The food was good as well as the service. It was very loud! I didn't appreciate the fact there was no parking available other than valet. Had I known this upfront, I would have dined elsewhere. This should be made clear when inquiring about reservations.
Excellent seafood overall. Seldom had better. Acoustics a problem at peak hour.
I have ordered linguine with white clam sauce in many restaurants and this was small in size and only mediocre in flavor. I would not order again. The New England style clam chowder was average.
Food was good and the ambiance was very nice. Server got my wife's order wrong and my steak was well done rather than medium rare. The manager was very apologetic and made up for the mistake.
Went there for my dad’s 82nd birthday. Staff was amazing and treated him (and the rest of us) like royalty. Food was absolutely amazing and views were incredible. A wonderful experience!!
Excellent selection of oysters from Pacific coast and eastern Canada, Fresh! Ciopinno presented beautifully. Unfortunately, buere Blanc sauce was cold and lumpy, distracting from the lovely portion of halibut that was cooked to perfection. Excellent location, view & service, will go back.
Lunch with old friends.
Came for birthday celebration and harbor house was the perfect place! The food was amazing and the service was great. Would definitely come here again!
A very disappointing visit. We have been to the Harbor House many times before, but it was as if this time we visited a different restaurant. The food was sub par, with us even having to send back a dish. We had oysters, and 3 of the 4 people who ate them complained of not feeling well for a few days. The fish was old tasting, overcooked, and way too salty. The service lacked it's usual professionalism, and we constantly had to search for our servers when we wanted anything. Don't know if it was because it was a Sunday night, but we're not headed back here anytime soon.
We had a great experience, excellent sea food, excellent service
Fantastic experience. Excellent food with multiple choices at all stations. Superb service and fantastic views with outside dining.
My experience was unusual. Enjoyed the atmosphere and location. Thought some of the food was very good but also many failures. Coffee, desserts and some breakfast items were mediocre. Italian and can not make a crispy cannoli. I am returning in a month and hope it is not my last.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday with the outstanding help of our servers—-Adam and Ali
We were in town for a weekend getaway and booked a reservation for romantic dinner on Lake Michigan and this was perfect
Great food at a higher price but well worth it. Tables are close sometimes overhearing conversations happening next to us but everyone was friendly
Everything was great staff was awesome.
This was a repeat visit for us. While the overall setting of Harbor House is very nice, there was a noticeable feel that this restaurant crammed as many people in large parties into the dining room as possible the evening we dined there. It was difficult to get around tables, especially as we were leaving when the restaurant had filled up. We had our 89 year-old mother with us who walks with a cane. Despite us having a 5 p.m. reservation--so we think the table could have been switched, we were led the entire length of the restaurant to the last possible booth--something I think the hostess should have changed once she realized we had an elderly guest in our group. The appetizer, dinner and dessert courses were all well-prepared. The reason for the less than 5-star review is due to the crowding in the dining room and the service. Our two servers were nice, but inexperienced. Items were forgotten, the dessert course took an inordinately long time to serve, we stopped seeing the second server--who had introduced herself as one of two who would be taking care of our table--after the appetizer course was served. For the pricing Harbor House maintains and the fact that it is a Bartolotta restaurant (we are fans), we were disappointed in our visit there. We will be going back to Lake Park Bistro or Restaurante Bartolotta in the future, but will forgo Harbor House.
Great restaurant, great service amazing view. The lobster was amazing.
Still love this restaurant, but it is a bit noisy. Great food and wonderful service
As always, exceptional food and Diana was our server and was fantastic!
Lovely ambiance overlooking the lake. Service was a bit slow albeit friendly. Happy hour menu just ok.
Crystal was fantastic as usual. Food was great! Lovely views! This is a special place!
Always a great experience! Never disappointed! My favorite restaurant in Milwaukee
Great place to show the beauty of The lakefront to visiting family and friends
First time for dinner. Nice surf and turf options. Good wine. Fantastic service. Brought out 2 birthday desserts which my kids enjoyed.
We had a small group business meal, welcoming a new employee. Savory dishes, very efficient staff. Beautiful view. Highly recommend.
The New England clam chowder was one of the best I've had in a long time. The Maine Lobster roll was delicious. Fabulous meal and excellent service. The view was awesome!
We had a wonderful Anniversary brunch for our first visit to Harbor house. We will be back! All you can eat crab legs!
The Sunday buffet was outstanding. The location and views of the lake are excellent.
A lovely restaurant that we think is worth the drive from Chicago. Setting is outstanding, the food is good and the staff friendly and accommodating.
We had a fantastic dining experience. The ambiance was soft and romantic with a view that can't be beat. We had appetizers, entrees, wine, and dessert. For the quality of the food, the price was reasonable though definitely on the higher end. I would recommend Harbor House for special occasions (we were there to celebrate a birthday) and when a really nice dining experience is desired. You just can't go wrong with Bartolotta restaurants (in my experience).
Went for date night with my fiancé and got the Alaskan king crab legs she got the grilled tuna. The crag legs are usually split for you, but this time I had to crack them myself which was fine, but I wasn’t given any moist towelettes. Owners/managers are age-ist and don’t stop by your table if you’re under 30. People seem to be less and less “dressed up” each time I go there. Great food - great view - could improve on a few things though.
This restaurant continues to impress both in the atmosphere as well as the quality of the wait staff.
Service was a slow for a late reservation
Water glasses were empty regularly
Appetizer portions were small for the price
Food was delicious
Servers were professional and curtious
Great view from our table
Servers recommendations for the entree were outstanding
Great seafood, lovely views of the art museum and skyline.
Harbor house has a great atmosphere and they make special occasions wonderful. We loved the dessert and want to compliment the dessert chef for her incredible quality. The wait staff was also wonderful and attentive, except when we had a complaint about the food. She acted surprised and a bit defensive and no follow up later. I was at the Harbor House years ago and just as before the main food was mediocre (exception dessert). All three seafood plates where overdone/dry. This is what I also experienced years ago when I first tried it. Normally I would have sent the food back but after receiving a defensive reaction from one waitstaff about a pre-meal item it was our desire to keep our special occasion positive. Harbor House has such an amazing atmosphere that I think they "rely" on that to bring in customers and it may give them too much room to serve less than exceptional food. I will not try this restaurant again until I hear that the food has improved.
Great seafood, excellently prepared, and tremendous service all made for an memorable birthday experience with my wife and recently relocated daughter from San Francisco.
An excellent meal in a beautiful setting just south of the Milwaukee Art Museum. The waitstaff was attentive. Our entrees were excellent. The Key Lime Pie was superb!
OMG I LOVED THIS PLACE. Pricey but SO SO SO worth it. If you love seafood you will adore this place. The mussels were to die for, I literally wanted to drink the broth/sauce it come in! The crab was amazing, the cocktails were amazing the filet minion was bomb the clam chowder was amazing the creme brûlée WAS SO GOOD 11/10 on everything he had. Our server even gave us champagne to celebrate our anniversary ❤️ Crystal the server was A M A Z I N G
