Harbor Seafood & Steak Co. opened in August 2014 and is located on the corner of 2100 South & 2300 East in Sugar House. Since then, Chef Justin Jacobsen has been serving quality interpretations of classic dishes with the highest level of ingredients.

We wanted to create a neighborhood restaurant that gives our guests a sense of home. Our menu is based on simple comfort food, where the taste and quality stands for what we believe in. Founded by Randall Curtis & Taylor Jacobsen, our goal was simple: give our guests not only the freshest seafood and wagyu steaks but also serve an affordable wine selection and great artisan cocktails for only $8. And oh yeah, the music is great too.

Calamari was excellent. My daughter had the mahi mahi and really enjoyed it. My ribeye steak was decent, but a little fatty. Overall we enjoyed our experience and will definitely return.

The food is fantastic. I rate it as the best in the Salt Lake Valley.

However, the noise level is very loud and it is tough to have a conversation across a table.

The food options were very limited and the steak options were poor. If you do not like Wagyu then your out of luck as this restaurant only offer 3 options of Wagyu. Being a Seafood AND Steak restaurant, only having 3 steak options is absurd and should absolutely offer Prime rated or grass fed options in addition. The Artichoke dip appetizer was very sweet and caught us off-guard as we weren't expecting that type of taste, however, it could be likened to the right person. The steak and green beans was undercooked and only "okay". The waiter, Jordan, forgot to write down our appetizer and moments after we ordered he came and asked if we were going to put in an appetizer, not to mention we were his only table. He was obviously under educated on the menu and the ingredients of the dishes as every question I asked him, he simply just agreed with me and repeated the ingredients that I thought were apart of the dishes. I also recommend that they change their chairs or add a back cushion, very uncomfortable. On top of this, as we were watching through the glass into the kitchen, my wife pointed out to me that a cook was smoking his vaporizer right in the middle of cooking and once he made eye contact with her he ran out into the back, knowing he was caught doing something he shouldn't!

For the price point of $140 for the 2 of us, I expected at the very least, a pleasurable experience. Unfortunately it was far from that and we definitely wont be back. Very disappointed.

It says Steak and Seafood, but stick with the seafood. Chowder was awesome, lobster tails were top notch and perfectly prepared. There are better options for steak.

We were looking for a last minute New Year's Eve dinner and decided to try this restaurant. It was not clear from Open Table that the only menu available was a fixed price $80 dinner. I did not want to go out into the cold to look for another restaurant, so I just resigned myself to the high price. The bill was nearly $350 for 3 people. I paid less for a set of new tires for my car! The food was ok, but the dining room was very cold, they had space heaters running and cold air was blowing through the emergency door where we were seated. The waiter was very nice and accommodating, but I won't come again. The price point is just way too high for the quality of the food. I'll save my $ for something more spectacular.

Started with crab cakes and a cocktail. Crab cakes were excellent. Had house salad, which was large sized, with the house vinegrette that was also tasty. I ad the Norwegian halibut and my sister had the Korean bbq ribs. Both were terrific. Ended the meal with two desserts and French press coffee. Overall a great decadent experience. A hidden gem in Sugarhouse.

This was our fourth Christmas Eve dinner that we had at Harbor, and I think it will be our last.
To start, the hostess was rather rude and condescending when we asked if we could get a different table after she wanted to seat us at a goofy make-shift setup right in front of an emergency only exit door.

The food, which had been so very good in the past, was rather lackluster.

And lastly, the prices have gone up considerably!
We shared one appetizer, we each had our entrees, one person in our party had only one beer with dinner (no wine or cocktails), and we all had dessert.
For comparison, last New Year's Eve, at Finca, we had a five course dinner (that was outstanding), with a different wine with each course, and we paid less that what we did at Harbor.

Our waitress was pleasant, but not really that helpful or attentive as others have been in the past.

Overall, it was a disappointing evening.

We had a great dining experience (AGAIN) at Harbor. We don't mind paying a bit more for the excellent service, innovative and absolutely incredible food. Our Server Sergio was knowledgeable, attentive and never annoying or absent. We would highly recommend it!

With a glass of wine at $15+, entrees at $40+, I think
It was way overpriced for the quality of food. Had a much better experience at Current Seafood and Market Street for half the price. Wine was half the price for the same average wine offerings. We all had seafood and the
Maui Maui was dry as was the special my son ordered.
The clam chowder was the best part of the night. Should have stopped there and saved $150+

Our waiter, Darius, was top notch! The food at Harbor is always well prepared, and fresh. They keep the menu updated and change it often. It's great to have the flexibility to mix up your sides and add seafood options to every dish. Who doesn't love a side of crab added to their mac & cheese?

This was our first time at Harbor Seafood and Steak, but we will be back. We staryed out with generously sized appetizers of mussels and tuna tartare. Both were full of flavor. Entrees were waygu beef filet with broccolini and macaroni and cheese. The filet was perfectly cooked and enhanced with a peppercorn sauce. The mac and cheese was outstanding! Like the best we have ever had. It was hot and creamy and cheesy - melted in our mouths. The only disappointment on the plate was the overcooked broccolini. The large scallops were nicely browned and served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and a side of golden beets mixed with prosciutto. Everything on that plate worked. Too full for dessert but I can recommend the Holy Roller cocktail.

4 of us went to dinner to celebrate Christmas and we were wow'd with the food, drinks and service. Everything was truly wonderful. The entrees and sides were so tasty, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Our waitress recommended a creme brule' pound cake that was light, yummy and perfect sharing. We can't wait to bring other friends there to celebrate something.

We were celebrating my best friend’s birthday..I noted this in the reservation..as well as when the person called me to confirm. But at dinner, there was no acknowledgement of it..no candle on the dessert or anything. We didn’t make a big deal of it, but it was a little disappointing.

I'll not visit Harbor Seafood and Steak company again. It's overpriced. If I'm paying $40+ per entree, I expect the dish to be cooked immaculately. Both the halibut and the seabass were overdone. The sides were bland and forgettable. I have no faults with the service. I think Current offers better prices for much better food. The tables are very close together, enabling shared conversation with your neighbors whether you like it or not. Spend your money elsewhere.

Lovely setting and great service. The clam chowder was overwhelmed with bacon flavor. The calamari were superb. The Scallops were cooked to perfection. The fish and chips were perfect. It's certainly in the upper tier for quality but a little on the expensive side.

Fantastic experience! My husband and I had never been and we were looking for a memorable, unique evening together, since we don’t have many date nights lately due to littles. This restaurant fit the bill. They made you feel special and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend!

Stopped in Harbor Seafood & Steak after seeing the good reviews on yelp. The restaurant happened to be very close to my hotel.

Just the luck of the draw that the restaurant was a bit overwhelmed by a party of 20 that was just being set up in the bar area when I arrived. I was seated right away but no staffer met me until after that big party was seated. It seemed that this party table had been reserved but all of the patrons arrived prior to the reservation time and caught the restaurant off guard.

My salad and wine were just a bit delayed. The wedge salad was excellent.

My dinner order also got stuck behind the 20 person order. Consequently, the wait for my meal was about 45 minutes.

My filet didn't come out until after all 20 meals of the big party were delivered. This was about a 45 minute wait. But, kudos to the chef that he did not rush my steak due to the wait the big party created. The steak was cooked to perfection and served sizzling hot. The fresh green peas were perfect as well. My meal was very definitely worth the wait.

The meal was a bit pricey but the quality of all of the food was definitely worth the price. You should definitely treat yourself to a special meal out at Harbor Seafood & Steak.

This place is usually great but last night was not up to par. Server was nice but not warm. The burger I craved for over a week was fatty and the bun was soggy. Fries were not crisp enough. Wine glass was brought to me with fingerprints. Woke up in the middle of the night with a stomachache. Just not what I expect from Harbor.
