Hannah's off The Square Ratings and Reviews
The food was delicious as usual and we love the ambiance. The menu is upscale and the interior is classy while not presumptuous. This is a place where you can have a high end meal but not feel like you can't talk and have to watch every move you make. Love it there.
I'll preface this with the disclosure that I am a dining snob. Meaning, when I go out to spend over $150 like I did at Hannah's this particular, then I expect the service, food, and atmosphere to match the cost. Hannah's never fails in the food category. We had expertly crafted, flavorful, beautifully plated food. However, in the service and atmosphere categories, Hannah's did not deliver this evening. Our table was stuffed into the side of a partition that leaned heavily; so much so that when our water glasses were filled, thet actually slid. Our waiter, Kevin, though polite seemed disengaged. When my cocktail arrived I had to keep it from moving across the table. I commented to Kevin that the table leaned a bit and that maybe after I drank my cocktail it would look straight. I'm not quitting my day job to be a comedian, but I thought that would've at least illicited some response, but all I got from Kevin wère raised eyebrows. I then had to tell Kevin to remove our wine glasses after the appetizer came out because there wasn't any room on our small, crippled table. I was also not prepared for the communal dining atmosphere. We were seated so close to other diners I felt like I could join in on their conversation, which made me feel conscious about my dinner conversation with my husband. Overall, though, past visits have been immensely enjoyable. I'm glad we made a reservation as we did not expect it to be as busy as it was. While the food that evening matched the fine dining label, the service was on par with a chain restaurant, and the atmosphere subpar to popular establishments.
Consistently great food and great overall experience. This was our third visit. Our server was very helpful in selecting entrees, and her recommendations were spot-on. The service is attentive and punctual. Hard to describe the menu -- a little something for everyone. Do you like French or Italian? Steak? Seafood? Great cocktail options? Good wine list? Hannah's has all of that covered. I look forward to the next visit!
I had the MIGAS for brunch...great flavor, but they were not hot...the cheese wasn't even melted....my friend had the brunch burger, well done, so maybe my meal got cold waiting to cook his??? I didn't mention it to the server because I was on a date and didn't want to cause a problem. If I had been alone or with friends/family, I would have sent the meal back. :(
Our server was very sweet and attentive. Good Bloody Mary.
Our speciality cocktails were delightful! Beet salad (that I shared w/a friend) was soooo good - I had the steak for dinner but was disappointed. The steak had a lot of gristle and I left more than half on the plate . . . Our wait person was attentive and knowledgeable esp. re: the wine list. I will definitely go again but felt that the price was way to high for what I received.
As always the food is outstanding. Best beef tenderloin in Denton. The special desserts never disappoint. Also as always the service seems to miss a beat. Whenever we're ready to order it always seems like we're in a time warp. And why is bread a la carte? Bottom line, I'll always go back.
Took a date who had little experience with fine dining. Our server, Kelly, was a gem. Nice, informative, but not pushy. Gave us all the time we needed and the food was delicious. Perhaps a bit pricey for Denton, TX, but I’m not complaining. We will be back.
I've lived in Denton on and off since 1999 and had never been to Hannah's. Not sure why. We had the shrimp and grits, wedge salad, scallops and beef short rib special. The shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. The wedge salad was probably the best I've ever had. I ordered an Old Fashioned that was amazing! I will definitely be back!
The food was incredible. The first time we were there, Kelley was our INCREDIBLE server and everything was PERFECT. The next day, Michelle was the server and not a Kelley, for sure. Had an overcharge for heated mile for our hot chocolate rather than the water they use. Had ordered 1/2 hot chocolate and 1/2 coffee and were charged full price for each. Usually the manager wants to keep a customer and works things out. We'll take our own mocha next time rather than deal with the drama of overcharges. However, the food is incredible and Kelley, the server was happy to serve and flawless.
Hannah's doesn't look like much on the outside, but it's hiding a gem! The atmosphere is very comfortable & the service is amazing. The food here stands above the rest. The ribeye was wonderfully seasoned & perfectly cooked. The same can be said about my wife's filet. The vegetables were extremely fresh and full of flavor. Then dessert of an apple tart with homemade Carmel & sea salt whipped cream was incredible. Hannah's instantly became our go to place for date nights or special occasions.
Don't know the area that well ,but we frequently go to Dan's Silverleaf for live music. We wanted a nice restaurant and don't mind paying more for a great meal ,this place is beautiful and food is awesome. They give great recommendations on food and wine. We will definitely be repeat customers, it is also close to many bars and live music.
Was at least 20 minutes after we were seated before we saw a server. Once they found out we were there, the server was attentive. Food was ok. Had problems with a medium temp tenderloin. Sent it back once but it was still bleeding red. I didn't send it back a second time as I was going to take the other half home anyway that way it was perfect when I warmed it on the grill at home.
I was so excited to try Hannah's based on recommendations.
We were seated for our 815 reservation and waited 15 minutes to get water. We should have left then. We finally placed our orders at 840. Appetizers arrived reasonably quickly and were good. I enjoyed the crab corn chowder and my husband liked the beet salad.
Then we waited over an hour to get our entrees. Our waiter avoided us. We ran out of wine and water. The restaurant was less than half full. It was completely absurd.
We finally received our entrees and the food was not hot. The potatoes with the salmon were over processed, gluey sticky mess. At this point in time we called over the manager who said his kitchen wasn't running very well and said it was a bad night to try them out and he hoped we would try again. No service recovery. When we finally flagged our waiter down for the check he had additional wine glasses on there that weren't ours. Poor. Just poor. We won't be returning. I don't expect fast food, but over an hour for an entree when the restaurant isn't busy is just unacceptable.
Hannah's is the best restaurant in Denton and among the best in DFW, definitely worthy of the short drive. This is our weekly brunch spot, which they offer both Saturday and Sunday. They have ample vegetarian options for me, creative daily specials, and some of the best food I have ever eaten!
We've eaten here many times. Thought this the best food yet. Was for anniversary and alwas like when restaurant does something a little extra, which they did not. Great scotch and soda. Ate once at nearby Denton restaurant, which forgot the scotch, but would not admit i,
I recently visited Hannah's for a brunch with a very good friend of mine. The service was amazing. Loved our waitress- although I cannot remember her name. The food was spectacular! We shared the bread basket. And I had the Hannah's toast and my friend had the Migas. We both enjoyed a mimosa. Mine was cranberry and my friend's was pineapple. Perfect way to begin my Sunday.
We were traveling with friends and searched out this restaurant on Open Table. Incredible find! Two of us had the Chicken Saltimbocca and wanted to lick the cream sauce off the plate when we finished the fork tender chicken with roasted butternut squash and, I believe it was gnocchi. Excellent! So good! Another of us had the Cioppino which he liked very much. Another had the Lamb Meatloaf Burger. He thought it was great but very large and ended up taking the burger off the bun and ate it alone, using the bun as an accompaniment to the meal. Two of us also had the 111 Salad. It was excellent but quite large. Enough for two, really. Our server/waiter, whose name I've forgotten (he was a Cleveland Indians fan and we are Royals fans and they were playing each other that night so we had some very good joking with him-Royals lost that night) was excellent. Very attentive and likeable. If ever we are in Denton again, we will definitely seek out this restaurant.
Service was excellent, food different but good. The food service was slow ... would have been great to have some rolls and butter on the table. Wish they only used Blue cheese as dressings or flavoring in all their dishes. I can't stand it and knocked out a lot of choices from the menu.
