Hanover Street Chophouse
Our meal was Superb! the entire staff including Chef Ben Charamella was very accommodating.
Never disappointed - food and service were amazing. My only complaint was the location of our table. We were seated on the corner in front of the door. I made the reservation 2 weeks prior and the expectation would have been a better table. It was extremely cold.
Love it here. We are always beyond happy with our experience. Best food around!
The chophouse never disappoints. Wish the would have left the burger and lobster roll on the lunch menu.
Amazing in every way!!!
We usually visit the Chophouse for special occasions. It is very easy to get in and out of if there is a person that has a walking disability. Also has valet service again a nice thing to have when the weather is not perfect or there is an elderly person along. The food has always been fantastic and the service better. So for Mother's Day or an anniversary or birthday it is a great choice.
Our most recent visit was for our anniversary, we ordered the seafood tower, salads and chowder. Had more than enough for the two of us to eat and did not opt for one of their fantastic pieces of beef as we had no more room. Maybe next time!
For the price, this place is not worth it. Very disappointed.
Great food all around, consistent since it's opening.
Dave, our waiter, was outstanding. He was cordial, made excellent recommendations, and tended to us with care.
We brought our two sons ages 9 and 11. The servers were very nice to them and accommodating to their tastes - such as asking if the wanted the hollandaise sauce on their asparagus.
Steak was fair
My potatoes tasted like instant
Dessert was fair frosting was ok cake was dry
Wouldn’t rush back
Everything we had was excellent and our server Catherine was fantastic
Mothers birthday. Treated her great and had a special card when we arrived for her! Food was awesome! Great overall experience.
We had a very nice, respectful and knowledgeable waiter. But if any other waitor saw we needed something they stopped and offered. The noise level was perfect, and yet still felt like it was just us there.
Food was perfection and service was excellent!
I love this place. Food is excellent and the ambiance is great. The waiters, hostess, and staff are extremely friendly and make the whole experience a pleasure. HSC is worth the trip.
disappointed with the Porterhouse. Too tough to cut. At those prices it should have been a far better quality like they are in NYC
The only "ding" in the rating I give to the restaurant is because my filet was cooked to a "medium" instead of " rare-to-medium-rare". Our server (Kris, who was fabulous) was apologetic and offered to replace the steak, but that option, which I declined, would have left my wife eating her dinner while I waited. My wife was pleased with her dinner. Although my filet was "over-cooked" for my preference, it was tasty and tender. The four-cheese appetizer plate and desserts (cream brulee & "Howie") were delicious. It was a busy Friday night, so the noise level was par for the time of day. My wife and I will definitely return, and often.
Always phenomenal food and top notch service!
Dined on thanksgiving day. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. They had a turkey dinner as one of the specials of the day, but we both opted for a steak. Great way to spend the holiday with my spouse.
Went here for anniversary dinner. Excellent service. Food was outstanding. Had wagyu special and was the best I have had. Desserts were fantastic. Really had no complaints. Would highly recommend .
We had a wonderful waiter that did a great job of making sure everything was perfect. I have a dairy allergy and we made sure that I could eat almost anything and they would make it to order. Plus he had already walked away when I had remembered something and all I said was “oh”. Two seconds later the waiter was back and said “did I hear an ‘oh’? Did you need something?” He was fantastic and the food was absolutely the best I’ve had. The steak was cooked to perfection and cut like warm butter. Can’t wait to go back.
Awesome food , awesome service !
Always perfect , love the Sunday night special , amazing value !
Great steaks and beautiful restaurant. Really enjoyed our evening there
Outstanding Tomahawk steak, as usual. Scallop dish was just OK. Noise level too high, but it was a Saturday evening. Rachel'service was excellent.
I found the limit on alcoholic drinks to be a bit overbearing. I was the designated driver for our group something our server was aware of. When a member of our group ordered a 4th cocktail it was very demeaning to have to ask permission from the server and be told only one more. Our group was well behaved and no one was acting out of control or drunk. It really put a damper on what was otherwise a great evening. This will definitely impact our decision to return.
Loved everything about Hanover Street Chophouse...except for our table location.
Went to celebrate my birthday and it was everything I could have wanted. Food and service are top notch!
Headed to the chophouse for our 31st anniversary. Booked our reservation several weeks ahead. Now we’ve never had a bad experience here but usually we eat in the bar area but since it was a special occasion we decided on the dining room. First off we were given a lousy table but they did move us to a booth which was better. We waited quite a while for drinks and again to hear specials. We split a Caesar salad and not only was the portion size incredibly small, there was no dressing so we sent it back. It came back barely dressed but we were hungry. My husband had steak and I had swordfish. The meals were good, just a bit cold but again at this point it’s almost 8pm so we were hungry. Our server did recommend a nice dessert and port. Ambiance is always lovely but if we go back we’ll stick to the bar.
My husband chose the Hanover Street Chophouse for his birthday dinner. This was the first time we had frequented the restaurant and we were not disappointed. Everything was wonderful! We had a very helpful and polite waiter named Joe who helped us with our dinner selections. Our cocktails were great, salad and dinner were delicious, and at the end of our meal we were surprised with a birthday dessert to share. It was truly a memorable dining experience, and we look forward to returning to this outstanding restaurant often!
The entire staff was courteous and professional. They stayed on point for the entire evening. At no point did we feel rushed along. The menu review and the food preparation were exquisite. I highly recommend a return visit for anyone who's already been there and an initial visit as soon as you're able to.
Amazing service and food.
great dinner and great service....will be back again soon.
A used to be wonderful top notch restaurant which needs a facelift. Looks tired. Noisy, loud music. Did nothing for the atmosphere. A bit pricey probably ok for local businessmen?
Our server was wonderful.
We have been a long time customers of this restaurant for about 20 years. We mainly dine here on special occasions. I took my bride of 36 years for her birthday, and once again we were blown away, by the service of Kris, the ambiance, the food, and especially the fact that we could have sat there all evening and not feel like they were trying to take our table away so they could seat someone else. It was over all an exceptional experience!
Simply the best restaurant in New Hampshire. Never fails to impress.
It was our fourth anniversary, we had an amazing time. I give it a 4.5/5 simply due to the slow service we received. It’s possible our server was fairly new, but there was a long span of time before we were asked for order. We got the Sunday three course dinner as well as the carpaccio. Everything was absolutely delicious. We were blown away. Definitely returning!!!
The staff were universally outstanding: coat-check, bartender, host, waiter: professional, not cloying, attentive. The food was consistently good, though not outstanding. The environment was quiet, and the bathrooms were clean. Prices were high, especially for Manchester.
I generally love this restaurant. This was my first disappointing meal. I requested without any confusion that I wanted my steak cooked Pittsburg style, "black and blue". The waitress acknowledged that she knew what that was. It came out medium. It was either because chef overcooked, or waitress let it sit too long.
I sent it back (which I never do), and then when she brought out the replacement, it literally was an uncooked slab of strip steak. I wasn't sure it was a vengeful move on their part or the chef was new and did not understand how to cook a very rare steak. I ate half (begrudgingly) and saved the rest to recook at home.
I will go back because it happens to be one of my favorites. But next time, I will inform manager before I submit order.
My wife and I had been talking about going here for a couple years. We decided to try it for our 25th anniversary dinner. The service was top notch. We had the Wagyu beef appetizer to start which was amazing. Then a lobster bisque and french onion soup again excellent. For entrees my wife had the lamb which she loved I had the aged bone in rib eye, it was good but not the best I have ever had we finished it up with the creme brulee paired with one of the house branded whiskeys. All in all a fantastic meal but this is a five star restaurant with the pricing that goes with it so most likely our furtur visits will be for special occasions only.
