Harbor Seafood & Steak Co
We wanted to create a neighborhood restaurant that gives our guests a sense of home. Our menu is based on simple comfort food, where the taste and quality stands for what we believe in. Founded by Randall Curtis & Taylor Jacobsen, our goal was simple: give our guests not only the freshest seafood and wagyu steaks but also serve an affordable wine selection and great artisan cocktails for only $8. And oh yeah, the music is great too.
This place is a gem!! The food, service and ambiance were on point. And that they were open on a Sunday evening...such a great experience all around. Will definitely be back and enjoy this wonderful restaurant again! Darius was our server and he was fantastic!
It was a busy Saturday night and the place seemed a little out of control. The waiter left us sitting too long after his initial visit. I liked the format of the menu, with many sides to chose from, but it is pricey. The scallops would have been great but they were too salty. The potato gratin was luke warm and gloppy. Chowder, house salad and mussels were all good. It is curious to have an exhibition kitchen that is so run down looking, with black tubing and old ventilation on display. I'll try it again, but perhaps when it's not so busy.
Our Server (Darius if I remember correctly) was amazing!!! Food was very good:)
Average, uninteresting seafood and steak fare; at perplexingly high prices. Wagyu beef was a nice feature ... but the kitchen couldn’t get the temperature even close to right... medium was a bloody, dripping mess of meat. Not a good sign for a restaurant trying to build its rep on steak. The sides were uninspired and not very pretty to look at. The roasted golden beets we’re just a plate of beets...They tasted good, but you’d think they might get the idea of doing some sort of garnish so that they don’t look so crude. The macaroni and cheese, supposedly one of their signature dishes, was very disappointing – there were chunks of unmelted butter and poorly melted cheese thrown together, without any blending. Dessert was so bad it was funny. It was one of those microwave chocolate lava cakes with a scoop of nearly melted caramel ice cream on the side...they say they source their deserts locally from bakers in Salt Lake City – I’m guessing this one got sourced locally from Costco). Don’t fall for the hype. This is a very expensive and disappointing restaurant.
We love Harbor! My favorite are the scallops and the cobb salad! Excellent ceviche and knowledgeable, friendly service. Don’t let the weird location deter you as the food is tops!
Sooo consistent we keep coming back!!
Some of the best food and service in SLC.
The food was great and our server did well. The hostess wasn’t very friendly but we didn’t have to see much of her. The food was very good. The restaurant started to get loud when it was full. We sat at a small two-person table and it was hard to hear my friend. But the food was amazing and worth it.
Good food and service. Prices were too high for the quality of the food. Ambience and lighting could’ve been improved. Steak and scallops were cooked very well. All food was seasoned appropriately. Table for two was quite small and felt a little cramped. There was hardly room on the table for two appetizers and a couple of plates. Overall, it was a good dining experience, but definitely has some room for improvement.
First time visiting and it was a great evening. Drinks, appetizers, and entrees were AMAZINGLY delicious! We could not have asked for a better experience. It is a little on the pricey side but we understood that before we came.
Christmas Eve dinner was delicious. The decor was classy yet festive. Thanks for a great family dinner.
Fantastic food! The steak was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful, but the winner at our table was the Korean short rib - simply amazing!
Best restaurant in Salt Lake City. Whole team is amazing and food is amazing.
I had a 4 oz filet with lobster tail, au gratin potatoes, and brussel sprouts. The sides were delicious, lobster was perfect, but I ordered my filet medium and it cane out well done. My husband ordered the wagyu ribeye steak with the same sides. His steak was unexpectedly a poor quality cut with a fair amount of sinew. He ordered medium and received a rare sear. He could not eat his steak, but enjoyed the sides.
The service was very good. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about all of the entrees. The restaurant is very noisy and it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Overall, with the poorly cooked steaks and noisy atmosphere, we will not return.
Great, as always. By far the best steaks in SLC - far better than from the better know steak houses.
Good food, well prepared, great service, nice vibe but very busy and noisy even on a weeknight.
Absolutely excellent!. We have never had a bad meal at Harbor. Randall and his team always provide an amazing and diverse menu, a top shelf wine and liquor menu, and a to-die-for dessert menu. And because he is so committed to providing the best experience for his patrons, Randall often works as wait staff, making each of his customers feel like they are the most important person in the restaurant. Highly recommend.
My Wagyu sirloin was maybe the best steak I’ve ever eaten! Our server was also very attentive and super friendly.
The food was fantastic, worth every penny. Our server Missy was the best. It was a wonderful evening for my wife and I. We can’t wait to go back.
I was craving some fresh seafood, found this place on yelp. Customer service was fantastic! Had the oysters and clam chowder for starters, I had the seared scallops, my husband had the halibut and we switched out both sides except for the beets. It is a little steep for prices, that is only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars, and I just felt like more sea salt could have been added to the dishes. But there is no salt at the tables so that was the other reason.
Harbor is great for ambience, food and cocktails. I’ve only had great experiences at Harbor since they opened. I refer all of my friends and family if they’re looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or just for dinner.
Had the crab cakes, added scallops and lobster as sides to our wonderful grouper and rib eye entrees. Yummy! Excellent service by the staff.
I've wanted to try Harbor for many months now as I drive past it on a regular basis. I finally got the chance on a weekday night. I had a reservation, but I don't think it was necessary as the restaurant never got that busy. The atmosphere was very nice. The service was great. Lots of employees for the amount of guests. The alcoholic drinks were very nice as well. The food, however, was good, just not great or exceptional. For the amount of money paid, I would go elsewhere. My boyfriend got their ahi tuna and said it was really good. I got their rib-eye steak and it was just OK. Not alot of flavor honestly. I had the rib-eye with sides of brussel sprouts and mac 'n cheese. I like the mac 'n cheese the best. For dessert we tried the warm chocolate cake with caramel ice cream. That was delish! All in all, though, I'll save my money for a different place.
Excellent cheeseburger with crab cake topper!! Creme Brulee pound cake never disappoints!! Yummm!
The service is always great. I've never had a bad experience here and I've been coming here for years. Do yourself and order the calamari if it's in season.
Always treated well, food is amazing, and am never disappointed!!!
Love this place.
Tried the Hawaiian Swordfish Special last night and it was outstanding. Scallops were great too! Good drink menu and the server was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Great atmosphere. Great service. We had a fun night but it's way too expensive and the sirloin was chewy.
Fantastic in every way!
Among the best restaurants in Salt Lake for quality of cuisine. Cocktails are full-sized and fabulous and service is friendly. We were unfortunately sandwiched between diners with high-decibel speaking voices last night, though, otherwise noise level would have been fine. In warm weather, patio seating is a wonderful experience.
We always love Harbor. It is a go to for us on date night or for a special event. We went for a birthday and even though we opted out of dessert our server brought us a little scoop of raspberry sorbet to share. I had the small filet, my fiance had the scallops. The portions are the perfect size. The grilled Bok Choy is so good. I was full but I had to finish it. Highly recommend anytime you feel like a steak or seafood. The food is always very well done and the service couldn't be better.
My meal at Harbor was one of the best I've ever had! The ceviche was delicious, the entree was hot and fresh. I had the salmon and the best side was the butternut squash mash, but all of them were really good! The Head Chef Justin and his crew does amazing work!
The ceviche was perfect. The steak was a bit chewy. Sides were great. Overall pretty good, but next time I will get seafood not steak!
Place was packed. So we expected some delicious food. And it was! But unfortunatley everything else ruined how good the food was. The noise level was way to high, we had to yell to talk. The room was freezing. The service was hit or miss and slow. He'd walk near and look around, but he should have come to the table and asked if we needed anything. Overall the price for the food was high and had the other issues not have happened, it would have been worth it. Not going to go back.
We love this place and go there often. They change up the menu as the seasons change and we appreciate that very much.
Absolutely amazing dinner. I don’t usually like fish, but the mahi mahi was spectacular. Our waiter, Darius was extremely friendly and made the experience even better.
Our waiter was fantastic and well versed in what the restaurant has to offer. I had the wagyu sirloin and ordered it medium rare. I have NEVER had a steak so perfectly made. The taste and texture was phenomenal, the food here really makes you slow down and savor each bite.
Food was amazing. Atmosphere was loud. Menu is high priced.
