Harbor Lights Ratings and Reviews
Went on a Tuesday night which was perfect as it was not crowded and my elderly mom and friend could hear! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. Even got a bottle of wine 1/2 price, which was an added bonus. I recommend going during the week when it is quieter, unless you are looking for a busy atmosphere! Great service as well.
My friends and I had a super wonderful time. It was my birthday. The waiter was really nice and with his French accent, very sexy :). The food was outstanding. We just felt so comfortable. Then three desserts were brought out to celebrate by birthday. The fondant was delicious! It was just a great night overall. Thank you for making it special.
We have been to Harbor Lights several times and have never been disappointed. The food is always excellent. The service is always professional and very nice. The location and ambiance is great. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is truly a gem and I'm glad it is in Norwalk!
The food was great and the atmosphere inside is very nice. It’s in a great location, wish they had some lights on the water now that it gets dark so early because the view is wonderful.
It’s been around a while but is very dependable in service and feeling updated. The food was extra good on Friday when we ate there.
We planned on meeting friends visiting CT from CA and asked around for some good suggestions. Our neighbor recommended Harbor Lights so I made that suggestion to our friends. When I called her, she said that that was the restaurant that a friend of hers also recommended - so we decided to try it. It was wonderful! Food was great, the view was wonderful and the service was excellent. Will definitely go back again!
We haven't been here in a few years because the menu was stagnant and the food was just not that special. But because of the great view, we put up with it for many years. But on this most recent visit we have to say the food was definitely much better, though the menu still hasn't changed much in the past 20+ years. We will definitely start going back more regularly.
I was lucky and pleased to get a table for two only 24 hours ahead, for a Sat night at peak time. I was very well taken with the food and our waiter was excellent (once he arrived). The wines by the glass were unremarkable. It was a peak serving time, but we had to wait too long to (1) have drink orders taken, (2) have the bread arrive, and (3) have used plates removed before the next course. I would recommend but only for those who will buy a bottle(s) of wine, not by the glass.
My friends and I were seated immediately after being given several seating options, both inside and out. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was excellent. The ambiance was delightful and the price quite reasonable. So many great options on the menu -- I will be back.
Special get together with friends. We had an excellent waiter, can't recall his name but he was French. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the pan seared salmon with lemon risotto which was delicious. A couple of our friends had the oysters rockefeller and loved it. We all enjoyed our meals, the service and the view.
The place was just ok. Our waitress was brand new but did an adequate job. The place is priced like a higher end restaurant but without higher end food or service. Our red wine must have been 80 degrees. I asked to have it but in a bucket of ice for 5 minutes.
Brought my wife there for her birthday dinner. We both like dining near the water. The menu had a nice variety and was reasonably priced for water front dining. My wife had oven roasted sea bass that she loved. I had a steak that was prepared perfectly. Good wine selection. The staff was friendly and our waiter, Sebastian was very attentive and wonderful. We never felt rushed. We like to enjoy a glass of wine before ordering he caught on to that and made our dining experience fantastic!! We will be back
Service was very poor. Our server was assigned to large parties in the rear (we were in the front) and she was totally overwhelmed and inexperienced, though she tried hard and it was not her fault. The two hostesses were worthless and did nothing to expedite service or ask how everything was. Though on the water, the scenery was more parking lot on one side and marshland on the other. One of the ugliest decors I've ever seen, very unappealing. Food was very good but overpriced. group next to us was very loud and crude, probably all drunk.
Not a pleasant place to go. would never recommend.
This was an awful experience...
the service was absolutely horrendous. Server brought my wine before our water and forgot my husbands iced tea. But she brought bread before the drinks came out. Wasn't told about specials. Servers demeanor was weird. We couldn't understand anything. Then I had some reaction to my dinner. Maybe undercooked tuna or burnt sesame seeds? The food was not worth the money for sure. Maybe a teenager cooked it?
Delicious seafood, very good service, nicest tables in warm weather are on the patio, down by the water, a beautiful spot for dining, conversation and watching the boats glide by! Our dinner there felt like a mini-vacation! We will be back and bring friends! Large windowed dining room on the water is appealing too.
I ate outside with high school friends. The restaurant is pretty w/a scenic view. The service was terrible. We waited a long time between rounds of drinks and for our food. We had to ask three times for our bill. While the view is pretty, the smell of gas from the boats was aweful. I'd eat inside should I go again
