Since opening its doors in 2012, Harding’s has offered Manhattan's Flatiron District a selection of artisanal American cuisine and craft spirits in a chic and rustic setting. With an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients, Executive Chef Joel Zaragoza’s menu celebrates seasonal American fare. Harding’s also offers an extensive American beer and wine menu, as well as an array of classic cocktails handcrafted by the restaurant’s expert mixologists. Harding's Ratings and Reviews
Overall we really liked this place. It wasn’t busy but not over crowded. It’s definitely a restaurant and no table a bar. There is a bar but no one was hanging out there. Dead after 10 on a Saturday. Starters arrived alarmingly quickly they must just prepare them. All the food was lovely.
Overall a very lovely experience, the decor is simple and elegant without being overbearing!
Went for a triple date &arrived a few minutes late due to traffic, and they gladly accommodated us regardless. The food was terrific! We ordered fig toast, tuna tartare, veal meatballs and the virginia flatbreads, which all came fairly fast considering the restaurant was full. For entrees, we ordered the Strip steak, short rib, the pasta entree, and the roasted chicken. These took a little longer to come out, but that makes sense since these items take a bit of time to cook. The staff was always near by when we were ready for a next round of drinks.
Was very loud because there happened to be a holiday party (bad luck) and that may also have affected the service, which was slow, and the food orders, where the meat temperatures got mixed up and came out wrong. the decor was awesome but overall a disappointing experience for NYC’s competitive restaurant scene.
I walked in and nobody greated me.
No Hostess, no bartender, nobody. One of the men sitting in the bar said welcome (and that he didn't work there but was just being friendly).
When my friend got there we got a table, but the waiter was not to be found.
I had to look back several times to get someones attention.
We ordered and food took a very long time to come (salads?).....
Food was delicious, but I doubt if I will return.
Oh and it was 1:30 pm on a friday.
Our group of four for brunch appreciated the sanctuary of Hardings on a storm drive Sunday. We were seated as soon as we all arrived. Bar drinks ordered were transferred to the table. Our waiter was sweet and attentive at first, but lapsed several times during the meal. Had to ask twice for a spoon and sugar for my coffee. Food was delicious. Great brunch selections. Omelet perfectly cooked for my taste. The wine drinkers were happy with the selection. Breakfast chock full of warm goodies. If service were a bit more attentive I might bump up the star.
I have been a customer since it opened and it's gone down a bit. It was particularly slow Friday night and I was seated right away. The waiter was beyond aggressive. My companion and I were hoping to take our time and have a leisurely night - instead we were hustled the entire time and before we had thought about more food, another round of drinks or even dessert he had dropped the check on the table. Deciding it was better to go to another place we left and I commented on the experience to the manager who noted that said waiter was known for being "feisty" and said that on my next trip back he would like to get me a round of drinks. I appreciate the gesture but I can't say I'll be returning soon if that is the type of service I'll possibly receive again.
We had a great meal at Harding's while visiting local friends. The bartender was very friendly and knowledgable and created delicious cocktails for us to enjoy. We shared several different appetizers/shared plates and ALL were outstanding. The highlights were the lobster mac & cheese and the burrata with black truffle oil. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and very attentive. All in all we had a great experience and highly recommend Harding's!
We met good friends for dinner on a Saturday night and were so pleased with everything. Our waiter was friendly, yet professional, and offered suggestions to ensure each of us was happy with our choices. The food was abundant and creatively prepared, not to mention delicious! We agreed that Harding's was a "find" and that we would return soon. We left just as the live music was getting underway and I suspect that the ambiance changes from quiet and intimate to fun and lively. Recommended highly. You won't be disappointed.
Based on the reviews I gave Harding's a try. It is in my client's neighborhood. Hoping it would not be too busy after work on a Thursday I was right. We had a great meal of classic pub cuisine (I had the burger and my companion had the chicken). Good Old Fashioned and great selection of bourbon. Server was very pleasant and upbeat. Plus the rest of the staff, refilling water regularly and leaving us alone when we were in conversation. I will certainly go back and recommend to friends and colleagues.
I initially selected Hardings because I was looking for a restaurant that had good food and great cocktails and this place was recommended. What I found was food that was so much better than I expected with cocktails that were just average. The pasta and short ribs on the menu were excellent, as well as the fig toast starter. The old fashioned and boulevardier were watered down and didn't have much flavor. The lack of a big cube also diminishes the enjoyment of a classic cocktail. I would highly recommend this place for really good food and at a reasonable price. Stick with wine and you will be good to go.
Harding's is a very stylish restaurant with high ceilings and an attractive layout. The bar is particularly distinctive. The food menu is quite broad offering variety and good sized portions. Service is as expected at a place like this. This is a repeat visit type of place
I tried it because of the reviews on open table but was disappointed. Ambience was zero. Food was fair. Was very loud even though only 50% full. And it smelled like food - which seems strange - but I've been out to eat hundreds of times and have never experienced constantly smelling the different food people were ordering. Would be ok for a week night dinner with kids.
