A good restaurant with a quiet and romantic feel. Although location is not very appealing. Nonetheless the dining experience was very pleasant.
we celebrated Valentines Day great food, service and ambience
Good, but not great. The food quality was below average. Our salmon was fishy and while there was an abundance of seafood in the seafood casserole, a lot of it was a dense fish of unknown origin. The seafood casserole also lacked flavor. The staff was nice and attended to our needs, but the overall experience was just "good."
Had the surf and turf. The lobster was rubbery and obviously not fresh. The clams casino were all bread crumbs and no clam. The bread was very dry and not even warmed. The waitress had no personality. What a disappointment the food was and very expensive.
Dinner was delicious! One of the best lobster bisques I've ever had, and then Mediterranean bronzini on a bed of vegetables and olives. Pumpkin cheesecake was excellent as well.
Yummy food, good service and great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
food and service were good but they just didn't time the meals right. My Belgium waffles were cold. Everyone one else in our group had salads so there was no issue there.
Really nice food. Although our appetizer could of been better, the raw clams were really good but the crabmeat was still frozen, that was not too great. Otherwise the dinner was good.
Harbor Lights is one of our "go to" restaurants in the area. The food is excellent , creatively prepared and consistently delicious. Service is courteous , friendly and accommodating.. The entire staff is always welcoming and we are never disappointed. If you have not been, go, go, go.
We really enjoyed the entire experience. We had the Swordfish special and Oysters Rockefeller. I recommend Harbor Lights for anyone planning a date.
The ambiance and the food made our holiday dinner very special. We started with the fried calamari and ended up ordering a second one because it was so good. The lobster risotto was delicious and filling. Everything was fresh (so important at a seafood restaurant) and portions were definitely not skimpy. Our only regret was we didn't leave room for dessert.
Had family visiting for the holidays from Georgia. Brought them to Harbor Lights for dinner. They both loved it and can't wait to go back when they visit CT again this summer. The food, service and ambiance were all outstanding!
We went for a quiet lunch and the setting, overlooking the harbor, was perfect. The food was very good and the service was terrific. We will have to return to try other items on the menu.
My husband and I had a wonderful time Saturday night. Lucky for us the restaurant was quiet. Our appetizers (lamb chop lollipop and lobster bisque) were delightful and our fish dishes were lovely, flavorful and creatively prepared. We shared the "Ekmek" for dessert and loved it! We look forward to visiting again, but remember, we are spoiled, the winter seems quieter than summer!
All the best!
Food was wonderful and the service!! Went for a girls night and we had a great time! Love Harbor Lights been going for many years!!
We love Harbor Lights and have been dining here for many years and have never been disappointed. The staff is very welcoming and the service is excellent and very accommodating. Sebastian, our waiter, is five-star. The food is consistently delicious and creatively prepared and presented. The water view setting is beautiful and relaxing. It's a sleeper of a restaurant that more people should know about because it's one of the best restaurants in Fairfield County. Please come and find out for yourself and then spread the word!
it was an excellent overall dining experience.
The Friday after Thanksgiving, we greatly enjoyed the food, which was well prepared, fresh, the right temperature and a variation of typical restaurants. The view overlooking the water was also a pleasure. However, all of this was soured by the unfriendly and noncaring waiter and other service providers, who made us feel that we were a burden. When I received a different soup than ordered and asked for the right one, it seemed to be a major happening. Too bad: Good food and location, but poor service.
I went here for Thanksgiving dinner with family. The restaurant was quite busy, but the service was still good and fast. The lobster and corn chowder appetizer was excellent and the turkey dinner was very good. Overall I was very happy with the meal. The only slight negative is that it was quite loud inside.
We have dinned at Harbor Lights on many occasions and had very good meals there. On Thanksgiving however the meal was not up to their regular performance neither was the service. I realize that they were extremely busy with clients but we waited patiently for 20 min for water. Our server pretty much ignored us for the time we were there. Never asking if we wanted coffee with our dessert, another drink, how was our dinner, etc. Dinner quality was not on point. The duck was like eating rubber, the fat was never rendered and the skin was not crispy. The turkey was hard and crusty from over cooking and had a weird orange sauce. The rest of dinner was ok, but we will not return for a special occasion.
Harbor Lights has long been one of our very favorites places to view the water, the animal life and the quisine is always verier and exceptionally good , including the way it is served and the people that serve it!
I went on Thanksgiving for the first time, I understand the crunch for time but I felt my waitress had no interest in serving me and gave me the check before I even asked or was really done with my dining experience.
We were at Harbor Lights for Thanksgiving Dinner. The place was crowded and noisy, as we expected it would be on a Holiday. We arrived at our reservation time and were promptly seated. It was a limited menu and the food was delicious and served efficiently, despite the hectic pace for the servers. Will return again, in a quieter time for a relaxing dining experience.
Very good food and excellent desserts please make one or two great vegan or vegetarian 😀
we had a lovely Thanksgiving meal at Harbor Lights. There was a pre-fixed menu with lots of choices. service was excellent and the food outstanding. we had leftovers and enjoyed them. we will go back again to see what else is on the menu!
Went to eat there on a Monday night and there was nobody in the restaurant. Thought it was because of the early hour, 6pm. However, when we left there was only one table for two that was occupied. The food was not great, but the bill was.
Wonderful views of the harbor, airy space and great for a family lunch, service was impeccable too.
The food was absolutely fabulous and the ambiance was outstanding. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Food was great. Waiter was wonderful. We had a lovely birthday dinner.
It never disappoints and the view is wonderful even on a cloudy day
The new patio allows one to dine literally waterside. The patio is a great addition to the terrace. The food is great which makes it an absolutely great dining experience.
We really enjoyed Harbor Lights! Great spot to dine on the water - a rare thing around here.
Food is absolutely wonderful and fairly priced for how fresh and ample the servings. I do find their wine by the glass prices a bit expensive. House Chardonnay for $15 / glass excessive in my view. Need to find a lower price point.
We had a lovely dinner at Harbor Lights, but were initially seated outside where it was too windy and then moved to an indoor table by the bar with no view. The waiter was outstanding, very professional. The space was noisy. The seafood was excellent, but the rib eye was not so good. If you go, make sure you are seated on the porch with the view unless the weather is outstanding.
Food was good, but restaurant is very loud.
Good food choices - very tasty. Restaurant is pretty - nicely decorated. Good service - pleasant and attentive waitstaff. Nice view of the harbor. Parking readily available. Will definitely go again for a nice dinner.
so some nights are truly magical.. And our dinner at Harbor Lights was one of those.
We came before sunset, the patio was great, the food was great, the service was great.
There was music from the Oyster Festival across the Harbor which added a level of fun!
My husband ordered the branzino, they didn't have the kale, for the side, (which was fine with him) he asked if they could switch to potatoes- the waiter came back out and cutely said absolutely but he needed his greens as well!
What a great spot to go with friends, family and enjoy a lovely evening.
The Tuna special and Lobster Bisque were great. My Orange Roughy was just OK. It's a sweet little place right on the water with twinkly lights. Parking was rough, very narrow lot.
Food was overall below quality. wait staff was helpful and A+. I wont be eating at this place again. Not a great lunch.
Went for a special occasion and food and service were superb. They couldn't have been more accommodating. Love this restaurant.
