About
At Hanjan and Danji we choose to use meat raised without antibiotics or growth hormones. Our fish are caught wild and are not overfished and endangered. We try to use as much organic and local produce as possible. No doubt these ingredients cost more but we believe the food we consume should be healthy and responsible as well as delicious.
Really delicious food and environment - just a bit overpriced for what you get.
Great food - the spicy chicken wings were amazing, my favourite part of the meal. We also had the pork rib and cho chicken mains, and they were super tasty. All washed down with some refreshing Kloud lager. Will definitely go back and will recommend to anyone I know visiting NYC
Everything was very good except we felt rushed by the server. She even took my drink away when it was about half full. Restaurant was moderately busy but no wait.
Great prefixed menu for Valentine’s Day. GM also comped a round of cocktails and gave us a round of champagne for waiting an extra 15 minutes for our reservation (even though we were able to grab a seat at the bar). Excellent customer service and the food was amazing.
what a great night - the rice cakes, garlic chicken, yellow-tail sushi - blew my mind - the sesame ice cream is amazing -- fun for get togethers, parties or just because!
Went for restaurant week and glad we did. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and service was terrific
Had a great time at restaurant week. General chos cjicken was delicious and yellowtail sashimi was excellent. Black sesame ice cream was also great.
Food is delicious and very authentic Korean without the chaos of Ktown. An elevated dining experience with Korean food like your mom made it. A great deal for restaurant week, which is what I took advantage of with friends not once, but twice! Aside from being pricey (a la carte menu), my only criticism is that they do not offer any non-alcoholic drinks besides water and one $10 fizzy sugary drink. Shockingly, there is no tea offered at the restaurant, either.
LOVE Hanjan. Went for restaurant week - FULL portions and perfectly prepared. No skimping for the masses here. Chicken 'nuggets' are generous and a must to share. Bibimbap is solid, be prepared to scrape the bowl for that crispy rice at the bottom
I came here with a friend for restaurant week. We were seated promptly and the hostess/servers were very polite.
I got the chicken nuggets and the bibimbap. My friend got the salmon roe dish and the black bean noodles. Our food was served together and everything was good.
I do, though, wish they had more space between the tables. It was a bit of a squeeze.
Food was wonderful though portions are small We definitely needed more to share than in other places
A fun night out. Incredible short rib and garlic chicken, sashimi excellent as well. Not a huge fan of green tea ice cream
Went to celebrate restaurant week with a friend but just found the whole experience disappointing. The food, service and ambiance were just okay. I was hoping to have a better experience. The dumplings were just average as was the noodles with black bean sauce. My friend’s sashimi was also nothing special. I would not recommend this place.
Amazing experience and our favorite Korean restaurant in the city. Even with a two year old, he loved the fried anchovies!
Limited but representative lunch menu. Extremely flavorful and well prepared. Quick, friendly service.
The food is so flavorful, garlic fried chicken and baby back rib is great!
Food was fantastic but the manager was pressuring us to sit early when we’re drinking at the bar and then kicked us out... we were still getting drinks at our table. Very rude. Other staff was very nice but the manager was very unprofessional.
Bartender was awesome. Great recommendations: cod / spicy soup / rice cakes / spicy marg. Perfect.
Great food. Beautiful presentation.
The food was good but not overly inspiring. Our waitress was fantastic though!
Great food, excellently prepared. Good waitstaff. Beautiful, interesting space to dine in. Great bar with speedy bartender.
Has not lost a step and the food was as wonderful as ever. Sashimi appetizer is not to be missed (and helps keep the meal a little bit light)
Overall good. However, the food was far too salty.
service is toorushed, they tried toget us out fast and refused to offer tea
good food/good value/wonderful experience and now consider the restaurant among our favorites.
A Foodie Must!
Our second time dining at Hanjan and it totally holds up. In fact, we loved it even more, if that's possible.
Located in NoMad, this is a very trendy and innovative Korean restaurant with emphasis on trendy. As a non-Korean, it's easy to find amazing dishes to enjoy, starting with their incredible Wings. Wow. I really mean, WOW. For dinner, I had Wagyu Short Rib. Extremely tasty. My wife, who is Korean had a Spicy Noodles in Seafood Broth, which she claims is the best she's had outside of Seoul.
The atmosphere is as unique as the food in a very cozy space with very trendy decor. Service is also amazing. Hard to find a single fault in Hanjan. Highly recommend to any and all, even if you've never tried Korean food, you'll love it.
One of best places to get really good korean good.
Not sure what to expect we found a delicious restaurant with welcoming and well trained staff who encouraged us through a menu the was at first quite new to us, but, in a short while, felt like home cooking with the staff's guidance. Great flavors. Interesting depths of spicing. And fun. We will be back soon. Kimchee pancakes, WOW.
Food was super oily and portions are small. I called to ask if they do anything special for birthdays and the person on the phone said “No, you come, you eat, you leave” which I thought was such a strange response. Food is ok but nothing to rave about
My party was there at the time of our reservation, however the hostess ignored us. Once she finally got to us it was 15 mins past our reservation and she said we were too late for our reservation and gave our table away!!!
Good food. Excellent atmosphere.
Very decent food and a unique ambience for a korean place. Will return!
Enjoyed the casual vibe matched with yummy dishes. Good for casual get together
Ordered the yellow tail sashimi & pork rib rack. Tasted amazing!!
Tolles Essen, nette aber schnelle Kellner, etwas laut.
At 7:15pm a quite empty space couldn’t accommodate a small request of NOT sitting on a communal table but on the more comfortable 4 top on the left side . ( we have been many times and knew the difference)
“ No the tables are for twos only “ came the answer thru the manager . Are u sure I requested as u are so empty etc etc .
“ sorry NO came the answer “.
One understands there is a plan and settings for the night but u are here to take care of the customer and make the experience happen on all levels . The management failed to execute a simple requested and as such helped create a negative experience.
And guess what ? As we left they had sat two four tops against the wall during our meal !!!!
This used to be a quiet restaurant where one could have a conversation. Not this time!
Great food and quick service. Had the best bibimbap I’ve ever had! Shishimi and rice cakes were to die for also.
Pickled daikon especially good. Yellow sashimi excellently spiced.
Hanjan is an excellent Korean restaurant in a neighborhood that has many choices. The Bimbimbap is delicious and the ambience is very conducive to actual conversations. Highly recommend.
