Hanover Street Chophouse Ratings and Reviews
This is a familiar venue for treating ourselves to an occasional "fancy dinner." It's about an hour and 15 minute round trip for us -- AND it's also pretty pricey for this part of the world -- so we don't do it very often. But when we feel like doing a little extra for ourselves we put on a clean shirt and a jacket and go. Fun!
Another Excellent time at the Hanover Street Chophouse!!
Warm greetings from the hostess, and then immediate, great seating.
Started off with the Carpaccio- Wagyu beef some capers...WOW
PRIME strip, cooked Pittsburgh style, and the creamed spinach done perfectly, not salty like many places. Scrutinize the wine list. There are secrets within, but I am not telling.
My wife got the Caesar Salad, and the Filet done her way. Both examples of the best ingredients and fine, fine preparation. She was pleased.
Closed the meal out with the Howie (9 layer cake) and black coffee.
Mike is an excellent server. "Gets it done." Very professional for such a young person.
The proprietor stopped by and made sure all was well.
Have traveled may places in North America and Europe, and this is among the Very Best. So close, and real value for this level of quality.
As Arnold said, "I'll be back!"
Always enjoyable. Not inexpensive, but food is good and ambience is excellent. Manchester, HN is weak on good restaurants which is why we return to the Hanover Chophouse overtime we
are in Manchester. Looking forward to the sister restaurant (the Crown) opening just down the
street late summer 2017.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Chop House...the good was fantastic, the waiter was great. The only issue was we were not seated until 8pm despite having a reservation at 7:15. We were comped a round of drinks and an appetizer but only after waiting, complaining, and then asking to be comped. With a wait that long something should have been offerred right away.
The first time I dined there the food was very high quality with very tender filet mignon, brandy mushrooms, excellent wine. The last time, we were seated at a very undesirable noisy table which I refused. We moved to a booth. The filet this time was not high quality, the mushrooms had no taste and neither did the vegetables. This dinner was not worth the price in the least!
We went to Hanover St. Chop House to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary.
Sunday dinner menu included a Caesar salad, delicious tender filet, potato and vegetable, and creme brûlée for dessert. We used valet parking , were greeted st the door and promptly seated at our table. Server was friendly and very attentive to our needs , making sure we had wine , beer, and water as needed. We were not rushed, timing between courses was perfect.
Manager on duty stopped by to make sure we were happy with our evening.
Overall, a little pricey , but perfect for a special occasion.
We recently dined at the Chophouse to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was a delightful experience from beginning to end. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, the meal was well-paced and our server, Richard, was an absolute delight. He anticipated our needs, was at the ready when required, but was never intrusive.
If you're looking for an elegant evening out and don't want the worry of wondering whether your meal will be good, head for the Chophouse. The bar is a great place to meet for a drink, too.
The service was impeccable The food was fantastic!
Started off with a bakers dozen of oysters- fresh and tasty-recommended by the waiter
3 steaks- Rib eye-Filet with truffle butter and a strip sirloin-
We each thought ours was the best!
Kept the birthday low key-out a candle in the blueberry pie with ice cream---no singing just a nice classy touch!
will go back for another special occasion!!!! loved it!
This was our 3rd visit to Hanover Street Chophouse. As usual the service was attentive without being overbearing. The selection of appetizers and wines was good and my oysters were among the best I have had. Our Steaks were done to perfection. Coffee and desert topped off a great evening.
Perfect ambiance. The food, as always, was delicious. ,The menu was inventive, seasonal and offered a broad selection. Our waitperson was knowledgeable and fun. The soft piano music was elegant. The bartender has a very pleasing heavy hand!
It's not an inexpensive meal but you certainly get what you pay for, and more. If it weren't an hour and a half from home, it would be our constant go to place!
Everything was perfect. From the lighting and temperature to the complimentary chocolate drops. I had the filet mignon with truffle butter, bacon mashed potatoes and mixed vegetable. Everything was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The piano player was also a nice feature and our server Agatha was very informative with the menu and very attentive. It was a great experience over all and we will definitely be going back.
This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. The food and wines are top notch and service was professional. We were catching up on life with our grown daughter so appreciated the seamless service which did not interrupt our conversation. All three entrees were great, Kurabota pork, rack of lamb and filet mignon. Started with some excellent oysters and the beef carpaccio. The carpaccio presentation was very light and delicious. Best in New Hampshire as far as we are concerned.
It was everything I was hoping for: perfectly cooked steak with an excellent sauce, sides perfect, and excellent wine by the glass selection. Our family enjoyed the 9 layer chocolate cake "The Howie", too! If you are looking for a classic steakhouse without disappointment, this is your destination.
Our server made the celebration of our twenty-seventh anniversary a very special occasion! The drinks were classic, the appetizers were tasty, and the entrees were exceptional. Even dessert was one to remember. We couldn't be more pleased with our night out in celebration!
This was a combination of a retirement celebration and a pre-travel treat to enjoy Chophouse. Another excellent evening thanks to exceptional service, and excellent food. The surprise tonight was the 'tomahawk' steak. Chophouse's beef is always exceptional, but this steak was a wonderful treat. The steak was perfect and the bone barely fit on the plate. We always appreciate that they bring in specials that complement their constant quality. The only 'negative' this trip was that there were a few changes to the menu and we now need to head back to try them. Thank you, Bill and Julie
