Went here for Easter lunch. Had the fish tacos and it was delish! However it took longer than expected for food to be served. I also had the chocolate lava cake for dessert and it took 25 minutes to get my burnt lava cake :/ Also, our server kept ignoring us when there's hardly any people at the restaurant.
However I do like that it's quiet. I can speak without raising my voice and I also like the view of the bay and airport runways.
A below average hotel restaurant. Despite being about half capacity, the kitchen was VERY slow. I suspect they were preparing for the large bar/lounge area. 15 minutes for our salads, even though the wait staff was attentive.
Ribeye is tender and juicy
Great place to dine before a flight, just a few minutes to SFO. A little pricey, but the food was excellent, good wine selection (they had one of our favorite Pinot Noir's, La Crema, $68/bottle). Nice view of the bay facing the end of the SFO runways. The bread they serve up front has a cheesy toasted crunch topping that was worth paying for (but is complementary!). We only had seafood, lobster ravioli and ciopino, but were very tasty. Portions were not huge but adequate.
Menu did not match what is on Opentable exacltly, but not far off.
Terrible. First off, Open Table has this restaurant located in the Westin. It’s not. It’s in the Marriott. So after the Uber dropped us off we had to walk over a mile in the 40 degree 40 mph winds to get here.
Then, the dining room was so cold that the manager was wrapping diners in blankets.
The food was marginal.
The waitress was outstanding.
All in all, the good service could not overcome the horrific cold, mismanagement, and poor culinary experience of the restaurant.
Our server Alyssa was extremely culinary knowledgeable and exceeded our dining expectations. She had great menu recommendations and had great timely service. Our steak dinners were perfectly cooked too. We would visit again.
Dinner was a combination anniversary and Valentine's celebration. The food and service were outstanding. The sauce on each of our dinners was wonderful and the portions were generous. It was also very nice to be seated at the window and watch the planes land and take off from the airport. They looked liked giant, jeweled, winged insects. It was altogether a very enjoyable experience.
Service that night was slow and inattentive.
Waited over 5 minuter for the hostess to show up at the front desk. The entire staff was preoccupied sucking up to a large group of business men. We were delegated to second class diners.
Because of the location it get busy. Dirty glasses, service is not great not because personal didnt try but because they had no training. So in my opinion management is to blame. Food came out good, but the thought of how kitchen looks like (if wine glasses that in the open werent clean) didnt let me enjoy it truly. Design is very outdated
They had some construction going on. I went for breakfast I don’t suggest the frosted flakes French toast. But the eggs Benedict was great.
We booked for New Year’s Day brunch because we were staying at the hotel but it wasn’t anything more than their regular buffet which was decent with good variety.
Great view of the planes coming and going. They are currently renovating and an update to decor will be nice.
The waiter was inattentive and food came in cold
Good food but too quiet. Much improvement needed for a better atmosphere
Many area's that need improvement, food, service. Unless corrected soon would not recommend for special occasions or any other time. Very sad for family gathering I was excited too show family a positive side of dinning in Bay area.
Our server Alyssa was fantastic easily handling a group of 12 among her other customers with friendly on-point service.
Excellent place for a good, quiet dinner near SFO. Food was excellent, both steaks and seafood. We spent the night near the airport prior to an early morning flight, this was a perfect spot for dinner looking out over the Bay and watching planes landing and taking off from SFO. The Hanger is located in the Marriott hotel. Parking is validated.
Best prime rib steak with peppercorn sauce to add and delicious salad. I got my steak fix. Left me craving for more the next day.
Execellent service and foods. Awesome view of the SFO airport runway.
We've always enjoyed this restaurant. You will not be disappointed! The food is excellent and the service is always on point.
We were quite happy with all aspects of our meal. Two split a steak and a pasta dish (high recommend the pasta dish with butternut squash and brussel sprouts), the kitchen presented this in on different plates, so as to avoid the hassel of sharing at the table. The veggies, esp sweet potatoes, were delicious. Great steaks and sauce, exceptional service. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, busy by the time we left, and there was no lapse in service. Thank you for making the boss look good.
We went there for a quick meal during a stopover on the way from Oz to Cabo. Seafood chowder and a glass of Ch St Jean Sonoma chardonnay. The gratis nibbles came with an excellent olive oil. Service was brisk and attentive, a pleasant room, we liked the wine, the chowder was too much bread and too little chowder. Others have said that the place is on the expensive side, we'd agree with that. Average but convenient to where were staying, so that counted .. 😄 .. !
Brought an out-of-town friend here for a lovely view of San Francisco Bay, and to see airplanes take off and land from the airport. Great meals, large and filling, with unique ingredients! Service was a bit slow despite them not being full, and we had to chase someone down when we wanted our check, but otherwise a great experience. Would still go again to try more of the menu items.
We had Thanksgiving dinner here. The food tasted good, but the restaurant wasn't crowded and it took a long time. We sat for 10 minutes before seeing any server for even a glass of water. Our meal was $200 total, not great value for money overall.
thanks anyway, moving on to a new restaurant next time we are in SF.
Great food, great signature cocktails, and great kids menu. I would definitely return.
We arrived and were seated quickly, we were told upfront "they apologize but service will be a little longer tonight" We did not notice as they attended to all the other needs during the wait. Food was excellent. One issue is the parking. It is part of the hotel and is validated but when I checked out it did not recognize the validation, a good thing once I pushed the button for an attendant he took care of everything and we were on our way.
The foods were decent (nothing special) and reasonable priced considering it is located inside Marriot Hotel. But as a ocean front hotel, they have a great scenery which you don’t want to miss!
We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We were a group of 4 and came here for a small family birthday gathering. Our server was very helpful in explaining the menu and making recommendations. He even brought us a small complimentary dessert when he learned of the birthday!
We had a good experience. We ordered Cesar salad and split it for 2;side of risotto and filet mignon with lobster=surf n turf; rib eye and for dessert we ordered the apple cobbler. The service was good. They didn't present our order as we are used to from a typical steak house in SF. The Cesar salad was served on something we had to guess what it was...cheese fried bread🤷♀️. It would be nice to have water refilled without having to flag someone down. We received our check and we had to wait a lengthy time and finally had to flag our waiter down to take our credit card. The bill was $155 without alcohol. It's quiet pricey for adequate service. I would expect to be seated at the window on the water if I made reservations weeks ahead of time, but we weren't. Don't get me wrong we still had a view...the windows are large and we could see around the other patrons seated by the window. It's a great location on the water near the airport, but it's pricey.
Overall nice experience, actually the initial welcome & greeting were the evening highlight, everything else was average. Great view but the price is very touristy for the menu items & level of service. Not a great menu selection as well. Drink order wrong twice, waiter never returned to check on us, sides ala carte approach is not appealing; far from a Ruth’s Chris Steak House for certain. Parking was good, and great spot for people watching. Would not recommend as a spot to celebrate or impress, but would not completely discourage others for a general evening out.
Because it's in an Hotel the kitchen has lots of demands. Therefore service was very slow. It would have been very special otherwise.
Excellent steak. Great and prompt service. Quiet environment.
Nothing special about food, especially considering the price. VERY SLOW service. Polite staff but they have no direction or sense of urgency. Not that we were in a hurry but you will have to hunt someone down if you need anything. Beautiful view though and nice decor.
The evening of our meal was the hottest day on record for California. 115ºF. We entered the Hotel (beautiful hotel) and went to the restaurant. We sere seated at the window. The air conditioning vent was directly and blowing full snow flakes. We froze!
The bread and dip was amazing...clearly the bet part of the meal. I ordered a Ceasar and the plank wrapped Salmon. ridiculous amount of garlic which completely overwhelmed the Salmon. it was terrible. The Margarita was awesome! But didn't make up for the food quality. Did I say Freezing? Really freezing which ruined out night out. I can't believe i'm complaining of freezing on the hottest most sweltering day of the century. Our waiter, Kelvin, was amazing. Attentive, eye on the ball, quick and with good suggestions. The price tag i nearly choked. At nearly $300 for our meal, i expected to be wowed. Completely under amazed. I will not return to this restaurant.
However, the Hotel is amazing and beautiful and the bar area, which also have food, could easily be a vibrant hot spot.
This was an overnight stay prior to an early morning flight. We enjoyed the water view and watching the planes take off and land on the runways on the far side of the water. The food was quite good as was the wine, although a bit pricey. I would stay at the Marriott Airport Waterfront again and would dine in the Hanger Steak restaurant again.
The ambiance of the restaurant was superb, with breath-taking views of the bay and airport. We were greeted promptly and treated very respectfully and warmly by the staff. Our waiter was OUTSTANDING and accommodating. Our steaks were superb, perfectly cooked. The blue cheese wedge salad was generous and the dressing excellent. Mushroom soup was heavenly. I'd go back her in a second.
Great for leaving next day out of SFO. Restaurant and service is good although pricey. My wife loved lamb appetizer. She is picky and ate it all.
Great food but service was ok. Our waiter forgot 2 items and it took a while for the drinks and food.
Staff was very nice, awesome views and the food was really good.
Service was a little slow to begin. Food was very good and comparable to many mid-upper end steakhouses. Premium wine list was excellent - one of our favorites vineyards was prominent. Enjoyed the dinner
