   They closed their doors and we were never even told. Read about it on the Edmonton journal. Worst part is we have a big gift card and no one to contact about it. Poor way to go out. Beyond disappointed as this was one of my favourite restaurants

   What a way to go out of business - There’s nothing like accepting money and duelling out gift cards until the bitter end when you know you’re going out of business. There was no way to even contact them to attempt to get your money back either. I had a reservation the week they closed (which was made a month in advance) and they didn’t even contact me to notify me; however, I read about the closer in the newspaper instead which also provided no further information - what a disappointing and unprofessional end for a restaurant that was in business for 20+ years.

   When we arrived the doors were locked with a note that due to circumstances out of their control the restaurant is closed. When we received the dinner reservation confirmation the day before they were already closed. A call or text that they are closed would have been appreciated especially since we drove into town for this.

   Well let me tell you about this super awesome dining experience. Booked this restaurant a week or more in advance. Received a reminder email the day of the reservation!! When we arrive, we find the restaurant chained shut and a note saying they’ll be closed for the weekend! No communication to us indicating we wouldn’t have a table or a place to go on a birthday celebration. Extremely disappointed with the restaurant and the Open Table service. Pretty hard to find a place to dine at 6:45 on a Saturday!

   Lovely meal. Service, portion size, and ambience reminded me of dining in the 70’s. Since we were celebrating our 46th Anniversary, it was very appropriate. Food was interesting and well prepared. Would definitely go back.

    The Hardware Grill, is definitely an old staple in the Edmonton foodie circuit..It's getting a little long in the tooth. The industry is moving to small plates(Tapas) and sharing. The grill has a rather small sharing menu. It has a great wine list but the bar is a missing a fair bit when it comes to high end cocktails and whiskeys.. There's a huge influx of small independents right now that are producing a better product for your money..

    Great food, overall service was good my wife and I have noticed all the older men who have served us at any restaurant have a way of making the interactions a little awkward lol. Overall a great experience at hardware though.

    Hardware Grill is one of those bucket list restaurants. You should definitely go at least once in your life, if not more often! The service and food were outstanding!!

    Menu has stay the same over the years. Price has increased slightly but portion size has shrink significantly. Not good value considering it is top rated restaurant in Edmonton. I have gone there for years on a regular basis about 4- 5 times a year.

    Took my bride of 30 years to the HG. We had the Chefs table and it was really a great dining experience. There was no rush to the evening the food was exceptional. The wine pairings were perfect and it was just a outstanding night. We spent over 2 1/2 hours which passed like it was 30 mins. Can not thank the staff enough for making our night an great one. We will be going back to select from the menu as some of the dishes that came by us looked amazing.

    As this restaurant is one of my favorites in the City I decided to make it the place where I would entertain some out of country business guests. The food is always excellent and the sea bass was cooked to perfection. Our waiter, Clint, was very friendly and knowledgeable on the history of the restaurant. There is a good wine selection and the desserts are too good to be overlooked . Would highly recommend for a date night or special occasion

    The romantic ambiance, attentive service and incredibly delicious food made for a wonderful anniversary celebration. Both the tenderloin and elk were perfectly prepared and the accompaniments were well chosen to enhance the stars of the meal.

    Portions well plated and generous... My filet was a perfect blue rare I could have done without the accompanying sauce that garnished it as it hide the flavour of an otherwise perfect steak. I will know to ask next time... And there will be a next time. Great establishment!!!

    The overall experience was nice, relaxing and very friendly. Waiter did have bad breath and liked to get close when speaking, but was an amazing help. The food was great and you got to see into the kitchen which was interesting lol. We have been to many places, and this one is up there, but for the price of some was a bit much for the amount. I had the prefix menu and was super happy with that. Others at me table did not and it got quit expensive. I would go back again, and have told our friends they should go. Oh and it was our Anniversary, and its not like we expected too much, but even a happy anniversary sparkler in the dessert would have been nice lol

    As usual, a wonderful experience! We come here for our special moments, and have never had a bad meal or anything but fabulous service. Hardware Grill is perfect for an excellent meal, professional service and a lovely atmosphere. The waiters are always dignified but lots of fun. We love it, and it is that much more special because both of our fathers shopped at WW Arcade.

    Food was very good. Had an array of appetizers that were very tasty and the wine was excellent too. The service was good, but felt the lighting was too bright and it just didn't have that nice cozy feeling that made us want to stay for hours otherwise it would be a 5 out of 5.

    We enjoyed the hardware grill , had the sea bass dish, it was good but not up to the high quality we have had there before. Was sort of fried cooking oil flavours, not the pop of flavour we expected.

    This was our first time to Hardware Grill and won't be our last! We got two entrees, the bacon wrapped elk and crab crusted salmon. Both were amazing. The flavor of every thing was great and was all prepared perfectly. The sourdough bread and oil with salt to start the meal was also great. It was cool being able to see our meal prepared from the table we got. We were sat immediately upon arriving and being as we got there right at opening, it was quiet with only a few tables being used at that time. Our waiter was courteous and attentive, offering suggestions and making sure we were well looked after. Everyone we have talked to since visiting Hardware Grill has heard from me what a great experience it was. We will definitely visit again soon!

    It had probably been about 20 years since we visited the Hardware grill and decided to go there for my partner's birthday. The entire evening was a wonderful dining experience; the ambiance was calm and inviting, our waiter Shane was very friendly and helpful and the food was impeccable. The perfect place to go for a special occasion. I hope we don't wait so long before our next visit.

    We go to the Hardware Grill a couple times a year. As usual, the service was excellent. Great selection of food and it was served Hot which is good but unusual at most establishments. The other thing that stood out was we could engage in normal conversation and hear each other well. As food and service costs have went up in the last couple of years we expect the evening to be costly. This is the part that is prohibitive for going out more often. With tip we spent $240 - $60 was for wine. The only negative involves parking. We need to find a better place than CANADA Place to park.
