Harborside Grill at Hyatt Boston Harbor Ratings and Reviews
The view, especially at sunset when I went, was beautiful and perfect for a scenic or romantic dining experience.
The food was decent, but not great.
Our waitress, to no fault of her own, was very rushed and unable to adequately accommodate all the customers, resulting in a less than ideal experience, but props to her for holding down the fort!
We came here or a quick brunch with friends who were staying in a different airport hotel. I knew the Harborside was on the water and would be potentially a nicer place to eat. We were thrilled to find out how spectacular the view was, how delicious and abundant the farm to table carefully sourced buffet breakfast was, how friendly the staff was and how exceptional the overall experience was when we just had expected an airport lunch. We will certainly eat there again as a destination, not just as an airport convenience. Good for the Hyatt.
When we arrived they said that they didn't get any of their open table reservations and therefore we could not be seated on the outdoor patio because they were already reserved/seated. They said it would be at least an hour before we might get a table outside so we sat indoors where it was very cold. The waitress was very unfriendly and did not greet us for about 15 minutes after we were seated. We had some menu questions and she was unenthusiastic about the food and unhelpful. She forgot drink orders and did not check on us for long periods of time. After the food was served by another waiter she did not check on us at all--only to drop the check long after the meal was finished. The clam chowder was good but other than that the rest of the food was OKAY. I think the service and attitude of the hosts put a damper on the whole evening. The view from the restaurant is spectacular but unfortunately that was the best part. We were disappointed that they were unapologetic and/or did not attempt to accommodate us better since they had lost our reservation. We probably will find a better restaurant next time we visit Boston.
People think we're a little nuts when we invite them to meet us for dinner at Logan. Until they walk in the doors of the Hyatt Harborside, that is. The view is AHHmazing. Food is always delightful. The menu changes often. The long time servers are old-school and professionals. They remember us every time we go back. Save time for a walk along the water after dinner. You won't want to leave.
The drinks we ordered were great! I had the Cohito and Peach Whiskey, both of which had a perfect taste of just enough sweet and alcohol.
Muscles app were cooked excellent and the broth they were cooked in tasted great!
Fish tacos were just Ok. Tasted a bit bland and would've liked more spices or flavors incorporated within them. Server had an "I could less" attitude and could not explain the menu in more detail. Most of the night she was never to be found and we had to ask for service from the other servers.
I've had dinner at this location 2 years ago and I was sorry to see the performance decline... Maybe just drinks on the patio next time..
Looking to take my girlfriend out for a great dinner with an even better view and sadly the only good experience was the view.
The good, The view of Boston as I said was amazing. We arrived about 15 minuets before our reservation and had to wait a few minutes for our table which was ok because we were early. We got a few drinks at the bar and before our drinks were ready the table was ready which was the last good experience we had.
The bad, After being seated the waiter took our appetizer order very quickly then we waited 30 min for our apps. When they finally came out we placed our food order which then took 45 min to come out. Our original drinks we ordered from the bar were our only drinks we had during this dinner as once our food came out we did not see the waiter again not even to check and make sure the food came out ok. When he finally did come back to ask us if we needed drinks our dinner was gone and we told him that yes we would have ordered more drinks but we were ready to leave now. He offered no apologies and seemed as this is a regular thing at this restaurant. Very disappointing service for a place where the specials are $28-$35 dollars a plate. I don't even think the picture perfect view is enough for me to give this place a second chance.
My husband and I found this place via open table. Reviews, pictures and menus were all positive. Arrived at the restaurant later than our reservation however our table was still waiting. The service and food were great. The ambiance was beautiful. We are looking forward to going back.
Good convenient, comfortable place to eat while at the Logan airport to see -off or pick-up people. The food is varied and should satisfy a variety of taste buds. The restaurant offers spectacular views of the Boston skyline and is right on the harbor, allowing one to take a walk alongside the water before or after dinner. Self parking for dinner will cost about $5.
Father's Day 2015 and my kids had a TSA appointment at the airport. My husband had been wanting to visit the restaurant at the Harborside Grill at the airport Hyatt so we made a reservation.
The kids finished early so we got to the restaurant about 30 minutes early and were told we might not be able to be seated early and may have to wait until our reservation time. Okay...it was rainy so there was no outside dining and there must have been a conference at the hotel as anyone with a name tag received immediate seating.
So we waited and waited as others who came up without a reservation were seated based on availability and those with the elusive name tags were seated immediately. Although we did witness the female hostess being quite hostile to some of the walk-ups who revisited her to ask a second time when they might be seated. She could use a refresher course in hospitality!
15 to 20 minutes after our reservation time it was finally our turn to be seated.
The waitress seemed friendly enough. The breakfast menu was a bit limited and everything except for the oatmeal came with eggs. So, seeing as how my daughter didn't want the 2 eggs that came with her french toast my husband decided to order the oatmeal and have her eggs. We placed our order and waited probably 35 minutes or so to be served. Everyone's meal came except my husband's oatmeal. The person who served the food(not our waitress) said he would be right back with it. Just shy of 10 minutes later our waitress came to the table to tell us they were out of oatmeal...seriously!
Father's Day and the one who doesn't get his meal is my husband! She asked if he wanted anything else and he replied, just the check. 5 minutes later the waitress came back to our table again to ask if there was anything else we needed....yes, THE CHECK!
I did go over to calmly speak to the restaurant manager and tell him that our experience was " a BAD show". He was apologetic and took my name, no word back yet.
FYI-don't go here!
Had brunch here with an out of town friend prior to her flight. We had about 5 different people wait on us. But we still went long stretches without anyone checking in. At one point we had to ask the hostess For ketchup and butter. We never saw her again. The food (omelet) was bland. Had to salt it, which I have never done. Beautiful view and very convenient to the airport. Good Bloody Mary. Would go back for drinks to enjoy the view of Boston Harbor. Validated parking.
We enjoyed dining here. Service was fine, and we found the breakfast buffet to be excellent with many hot and cold options to choose from. Luckily, we had free breakfast with our trip, so we did not have to pay the hefty price. Lovely views of Boston, with the option to dine outdoors weather permitting.
Took my mom on water taxi from/to World Trade Center stop and went to have lunch at the Hyatt Boston Harbor. The lobby was mobbed with people waiting for tables, but that was smoothly handled. Once seated, took about (10) minutes to flag down staff to get a menu and drink. That was the only downside. Otherwise, fantastic food, and the best view of Boston in my opinion. As a local, I'll definitely go back for the view, if nothing else.
The view is great! It would be a great place to go when it's warmer out- they have a huge patio area with fire pits, etc. If youre not staying at the hotel but eating at harborside, your parking is $5. Major plus. Not sure if it was the night we went, but the waitress seemed rushed and it seemed like she wanted us to move along quicker than we were. Overall it was a positive experience.
Went here based on reviews not knowing what to expect. I can see why people who are staying here would rave about it. Great view, tasty food, very convenient. I probably wouldn't make a special trip just to eat here while living in Boston. The food is pretty pricey, and although tasty, it is just a restaurant in another Hyatt Hotel... not the prettiest atmosphere. The service was lovely and friendly, the drinks were yummy, though fairly weak. Definitely recommend eating here for those staying here or in the area, trying to eat a good meal heading to or coming from the airport.
The hostess was not at the hostess stand when we arrived for our reservation at 11:45 am. One of the waitress came up to help me and was trying to check off my reservation as the hostess came up. She did not acknowledge us but instead was chastising the waitress, Elizabeth (who turns out to be our waitress) about not changing our seats since they were all assigned. Needless to say the hostess did not make us feel comfortable. Elizabeth sat us at the far end of the restaurant which was beside the sink station for waiters with an obstructed view of the waterfront. We felt like we were thrown in a corner when the whole restaurant was practically empty. After sitting there for a few minutes uncomfortably, I decided to go back up to the hostess stand to see if they could change our table. Without a smile on her face, she reluctantly told Elizabeth to change us to another table. From that point on, we thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service, view and atmosphere. We handsomely took care of the waitress on our bill to show her our appreciation. I will definitely go back there but suggest that this restaurant gets a new host/hostess that enjoys their job and likes people.
My husband and I went here on our last night of our vacation and were very disappointed with the food choices. There just isn't alot on the menu. I ended up getting the chicken wings and they were excellent but I would have prefer something more substantial. The server Donna was good but overall we were not thrilled with the menu.
My husband and I dined at the Hyatt in honor of our first wedding anniversary. We had our reception at the Hyatt and there is a reason we always come back-the level of professionalism matches the sophisticated ambiance the Hyatt produces. The staff, service, food, drinks and last but not least the breathtaking views of Boston are undeniably the best there is in Boston.
It was only place to go since we got in late to Boston. We were staying at hotel, so it was convenient. Fantastic view of Boston over the water. Outside dining was a plus! Even the alcohol couldn't save the poor food! Not sure how their chowder won any award, it was lumpy and didn't taste good at all! My husband liked his salmon though. Waitress didn't listen to requests of leaving sauces off food.
We dined on the patio on an unusually chilly September evening. The hostess was amazing and the service from all was superb. The hostess brought my wife a blanket and quickly changed the tank on the fire pit when it had expired. The view is incredible--maybe the best in Boston. If you look at the old North Church, it is beautifully framed by the Zakim bridge and the bunker hill memorial. The food is just OK, but the service and the view makes up for it and then some.
Have eaten here before and been pleased but this week was a disaster. New dinner menu have very limited options. Our waitress was lovely but service from kitchen was awful. Waited 1.5 hours for meals to be served. Three out of four of us did not get what we ordered for side dishes. Food was over cooked and lukewarm.
Second time here first was for dinner and now sunday lunch late around 2pm.
The food is just wonderful, wait staff were marvolous. I cannot understand why I have never been there before but for sure will be back many times.
The view of Boston Harbor is spectacular.
Took my three teens for dinner. We shared some delicious choices from the tapas menu. It was a glorious summer evening. After a leisurely dinner on couches by the fire
Pit, We hopped on the water shuttle to the north end for coffee and dessert. Great conversation and a memorable evening....loved the chance to sit and enjoy an evening with my kids!
