Hanover Street Chophouse Ratings and Reviews
We don't get to the Manchester area as often as we like, but we always eat at the Chop House. There are other steak houses we go to in various areas, The Chop House is the only one that has stayed consistently excellent! Even this time we couldn't get in until 8:15 pm it still was worth it. Wait staff is always outstanding!
I heard a lot about the place so thought we would try it out. The service and food was absolutely fantastic. We sat right in front of the piano player, he was fantastic with just the right tone. I believe his name was Jeff, really great piano player. It really made our evening an added pleasure. I had the porterhouse which was cooked to perfection. My wife had the chicken parm which was also fantastic. We shared a nice bottle of pino noir which I at first thought was a bit pricey but was well worth the ambiance. We definitely will return.
I took my girlfriend there for the first time this earlier this week. It was both of our first time going there, we drove just over 2 1/2 hours to go to this place off of a recommendation from a friend.
So we got to the restaurant and we immediately started to feel the experience as the valet tenant opened the doors for us to enter. As soon as we walked in we were catered to hand an foot for the rest of the evening. We didn’t wait 5 seconds to be seated from the time we walked in the door.
The waitress was very knowledgeable about the wine selection, as well as all items on the menu. She was extremely helpful and tentative to our needs through the night without hesitation. It was definitely an experience we won’t ever forget. A definite must go if you’re in Manchester, make sure you bring your credit card if you go, because with an exceptional meal comes a nice hefty bill at the end. Don’t worry, It’s worth it though!
It was our first time to Hanover Street Chop House and I can guarantee that this will not the last time we eat here.
Our reservation was for 5:45pm but we arrived a little early. No problem, the bar is gorgeous and very well stocked with every spirit your heart desires.
When it came time to be seated, they put us at table where there was a really cold draft when the front door opened. We asked to be moved, and they moved us to a very cozy table for 2 where Melissa was our server for the evening. She was incredibly personable and knowledgeable about the menu, the cooking styles, sauces and everything that had to do with the menu. They have an extensive wine/spirits menu and we were quite impressed.
We ordered the 16 ounce Delmonico Steak and the Chilean Sea Bass (special for the night) and were thoroughly blown away at the presentation and the way everything was cooked. To say that the taste and everything about the 2 meals were exquisite is being quite modest.
Hanover Street Chop House ranks very highly in my book.
Thank you for a wonderful dining experience and to Melissa, thank you for making our evening so enjoyable.
While we did not have any beef entrees, the swordfish alternative was overcooked and dry, the chicken parm dish also overcooked and had a rancid taste. The kitchen paid little attention to detail to these non beef entree options considering the price.
Here we have Boston steakhouse quality with a twist. Somewhat lower prices, better service, more care, and overall satisfaction. We've been coming here for quite a while now and have never been disappointed. Great food, great drinks/wines, always a great experience.
Incredible service- valet, coat check, warm greetings. We had a drink at the bar before our we sat and the bartender came out from behind the bar to take our order and bring us our drinks so we didn't have to lean over the patrons eating at the bar.
We requested a booth rather than a table and they accommodated right away. Our waiters, John and Dave, were extremely attentive and gave great recommendations. They talked to us like old friends but in a professional way!
All around 5 stars!!
Service was outstanding but the only draw back I have is that I sat next to a a very loud group of people who were talking pretty inappropriately and one guy even had jeans on. I believe they did not belong at such a high end place. The food was awesome, it is pricey but if you are there for a special occasion then it is well worth it. Oh, and valet parking is always a plus!
Second visit - Union Oyster House is the kind of place that makes me wish I had business more often in Boston. Great lobster, clams, oysters... all from local sources. And the restaurant has tons of character. You may end up sitting at John F. Kennedy's or Daniel Webster's usual table. Quite a place -- best seafood, history, and fun all under the same roof. Enjoy!
The Chophouse never disappoints. We dine there 2 to 3 times a year either before or after a presentation down the street at the Palace theater. The steaks are always exquisite and the service outstanding -- this time by Basil. As noted by others, it is a bit pricey, but well worth every penny.
