Hardware Grill Ratings and Reviews
The evening at the Hardware Grill was worth every cent!! The main reason we decided to give this location a try because of the chocolate lava cake (Warm Soft-Centre Molten Chocolate Cake) which is nut-free due to allergies. Anyway, when we came in, two hostesses were very kind and quick to find our reservations and led us to the table. We met our waiter who was very accommodating due to our deafness... he was more than willing to speak a dictation to one of my friends' iPhone and we were able to pick up what the specials were and what he could do for us. His service as well as other wait staff were wonderful! They were attentive to our needs even when we did not ask for it. Before the aforementioned dessert, I enjoyed the handrolled butternut squash mascarpone tortellini as an appetizer and then the main entree: crab-crusted cedar planked salmon with potato gnocchi, aspargus, and mushrooms with sauce americaine. I enjoyed a pinot grigio wine to go with the 3-course meal. This is not the usual place I would go to on a regular basis but this is special for me and my friends to enjoy before the year closes out this month. What a Merry Christmas gathering with my friends enjoying great food!! Hope Hardware Grill sticks around for a long time!!! A gem in Edmonton!
We have visited the restaurant a few times over the past 15 years and have always been satisfied with the results. This is rare as many restaurants have trouble maintaining there the quality and they know how to charge they dont loose that but the quality often goes in the tanks. Congrats for a sustained quality product
The food was amazing. Scallops were probably the best I’ve had and the Elk steak/short ribs were awesome and very tender. If I have anything negative to say, it is that our waiter was a little slow checking in although she was very nice to deal with and very knowledgeable. I think the issue was not enough wait staff perhaps.
My wife and I dined out at the Grill on Thursday and were quite impressed with the service by Shane and our food was amazing. Thank you for a great experience and we will be sure to return and tell friends/family of the quality and service.

Outstanding as always. I met a friend who is a wine/food fanatic and when he comes to town he always insists that we eat at the Hardware Grill. The Sea Bass is as good as it gets and the service impeccable. A fantastic place to eat on any occasion (especially if it is followed by an Oilers game!)
I hadn't been to the Hardware Grill for a few year, and my husband and I went there for my birthday. The food was excellent and the service was good. The prices were a little expensive, but the quality of the food made it worth it. A very good dining experience.
Went for our anniversary last Friday. Online booking system was easy and sent reminders for our reservation. Service was the best in the city, very attentive and knowledgeable friendly server. Food was amazing quality and substantial portions for the price & given fine dining quality. Definitely new favourite place & nice large space- didn't feel too cramped. Would be great for large parties or special events as well.
Reservations were made at Hardware for my son Max's birthday. I am his mother and live in Toronto. I relied on reviews to chose and selected Hardware Grill for Max and his girlfriend to go for dinner. I made reservations and arrangements to pay. The staff were fantastic in making sure everything went well. Max and his girlfriend said dinner was soooo good. It was the best steak he ever had and said thank you.
I am passing along that big thank you.
Overall,it is a fantastic restaurant . The food is superb but a little pricey. The restaurant was quite full but the acoustics are such that we didn't have to shout . Service is attentive without being intrusive. The spacing between courses was perfect . At no time did we feel either ignored or smothered . We were seated at an oval shaped table in an alcove with room for 6 people for the 5 of us . Two had their backs to the wall, one on either end and one with her back to the room. About the only negative thing I can say is that the servers didn't go around the table to serve those along the wall but leaned over those at the ends to pass the plates . The gingerbread is absolutely superb . We had to increase our reservation by 1 person at the last minute and the staff were extremely accommodating. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Everything was wonderful. The only issue I had was that I got charged for sorbet that I didn't even order. My friend is lactose intolerant so we asked for the ice cream on the side for our gingerbread cake dessert. We got the ice cream on the side but also some sorbet. It was a nice gesture but we got charged for this which I found was odd. Other than that everything was amazing.
A very enjoyable meal with my husband. Our server was welcoming, gracious and helpful. For my meal, he kindly arranged a customized vegetable dish with the Chef that I very much enjoyed. Our server also offered a great wine that wasn't on the menu but after hearing our preferences made a suggestion that was perfect. I very much liked that the music was in the background and we didn't have to converse over it. A rare treat in Edmonton it seems.
We shared a small desert as our meals were so devine and ate every last bite. It arrived with a candle and a chocolate wish that made our celebration a little extra specail.
