Harbour Sixty Ratings and Reviews
Our two porterhouses were a bit overdone and a solid medium (not medium rare as requested) and underdone on the outside (not slightly charred like the Chicago style they say they specialize in).
The rapini was quite mushy and lacked flavour (as through it had been boiled rather than blanched and sautéed), so I recommend avoiding that as a side. The service was great, but overall the food was not as good in comparison to our last visit a few months ago.
Have reserved a table at this restaurant in the past and the dining area is spectacular. What OpenTable neglects to mention is that there are various seating areas. One is pretty much a dance club with music blasting in your ears the entire dinner. The table behind us decided that this was the type of establishment for a bunch of 10 year old kids who were yelling and screaming the entire night.
I would absolutely recommend NOT using OpenTable to book this restaurant, and instead just calling to get a proper reservation in the dining room.
I cannot thank you all at Harbour Sixty. The night was started there with three other girlfriends, we were happy to initially be the only table of women. The drinks were delicious and the food was incredible. Our thanks to Nick our waiter and the entire staff from hostesses to bus boys to wine steward etc.
We will be back.
We had been wanting to try Harbour Sixty for some time. With our 3rd Anniversary coming up we figured it was as good a time as any, after-all, Harbour Sixty seems like a "special occasion" type of restaurant. WRONG. It was a disaster from start to finish. I had made the reservation on OpenTable and noted it was a special occassion and asked for a nice table. When we arrived we drove around the back of the building where the valet is - the guy there was unfriendly and only spoke in one-word answers. He practically threw the ticket at me and we walked inside the back entrance where we stood until someone came along and asked us if we were lost - we said we were looking for the hostess stand and she directed us to the elevator and told us to take it up to the first floor - something the valet should have done. We brushed this off. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and checked in with the hostess who seemed frazzled. She told us our table would be ready shortly. After a few minutes we were summoned and followed a hostess to our table - it was a small table squeezed in between two other loud parties. Not what we has envisioned, but again, we brushed this off. It was at this time that I also noted no one had mentioned anything about us celebrating a special event, happy anniversary, etc. I would not expect this from just any restautant, but if you are a fine dining restuarant the details matter. Our server came over and told us he was going to give us some time with the drink menu. 20 minutes later we had not seen nor heard from him since his initial hello to us. We ended up ordering cocktails and wine from the somolier - he was a pleasant, attentive guy. When our server finally came back we ordered our food. He was a nice enough guy but he seemed super nervous and fumbly and totally out of place in the environment - but again, we brushed this off. The food would be amazing and make everything ok, right? WRONG again. Everything was cold and/or cooked wrong.
I had the truffle steak and eggs which is a 10oz prime tenderloin with one egg sunny side up and truffles. I asked for it medium but it was almost rare and didn’t bother finishing it because it seemed like too lean a cut for my liking. The sides are definitely amazing and the size of actual entrees -we ordered the lobster mashed and truffle Mac and cheese. The mashed is rich and a little too much salt for my liking but other than that, it’s delicious. The Mac and cheese pasta was cooked a perfect al dente and topped with a massive amount of cheese and the truffle oil is very abundant. Service was good -very friendly and helpful. The first table we sat at was in a dining area which was a little too intimate an environment for my associate and I so we asked to be moved to the gallery. The gallery was fairly noisy since it’s in front of the kitchen and by the bar where there were a tonne of Bay St suits drinking -we didn’t mind since it was brighter than the dining area. Overall it was ok but there are some other high end steak houses in the GTA that I would recommend to my friends, like Jacobs.
Just a few of the girls treating ourselves with a night on the town. Harbour Sixty was recommended by one of the girls. We were seated in a nice booth. Tom was our server...he was GREAT! He really knows the menued items and made excellent suggestions. He worked it out so that we could try alot of the app's and sides by trimming the portion size and trust me the servings are generous 😊 Tom checked in on us regularly to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Highlights include the Crabcake salad, Tempura Shrimp, Lobster Mash, Mac and Cheese and the Coconut Cream Pie for dessert. Make no mistake it's pricey but would definitely go back.
A fantastic restaurant -- one of my favorite steak houses in the world. I was a regular patron when I was working in Toronto 13 years ago and, when business took me back to the city this week, I couldn't wait to visit the restaurant again. I am pleased to report it's still wonderful. Everything about the meal and experience is exceptional.
We had a delicious meal near the bar at a high top, which we don’t mind, for our anniversary but about halfway through the meal, the staff started moving chairs and tables in and out of the bar area. By the time we finished our meal we felt like we were eating in a loading dock. Too bad because the food was delicious but the consideration for those dining was non existent. We left to have dessert and coffee elsewhere since the mood was ruined.
Won’t be back.
Dinner for 2, $500, I expected it would be pricey, so that's fine.
- Food was just ok
- Took forever to get the attention of the chatty waiter
- The seating/tables are very close to each other
- The decor is tacky, heard it used to be more refined like a country club, now its blue with white snake skin wallpaper.
- The patrons are pretentious and self absorbed and make it a point to let everyone around them how much money they made and what they recently bought.
Wasn't really impressed with the atmosphere very loud was seated by the kitchen where chefs we're yelling out their order, found our waitress very rushe!! It was my first time and last time to be honest no even cared to as if we were there to celebrate an occasion or just a casual dinner, I had mentioned to the waitress that was our 18th year anniversary didn't seem to care...
Always great steaks here and wonderful service. This time I was there to celebrate my love’s birthday... he loves the steaks here. Knowing this was a special occasion the staff went above and beyond with personable attentive service to make this a thoroughly enjoyable lunch.
Had a great experience at harbor sixtey. The servers are all super nice. We were seated near the bar so it was very loud and the table we were at had chairs that were too high to move in. So next time I would ask to be seated on the other side. Overall the atmosphere is really nice and the food was phenomenal, if you love steak of course. Very very good. I would highly recommend this place.
Great service! Our waiter was very informative and provided exceptional service. The atmosphere is perfect it's not too loud or quiet - you can have a private conversation and hear every word even from across the table. The food is pricey but it's worth every cent! The servings are BIG! So it's definitely worth what you pay for which is amazing because most places that charge a lot on a plate usually have small portions. Not at harbour sixty! I had the filet mignon 10 oz and I couldn't finish it. They know how to cook steak, it was delicious!! The only thing that would've made it 10/10 would be the seating. Since there were 8 of us because it was for a birthday dinner the table was really tight and there was not much room. If someone wanted to use the washroom, the person sitting on the outside of the table had to get up. But it was an amazing experience I would definitely come back as I would like to try the seafood and I'll recommend this restaurant to everyone!
