Hannah's off The Square Ratings and Reviews
We've been to Hannah's several times, and it keeps getting better. They not only have great food but amazing service as well. While I miss their daily specials since they were always amazing, the regular and seasonal menu has great choices. And the staff couldn't be better. It is our favorite go-to spot when wanting a great meal or to impress guests.
Hannah's is a wonderful experience! whether you are just going for the appetizing boards they have for starters with a cocktail, or their amazing selection for dinner, this is a gem of a restaurant for sure. Staff is friendly and very attentive, never had to wait long for anything! I've been here several times and it surely becoming one of my favorites in the Denton area! Highly recommend!
The big issue that I have trying this for the first time is as follow
The couple we went with asked for 3 different appetizers, they were either sold out of or did not have them! Seriously 3 in a row, that makes no since on a Saturday evening, we were there at 7:30 pm. He also had to keep going to the kitchen to ask if they stilled had that choice available! Annoying ! either change you menu or take off seasonal items.
The food overall was very good, I had the tuna which was excellent and my wife had the Chicken Saltimbocca which was good.
I will also complain to the manager, they need to train their wait staff, we had to set the empty wine glasses off the table to the next empty table so they would be removed form our table, also had to do the same with our empty cocktail glasses as well once empty. When your waiter leaves the table when he or she is serving food or other, they should take away empty glasses or plates.
This is a more $$$ stile of restaurant at least I think it is! Some waht disappointed !
I was back for brunch. As usual, I had the scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and a baguette. It was all good. Reagan, my server, was friendly as she has been on prior occasions. She fixed me a Tito's screwdriver which I enjoyed. As my schedule allows, I plan to return for brunch. I have enjoyed lunch and dinner at Hannah's before.
Have dined here many times over the years, this was our first "less than ideal" experience. It took forever for our brunch to be served and when it finally was, all 4 of our entrees were cold. The same great flavors were there, but it just wasn't the same. Probably just an off day, but we're taking Hannah's off the list for a while.
The food tasted great but the service was very poor. I had noted on my reservation that it was an anniversary celebration. I expected the server to acknowledge our special event, but she said nothing. We were never asked if we wanted another glass of wine or if we wanted dessert. We waited 15 minutes for our check and had to ask another server to bring us our bill.
Cocktail supposed to have Luxardo cherry, did not. My two orders of same cocktail varied greatly in quantity. Bread plate taken away without asking if we wanted any. Over an hour to be served entree. Food was delicious. Offered 1 free dessert coupon because of wait, why not 2? There were 2 of us. Manager threw cook staff under the bus and said part of the wait was that the cooks didn't know how to cook the new menu. Hannah's used to be our favorite restaurant but the past few visits have been disappointing mostly because of service.
This was a post-Christmas lunch with my granddaughter who is home from Fordham U. My d-i-l was with us. Sarah, our server, was friendly but not obtrusive. The food was good. I have enjoyed lobster rolls in Maine so it is not fair to compare. Hannah's was good, nonetheless. In the future, however, I will select other items.
My Wife, Daughter and I enjoyed dinner at Hannah's before taking a show at the Campus Theater. This was our first visit to Hannah's and will not be our last. The peppercorn tenderloin was fantastic! The scallops and arctic char were also delicious. The ambiance along with great service make Hannah's a wonderful time.
We were celebrating my daughter and her boyfriend's college graduation from UNT. We had an early reservation, they were able to have drinks in the bar area until our reservation. was ready. The service was excellent and the food was prompt and on time and delicious! I am a chef, so my daughters boyfriend chose that restaurant specifically because he knew I would enjoy it. The presentation, the quality of the local ingredients and the taste did not disappoint! My hat off to the chef! I would highly recommend it and as far as price point we were very pleasantly surprised when we receive the check that it wasn't about $200 more expensive for what we ate and drank.
The steak was perfectly cooked to order. The pasta was very overcooked and scarce. It was called a lobster stuffing but it was more of a lobster flavored creamy sauce. It lacked substance. The duck my daughter had was excellent as were the scallops my friend had. The servings could have been a tad more generous. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere! We could hear each other's conversation!!! The wait staff was excellent and cordial.
The food was delicious as usual and we love the ambiance. The menu is upscale and the interior is classy while not presumptuous. This is a place where you can have a high end meal but not feel like you can't talk and have to watch every move you make. Love it there.
I'll preface this with the disclosure that I am a dining snob. Meaning, when I go out to spend over $150 like I did at Hannah's this particular, then I expect the service, food, and atmosphere to match the cost. Hannah's never fails in the food category. We had expertly crafted, flavorful, beautifully plated food. However, in the service and atmosphere categories, Hannah's did not deliver this evening. Our table was stuffed into the side of a partition that leaned heavily; so much so that when our water glasses were filled, thet actually slid. Our waiter, Kevin, though polite seemed disengaged. When my cocktail arrived I had to keep it from moving across the table. I commented to Kevin that the table leaned a bit and that maybe after I drank my cocktail it would look straight. I'm not quitting my day job to be a comedian, but I thought that would've at least illicited some response, but all I got from Kevin wère raised eyebrows. I then had to tell Kevin to remove our wine glasses after the appetizer came out because there wasn't any room on our small, crippled table. I was also not prepared for the communal dining atmosphere. We were seated so close to other diners I felt like I could join in on their conversation, which made me feel conscious about my dinner conversation with my husband. Overall, though, past visits have been immensely enjoyable. I'm glad we made a reservation as we did not expect it to be as busy as it was. While the food that evening matched the fine dining label, the service was on par with a chain restaurant, and the atmosphere subpar to popular establishments.
Consistently great food and great overall experience. This was our third visit. Our server was very helpful in selecting entrees, and her recommendations were spot-on. The service is attentive and punctual. Hard to describe the menu -- a little something for everyone. Do you like French or Italian? Steak? Seafood? Great cocktail options? Good wine list? Hannah's has all of that covered. I look forward to the next visit!
I had the MIGAS for brunch...great flavor, but they were not hot...the cheese wasn't even melted....my friend had the brunch burger, well done, so maybe my meal got cold waiting to cook his??? I didn't mention it to the server because I was on a date and didn't want to cause a problem. If I had been alone or with friends/family, I would have sent the meal back. :(
Our server was very sweet and attentive. Good Bloody Mary.
