Harbor House Ratings and Reviews
My boyfriend and I had this place on our restaurant bucket list for awhile now. This was the perfect place to try to celebrate Valentine's. The service and atmosphere was excellent. Everything from the crab cake appetizer to the wine we chose was amazing. My boyfriend enjoyed his filet and the Teriyaki salmon I had was delicious, as well. The desserts sounded decadent, but we were so stuffed we didn't get one. I can't wait to come back and try this restaurant during summer so we can enjoy the lakefront! Definitely give this place a try; you won't regret it.
We were fools for having a business dinner on valentines evening...
Had 7:15 reservation, wasn’t seated until 7:30
Service was nonexistent. To wit: sat for 10 mins before waiter stopped. We only saw him maybe 5 times throughout whole evening, and each time was 15 mins between stops minimum. Then my wife picked up her water glass- literally just picked it up to drink- and it exploded. Water, ice and shards of glass everywhere. We sat for 5 minutes like that and I couldn’t get the attention of any staff member. Then without any acknowledgement (like “oh goodness, sorry our glass was so old it blew up on you”) waiter picked up the glass but left the soaked tablecloth and ice dripping the rest of dinner.
Food was exceptional, view always great.
But apparently Valentines Day snuck up on them and they were severely understaffed.
An excellent Valentine's Day experience for my wife and I. Larraine loved the half-dozen assorted oysters, and I thoroughly enjoyed the crab cake. We split the perfectly broiled double lobster tail entree and finished off with a couple of coffees. Perfect timing for everything to get us on our way to the theatre.
My partner enjoyed the Maine Lobster & his champagne. Avoid the Sea Scallops and don't get drinks with cinnamon. Neither of us like Key Lime Pie so we were surprised to LOVE theirs!
Attentive & personable staff had no problem keeping up with Valentine's Day traffic.
The food at Harbor House was very good. Best fish sandwich I ever had.
The service was, to put it charitably, leisurely. More appropriately paced for a dinner than a lunch. Why should lunch take an hour and a half?
I was glad to have received a birthday card with a $20 coupon, because that's about the only way I would go there, with their prices.
The food was great! I had the beet salad and steak and lobster and my husband had the shrimp cocktail and the steak and salmon. I would definitely get the beet salad again and my lobster and steak were cooked perfectly. My husband loved that the shrimp were were very large and cooked perfectly and his steak and salmon were also delicious!
We have been to this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. It's also a great place to give gift certificates for. I highly recommend it for great atmosphere, excellent food (at fair prices) and an excellent harbor view anytime of the year. Do yourself a favor, dine here!
Great oyster bar. The Cioppino was good. The shell fish in the Cioppino were fresh and tasty however it was on the salty side. The decor and view are really great, however it is unfortunate that the model four masted ship next to our table was so badly damaged. The service was great and I wish I could eat there more frequently.
A very nice restaurant with a great location. Our server was excellent and very quick to make 'amends when I got slightly annoyed and saved the day. The lobster pot pie was NOT a lobster pot pie. Tasty but just the plate was just a stew-like lobster concoction with a 2-3" high puff pastry crown. I was looking for the pastry lining the pot to soak up juices and be creamy.
