Hanover Street Chophouse
Awesome food! A fantastic "classic" steakhouse. No gimmicks .. just great food!
Thanks to the free valet, the stress-free dining experience starts right at arrival. Pull up and walk right into the restaurant ... After dining, our car was waiting at the door. A great experience start-to-finish.
The Chop House will be a regular dining destination for us!!
Sunday's are tough. Seemed understaffed. Took two hours for dinner for two. Filet was room temp, not hot. Server offered to take it back to reheat but I didn't want it to be more well done (prefer medium rare). Flavor was great!
We've been here many times and it's always been outstanding. Unfortunately this time was the exception. Our reservation was for 5:15. We were seated promptly. We had drinks and a salad. Then waited til 6:30 for our entrees. We both ordered the specials of the day. My swordfish was barely warm. It must have been an off night. This is so unlike the Chop House . I'll still go back because I do love the place
We come here for our anniversary every year and love it. The only negatives I have is the excessive smoking around the building. Patrons shouldn't have to walk through a cloud of smoke to get into the front door. Also, the doorman was too busy socializing to open the door before I had to and when I thanked him for finishing opening it, he just kept talking to his smoking friend. Not really the classy ambience one would expect (I'm assuming it was an employee, if you don't have a doorman, I apologize, if you do, my comment stands). Lastly, last year we were able to put in a request for a song we wanted to hear as there were cards on the table for that purpose, so we weren't able to request our song for our anniversary this year. That was disappointing. Other than those things, we love your restaurant, staff and food. Thank you for hearing me out.
The three of us had wonderful experience, wonderful food and wonderful waiter, Basil. He's the best!
Always an exquisite experience. The finest dining in Manchester.
Great for a special occasion. Recommend the filet with mushrooms. Just great.
The service and food where supreme
VERY VERY good food and great service (Audra). But high priced. Will go again for special occasions
My favorite part of the Chophouse is the bar area. The other is a more private area near the kitchen - which is where I sat last week. The service is always excellent. I love the selection of breads and crackers brought to the table. The prices have gone up and it is an expensive meal. However, it's good and it is consistent.
Went there for our anniversary dinner. The meal was outstanding. These folks know how to prepare and cook a steak. I had the Porterhouse steak (the "special" of the night) and they nailed it. My wife had the salmon and she was amazed at how it was prepared perfectly for her.
The staff, from the Valets, the Hostesses and our server, Meaghan, were very professional, warm and friendly.
All in all, a great dining experience for a special event.
So I take it you'd not be interested just in my starred ratings but insist that I write something. Forget it, I don't feel like it. I might have actually written something if you hadn't "required" it.
We would not recommend Hanover Street Chophouse based on the quality of our meal. My salmon was overcooked and dry after requesting that it be pink in the middle, the red bliss potatoes were cold and not cooked through, but the asparagus was cooked perfectly. My husband's prime rib was tough and tasteless, and the mashed potatoes were cold (not even warm) and like glue. Based on comments from others who have eaten at your restaurant, we must have hit a bad night. Unfortunately, at the price we paid we are hesitant to give you another try.
My dinner was fabulous. My husband wasn’t so thrilled with his lamb, it was very fatty. For the amount of money we spent you would expect a phenomenal rack of lamb. The drink I had was a Asian pear martini, it was to die for. It also cost $16.00. I’d go again, not sure my husband would. It is a really expensive restaurant.
It was very loud & difficult to hear the others at our table. Service was great. Drinks were just so-so. Wine was excellent.
Basil, our server, was wonderful. We always enjoy an evening at HSC! Best dining experience in Manchester.
Always exceptional service & the food is amazing! Can’t wait to go back.
My husband and I recently went to Hanover Street Chop House for dinner for the first time. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious, and they left the perfect amount of time between courses so we did not feel rushed.
Though first time I got the rib eye, it was thin and not tremendously tasteful, even with the truffle butter. This past time I got the wagyu steak, same thing, thin but they had a sweet charred glaze which was ok.
The food was fantastic. My niece enjoyed the lamb chops and loved the truffle Mac n cheese. I had the special sea bass and it melt in my mouth.
We celebrated my husband's birthday at HSCH. Since it was his birthday, he opted to choose the expensive waygu steak ($75) . He loved his steak. I ordered a non-steak item (chicken parm), which was huge and affordable and would actually serve 2 people. My meal was very good as well. And the server (Melissa) was very knowledgeable, attentive and amiable. If we could make just one improvement ( and there would only be one) , it would be to improve the veggie sides. I didn't have veggies, but my husband said his were just average. Roasting them would have made things perfect. Overall, though, we had a perfect evening and a wonderful meal and we highly recommend HSCH.
Excellent food and service.
As always our food was exceptional! Service is great and we had a wonderful dining experience. Everything about this place is top notch!
We had a wonderful experience. Waiter was Ricky, who is a real pro and took care of us. Drinks and wine were excellent. Salads and Oysters were fresh, cold and delicious. Pork Chop was excellent. Salmon was fresh and also very good. Same for the special Prime Rib. Want to come back to explore some of these other great Snake River meats. New find for us in Manchester. We will be back.
My favorite -- primus inter pares-- among several notable restaurants in the Manchester/Bedford NH area. The food is always seasonal, delicious, and cooked properly e.g.steak is rare as requested. Very interesting appetizer currently offered is the crispy avocado and halloumi cheese. You can count on the hanger steak topped with perfect onion strings. Of course the wine list is outstanding, with several very good choices by the glass.
Service is invariably excellent, even for solo diners, and even at lunch. Probably the best-trained wait staff in New England!
Our steaks were as good as anything I’ve had in Boston or New York...Love the traditional decor - leather upholstered booths, dark wood paneling and classic paintings/prints...Our server Catherine was absolutely outstanding (again!!!)...We’ll be back!!!
Always a great experience. Have eaten here at least 20 times and will be back at least 20 more.
Food was undercook but waiter heard and asked if we wanted to take it back. I declined because I was already pretty full anyways.
We had the Sunday dinner filet and they were cooked to perfection. So good. The Sunday dinner is a great value.
Food was cooked perfectly. Flavor was okay. A little over priced compared to competing restaurants.
The service was the best. A little pricey but the food was great.
The food was amazing and the service was great. Our server was really friendly and gave great recommendations. Definitely a place I will go back to and recommend to family and friends.
Best lunch in Manchester!
Attentive, courteous service and delicious food.
What a wonderful experience; great atmosphere, great food and great service. We were expecting an exceptional experience and it was even better than expected. The food and wine selections were numerous and our waiter couldn't have been more attentive (without being right in your face). I would highly recommend the Hanover Street Chophouse to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience and hope to visit again soon.
Outstanding service. Fantastic food.
Service could not have been better, food was very good but not overwhelming. Would come again
Food is superb here. I gave 4 stars for "value" only because it is very expensive. Not saying it isn't worth it, because along with great food, the service is excellent. But it seems a bit higher priced than other equally amazing restaurants in the area (particularly for steak). Husband I took home half my cake also for next day.
It was what I expected simply amazing dinning!! Can’t wait to go again l’m really look forward to it.
The Chophouse was the best I’ve been to in the state of NH as of now.
Food and service are outstanding!
