price was worth every delicious bite!
Only issue was that our appetizer came at the same time as the entree. Putting the appetizer (truffle mac&cheese) on our beautiful entree plate was disappointing and put a damper on the experience.
Other than the entree issue....everything was perfect! The server was otherwise very attentive and personable.
For a first experience this was ok. Server was outstanding, delivery of food was slow for the time at which we were there. The atmosphere was fantastic and relaxed. I don’t mind paying a fair price for a great meal but this was really pricey for the overall experience. Would I recommend? Yes but with the comment that it’s pricey.
The Hardware Grill is our favorite fine dining restaurants boasting an exceptional room, atmosphere and menu with a number of great traditional dishes, seafood, fish and appetizers.
As always, the food was very good and very thankful to have experienced the smoked salmon and Sea Bass first hand.
Thanks again for a grand anniversary dinner, and the complimentary chocolates to finish were very much appreciated.
After a number of experiences, we've also recognized we have a couple of favorites tables and/or areas within the restaurant so we'll know to include specific requests within future reservations.
Looking forward to returning more often in the coming year, and in addition to celebratory dinners, we're excited to stop in more regularly for appetizers and wine pairings!
The food was good, expensive but good for a special occasion. Our food however was not super hot which was a little bit of a let down but overall a good experience.
Even better than I thought reading reviews absolutely amazing food and service id come back just for the salted caramel creme brulee! Our waiter was amazing and very informative when it came to restrictions on the food I can eat and offered delicious options and very accomidating.
I arrived at 4:55 pm Friday afternoon. I sat in the lobby for 5 minutes until I was sat at my table. While sitting in the lobby I heard about 5 F bombs coming from inside the restaurant. When I was seated at 5:00, I waited for 5 minutes at my table until I finally got up to ask a server for a drink. She told me she would send someone over. While I waited for the waiter to come to the table I heard several more F bombs. My waiter Lewis finally showed up at 5:08 to ask what I wanted to drink. He was brash and very unfriendly. I ordered a glass of champagne and waited for my friend to show up. Minutes later he dropped off my champagne. I was the only person in the restaurant. At around 5:25 my friend and I ordered some lobster risotto. When it arrived at the table we had a bite and sent it back to the kitchen because it was crunchy. It was awful. We then ordered some duck and they put in an order for another risotto. At this time we ordered a bottle of Amarone. We let the Amarone breathe while we waited for our food. Our waiter came over and poured our wine. Minutes before our food arrived our waiter visited our table and spilt a whole glass of Amarone in my Coach purse. All he said was sorry and walked away. I was shocked. I sat there for 15 minutes blotting all the wine out of my purse. When the food came Lewis dropped it off and walked away. He made no mention that he would send over a manager or do anything to compensate me for the wine bath in my purse. I was so shocked by the trivial attitude and disregard Lewis showed me. Needless to say I never had the chance to try the food cause I was too busy dealing with my drenched purse. I am incredibly unimpressed by the unprofessional service all around from the minute I walked into this restaurant. Perhaps this restaurant was decent at one time years ago. After my deplorable experience on last Friday night I will NEVER ever come back to this HORRIBLE restaurant. Dine elsewhere! YUK!
Excellent food, service and ambiance. There was not one thing we ate that wasn't amazing.
Absolutely perfect meal for my boyfriend's birthday. Our server Shane was awesome - very personable and funny and definitely made our night more enjoyable.
My boyfriend had the butcher's cut and it was the best steak he's ever had. I went with the Black Angus burger and it was the best burger I've ever had. Props to the kitchen staff, it truly was an excellent meal. The dessert was fantastic as well (and thank you Shane for the birthday candle!)
Overall, highly recommend for any special occasion. It's a real treat dining here.
Garry our waiter did and awsome job!! Food was excellent
Way too expensive. They asked to put a hold of a $125 per person on the credit card. And then it turned out that they charge you all that amount by forcing you with a 3 courses menu soecial for Valentine's Day. And if you ask for anything else, you pay extra. A dinner bill for 2 people comes up to $300. This is insane.
We were at Hardware Grill for a pre- Valentine’s dinner. We had a lovely evening -appetizers were good as were our meals. Dean was an attentive waiter. Good locale for quiet conversation, which is always a treat. We shall return!
Brett was a great server. Sometimes groups of middle aged women get ignored in restaurants- he was very helpful and provided excellent service.
Excellent! Food was fantastic, and very creative. Atmosphere was warm and inviting, bar selection was exquisite. Our server was friendly, charming, and made great recommendations!
Nice place however they need to change up their menu. It is the same menu from 2 years ago. Would like to see chicken dishes and more vegetables as part of the menu. Service was great!
We booked at the Hardware Grill on the advice of our AirBnB host. The food was amazing! Servings were good and the beef tenderloin was the best I've had. The restaurant opens at 5pm and we were headed to Rogers Place for 7pm so we couldn't stay for dessert. We will definitely be back when we're not in a hurry. Overall a great experience.
I'm not the type of person to write a review just for the sake of writing it. Compliments are not granted ,they're earned. This is absolutely one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. Whether it's the staff ,ambiance ,meal or location this place is top notch. Every last detail was perfect, that included large tasty portions and a quiet atmosphere. One of the top choices in Yegmonton!
Excellent Restaurant, The food and service are amazing, one of Edmonton's Best. Try the Sea bass you cannot go wrong
Great tasting food and amazing service. Our server, Brent, was just amazing!
Our server Brett was absolutely loveable! What a beautiful restaurant with fabulous staff. You feel pampered from the moment you walk through the door. I highly recommend this restaurant. Deliciously delightful!
Excellent food and service. We had the beef tenderloin and sea bass. Highly recommend these.
Great service, great food.
The waiter was very knowledgeable and respected our privacy.
Great choice for both red and white wines.
The braised beef and elk is to die for.
The salmon was cooked too perfection.
The lobster risotto was a big disappointment. The lobster was tough and flavourless. I also ordered a latte which came in a teacup sized cup and was not hot. My friend had the elk dish which she said was OK. For the price, I would have expected much higher quality.
We had wonderful attentive service. There was a steak that was not on the menu that was mentioned once we got served that was delicious ! I usually go for the bass but I tried the salmon this time. It was really good! Love the bass a little more tho if fish is your thing. My other son had the duck and loved it. Excellent service.
I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The service was wonderful, great cocktails and you can make it as intimate or as casual as you like.
I went for seafood most of the evening and it was a great option.
Our dining experience was perfect. Customer service and professionalism are felt throughout from the moment you walk in the door. We had the sea bass and the tenderloin and both we're fantastic! The biggest hit for us was our server, Brett. He's an expert in every sense of the way. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine list and the menu options, he was friendly and genuine.. but professional. Hardware Grill is on more expensive, but I would highly recommend it.
Every course was outstanding, from the appetizers to the main course to dessert. The portions are more than generous and the variety for main courses made it hard to pick. Recommendations are the sea bass and elk- you won’t be disappointed.
