Harbor House Ratings and Reviews
View was amazing. Service a little slow. Food was okay. However, the messed up the tab and their card system overbilled us by quite a bit. It took a couple of days to get it resolved, but it was resolved. Parking validation did not work, but it was too late to fix when driving out.
If I go again, it will mainly be for the view.
Beautiful patio dining. Views of the water, harbor lights, good heaters. My shrimp scampi was insanely delicious. My husband had the old standard “fish and chips “. He raved about them. The restaurant was like an “old school”coastal restaurant but It was a superb dining experience. Not crazy fancy or overdone but nice and a little nostalgic. Two thumbs up.
We came here last year over the New Year's weekend and enjoyed the food and ambience. We were coming back this year over New Year's and I made a reservation 2 months in advance and asked for a window table. When we arrived the people in front of us said they had no reservation and the staff said "no problem, we can seat you on our heated porch". We were next, they confirmed our reservation and my husband inquired about a dining room window seat. The staff person said "sure, we can put you in our heated patio". Really? With the people with no reservation when I made reservations 2 months in advance? He took off and walked us by three tables in the main dining area with no one in them (by the way, two were empty until just before we left). We looked at the patio and said no thanks. There was a very small table at the main door to the patio (yes, right by the kitchen door) and he sat us there. It took 10 minutes for our waiter to show up and the door to the patio was open so a cold breeze was blowing on me in addition to getting to hear everything going on in the kitchen. After our food arrived the waiter noticed i was cold and offered to shut the door- thank you! As i started eating dinner the front desk guy came through and propped the door open again. My husband got up and shut it. My filet was over cooked. I asked for medium amd confirmed what that would be before I orderes it. It arrived almost well done and tough. Overall an under whelming experience. Not worth our time or money from a service perspective or food perspective.
We had a lovely Christmas Eve Dinner at the Harbor House. Our meal was very delicious. The only disappointment was when we got
Home my father realized he did not have calamari on his galley plate, We did not catch it during dinner since we were having a great evening but the chef and server should have caught
I have dined at The Harbor House Restaurant many times however this past visit was on Christmas Eve. Dinner was awesome. Service was A+. Great view of the harbor as well as view of a beautiful sunset. I have never been disappointed with the food and service at this restaurant. The staff is wonderful and the food is always delicious. You just can't beat the beautiful views from anywhere in the restaurant. Anyone who I have taken to The Harbor House Restaurant has always been very pleased with the dining experience. I'll definitely be returning again soon.
Worst service ever. Waited ten minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were sitting at the table. Waitress assigned to our table finally came up to us and first thing she said was "ya ready to order"? No greeting, no info about menu, no asking about a drink order, nothing. The service did not improve from there - ruined our entire evening. We had to request bread when we were a table of six. Had to remind her about our drinks; finally came right before dinner.
Table was half inside, half outside of the patio area so some of our guests were freezing. Several times had to ask for heaters to be placed near us or turned on. Waitress just kept disappearing despite we appeared to be her only table.
My 84 year old mother is visiting from New Jersey and we wanted her to see the Parade of Lights boat show. We had a great table with a perfect view of the bay. The food was so good - I had a seafood risotto that was delicious! My Mom had the crab cakes and raved over the jalapeño roumalade that was served with it - she loves spicy! We will be back!
Restaurant was great. But the parking was too pricey. We had our ticket validated by our waitress. And we gave to attendant and he advised we owed $11 for the 2 hours we were there. I thought that a validated ticket would be free and attendant said it would've been a lot more without it. That was disappointing for us. Is this something the restaurant can do anything about? Thank you
I was very disappointed! We went there for a non -traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I called ahead to ask if they would have lobster on that day, because that's what I specifically wanted. They told me yes they would be serving lobster. I also asked if we could have a water view with our reservations. When we got there, the place was half empty, but they still tried to sit us in the middle of the restaurant. I had to have a conversation in front of my family about getting a water view, because it was part of a surprise. Then they had no lobster! I only splurge for this kind of meal once or twice a year. I was really looking forward to the lobster! Drinks were way to strong, had to send them back and have a coke. After the salad, had to wait forever for our food to come out!! Lady serving us came over once to see how things were ,but stood right next to our table waiting for her tip! I'll never go there again! !
The food was just okay, nothing we ate was too great. But, the complimentary bread (sourdough) was amazing, it was the best sourdough I have ever had! The bread with butter was considerably tasty. The scenery was to die for, the view of the water was both beautiful and breathtaking. The service was good, the waitress checked up on us often, constantly checking if we needed more water or bread. Overall, the food was fair, and the service and location is great.
We celebrated Thanksgiving with friends and family at the Harbor House. We were very disappointed with the whole experience, service was slow, even though the restaurant was not even half full. As for the food I can only comment on their Thanksgiving preselected menu, I would compare our meal to something we would expect from Denny's, not unpalatable, but very bland.
Had grilled fish tacos - my favorite place to eat them and we tried to desserts and divided them up with the group - choc cake and the Key Lime Pie - Key Lime one the best but the choc cake was delicious too. My husband loved the fish tacos and since they were grilled it was a plus for him - he is trying to eat healthy! They are served in soft taco fashion and are quit filing. Can't beat the view.We might have gotten a new waiter but other waiters really kicked in to refill our glasses several times and make sure we got what we needed once I asked for something. Normally service is very good here. It can be packed at lunch hour even during the week so get reservations just to be safe.
This is a great place to bring out of town guests for the view, especially if you are bringing children. The food at best is average. Service was very good. Prices are reasonable, as are the portions. There are better view restaurants, but they are more expensive.
The occasion was my daughter's 50th birthday and I had requested a bay view table. We were given one in the corner which actually gave us better views than just straight on. The food was very good with friendly and courteous service. Thank you for a very pleasant dining experience.
My family and I have loved eating here in the past and I was so excited to take my husband to celebrate our anniversary. What a disappoint. The food was average. The server was terrible...never even coming to check on us. We were stuck at a little table that had me stuck up against a corner. The experience was such a let down.
