Harbor House Ratings and Reviews
Celebrated our daughter’s engagement with dinner. Although it was a bitter cold night the ambience felt warm as did the welcome. The entire staff made it a special night with extra touches. Delicious raw bar and seafood. Thoroughly enjoyable evening added to the wonderful memory.
Surprised at poor service. Many times in the evening we needed to ask for water. Also we were celebrating a birthday so they brought a dessert which was nice, but not unexpected. The issue is others in our group wanted coffee and dessert too. The staff took too long to bring menus and then come back to take orders. We opted for no desserts for others. Overall not the fine dining experience we were hoping for.
Our go-to spot for special occasions. Always great food and attentive service. The view of the Milwaukee Art Museum and the lake, even when frozen, is an added bonus. They gave our daughter a birthday dessert with candle without being asked. Nice touch. Highly recommend it.
The only thing that made the experience unenjoyable was the table we were sat at. The table was a two person table near the aisle, when we requested a table next to the window. We felt very exposed and had to watch out on either side to make sure we weren't in the way. Food was outstanding, worth every penny.
Went with family of 6 for New Year’s Eve - my wife had the special which was good. My youngest daughter had the kids burger which was standard - I had the yellowfin which was excellent and my brother in law had the ribeye which was phenomenal - the beet salad was great also - my older kids both got surf and turf with filet and 1/2 lobster - that’s where things took a turn - the filet was good but lobster was very rubbery and frankly didn’t taste fresh. My kids usually go crazy for lobster but neither really had much at all. We’ve eaten there many times and will still go back but will certainly be hesitant to order the lobster again!!
I loved this place! My food was phenomenal, worth the drive. The service was very friendly and prompt. My only displeasure was that there was very little space between tables. More than once, items were almost knocked off the table due to the lack of space. People's bodies shouldn't touch tables. Overall though, this place was amazing, my food was incredible and the atomoshphere was upscale and delightful.
My experiences at Bartolotta restaurants have steadily been going downhill for years now. Harbor House is just not up to standard. The menu is extremely underwhelming. Rather limited fish selections, for a fish restaurant. And very expensive. For the price, quality and service should be much better. The tuna I had was fair, but tasted very grilled. It lacked imagination. One member of my party has scallops. The one I tried was good, but the other party member said there was a lot of sand in one. And again, very expensive, for what you get. The location and view are top rate, but overall, I won't be back soon.
We went for Anniversary. We walked up and were greeted with a nice smile from our Hostess. Took our photo, made sure we were comfortable, and gave us an amazing table for our anniversary.
Chris our waiter was amazing (and tall) lol. Food was amazing as always. I love Harbor HouSe! Even got us dessert to celebrate and we made the ballet on time.
This was my Mother's choice to celebrate her 91st birthday. I would have to say my chief complaint was the service. Specifically, the lack of a"warm and fuzzy" feeling you might expect to receive in a highly regarded restaurant. The food was just so-so. This is not a star in the group...
