My Brother came to visit.
THIS IS FOR MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH ONLY:
Our first mother’s day was the reason we’ve been going to this place every year (since 2010). Over the years, it’s gone from a glamorous event to a below average one, with quality and variety of food suffering (not to mention the price increasing).
If it wasn’t for the tradition of going there since my daughter was born, we would have avoided this place for Mother’s Day.
Took too long to get our food. It was not cooked correctly and was too much money for what we got. Would never back for lunch
My daughter had the Caesar salad, the salad had too much dressing, to the point that the lettuce didn’t feel fresh and crunchy.
The kids hamburger was a joke, it would be better to have I solid hamburger than two tiny buns with even a smaller size hamburger in it.
I was disappointed with my fillet mignon, my husband makes it better!
My husband had the chicken and it was good.
The gentleman who served us was really nice and polite.
All in all, we won’t be coming back.
Very good food but could be staffed a bit more. Staff was great but you could see they were a bit undermanned
People who could afford it and do mention low salt if you don’t like salty diet.
Food was overpriced and disappointing. Salad was brown and bitter. Really disappointing.
This was one of the more delicious meals we've had in a while. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, and everything was timed perfectly. It's a nice place to be able to have a conversation.
Way overpriced for what you get. Service was great but the place was empty.
Food and Service was Great!!!!
Great place for a date - nice energy, not loud or crowded and able to enjoy great conversation with my wife. We had the BLT salad with goddess dressing (shared one and was the right portion for each). I ordered the filet which was perfect, exceptionally seasoned and seared with a fantastic finish. I paired my steak with the sun dried tomato and scalloped mashed potatoes and lobster mac and cheese... The best steak dinner I've had (my wife second's that notion 👍👍).
Great service and food!
For a hotel restaurant not bad
Great place for an early bite before going to the airport
Confusion at reception regarding where I requested to be seated. Then server confusion or more to the point, no server at all at first, no complimentary bread and oil, etc, after requested balsamic vinegar, confusion as to whether they had any balsamic vinegar , balsamic vinegar, really!!!!???
Food was good if you want a quiet dinner and then go watch planes taking off or landing, as the restaurant is opposite the SFO runway in Burlingame.
Not sure given the high prices at the restaurant that the location is situated correctly. The restaurant should be in a Four Seasons or something similar, it’s a bit off putting that it’s around the back of a Marriott Hotel.
Third time here and food was very good again.
We come every year to this restaurant for an annual get together of 6 friends. We always enjoyed the Hangar restaurant in the actual restaurant. This year on Saturday lunch was in the atrium.
We prefer the actual restaurant setting. It is a more warm setting and comfortable for visiting and relaxing for a couple of hours.
Hope Saturday lunch will return to the actual restaurant when we return next year.
Food was good (except the inconsistently cooked carrots). Service was good (nothing special). Nothing special about the ambiance, and noise level was moderately loud. The meal was overpriced, but given it was Christmas it was expected.
Horrible! Super slow service. Tough steak, over cooked halibut, skimpy portions. We went for Christmas. Never again!!! Not worth the 261.00 price tag for 4 people that left hungry.
Christmas Eve dinner. Our waitress seemed to be new and our orders were confused. We asked for a second round of drinks but one of my guests was forgotten. We ordered a baked potato but was served sweet potato. I think she was overwhelmed.
Wanted a nice restaurant where I could meet a friend who was on a stopover through SFO. This restaurant was the perfect ambience - quiet, great food and the service was great. There is not a huge selection to chose from, but what was available was fantastic - really enjoyed our evening catching up.
Hangar is a restaurant inside the Marriott hotel near the San Francisco Airport. There is a nice view of the bay and the arriving air planes. It is a convenient place to meet someone before they depart on a flight or right after they arrive if people have a rushed schedule. The hotel is right on the side of the bay. If you sit by the window you feel like you are about 10 feet from the water (its more).
The restaurant is on the ground floor and one must walk across a cavernous lobby bar. The arrival experience is not very impressive but again the location is the reason we ate there. The place is a steak house but is typical of hotel fair. There is something for meat eaters, a fish entrée , a chicken entrée, as well as a vegetarian dish.
The service was so-so, the food was OK but nothing to want to come back for, I would say the location and the daytime view could make this a place to meet again.
We asked for a quiet spot and they really delivered on this. But it was because they had very few people in the restaurant the Thursday evening we were there.
We usually visit the Marriott at SFO once a year and have dinner here. Great steaks and seafood, helpful service, well mixed drinks. One odd point, "out of bernaise sauce", not one would expect in a steak house.
I was there for a pre-birthday dinner before going on a trip out of SFO. I noted that it was a birthday dinner in the comments of the reservation. There was nothing done for her, for that occasion. The service was very slow for not being crowded at all. I did not think it was worth the price I paid.
Hangar is inside the Airport Marriott. Very quiet. Excellent service. My wife had lobster tail and filet and it was terrific. I had the salmon--also excellent. Great place when you are at the hotel and don't fell like venturing out.
The food was excellent. Nice menu and specials. Where this place fails in is service. One cocktail arrived and 10 mins passed before the next one arrived. Waiter brought the wrong wine. Food arrived at different times as well. Ordered appetizers that never came, but remained on the bill. I had to pour my own glass of $75.00 wine with a $44.00 steak.
Service was slow because there didn’t seem to be enough employees. Both main dishes were good. Asparagus was good as well. The creamed spinach was not good at all. Both of us stopped eating it after one bite. We were seated next to the window with a nice view. It was a bit cold as the air conditioning was on. A group next to us asked to be moved do to the coldness. They moved to a table with no view.
We wound up not dining there. They had removed some of the best items from the menu and of the items left, they were out of several. Apparently they were undergoing some kitchen renovation however it would have been nice if they had posted this on their web page. My first visit there was very good. I hope they get back to that point again once their renovation is complete.
Would be fine but the service was soooo slow. Took forever for each part of the meal. The food was ok but way overpriced for the quality and service. Basically eat Olive Garden but pay Ruth Chris
the side of vegetable ($8) was mediocre and the steak was just ok but costly.
Extremely overpriced menu for just about all the items. The lobster mac and cheese is real good as well as the risotto meal (both overpriced). Our waiter was very difficult to get throughout our entire dining experience and I'm not sure why, because there were probably only a total of 6 tables seated and he wasn't the only server.
Service was efficient, polite and overall very good - I loved the food - little gem salad with bacon and goat cheese made me swoon - I ordered a side of mushroom risotto and was delighted with this very generous portion - the view of SFO runways and watching airplanes take off and land was exhilarating !!
Great spot in the Burlingame Marriott Hotel - highly recommended !!!
Cioppino was excellent! Pricing on EVERYTHING is a bit high but all food was delicious!!
Fantastic bay view with planes landing and taking off from SFO. Very quiet/uncrowded, so it was easy to converse and enjoy the atmosphere even though it’s a hotel lobby location.
My husband had an excellent ribeye with blue cheese sauce and sweet potato fries; I had a watermelon salad and risotto completely filling and yummy.
Service was very good and we had all the time we wanted to enjoy the wonderful sights!
Plan to go back soon!
Five-Star Waterfront View with a Five-Star Menu along with the Five-Star Service from the front desk to our fabulous waiter. Thank You Hangar Steak Restaurant!!
The ambiance and food were wonderful. Love the lobster and crab sliders and seafood chowder was flavorful and delicious. Service was a bit spotty. However there was a large wedding banquet nearby, so that might be the reason, because typically the service is very good.
Excellent food , best sea chowder soup in SF area . We are not locals , so every time we fly out of SFO we stop by to get soup there . Made reservation there , ordered our usual chowder soup , when our food arrived , we were served 2 small cups of soup , little 2 little dinky cups of soup for $18 each . When we asked server whats the deal with that , he seemed like he didnt care and i told him we ordered bowls of soup . When we were ready to go he offered us some soup to go . Food is great , although very pricey . Parking is validated by restaurant .
Fantastic food coupled with excellent service.
The initial service was very good but tended to taper off as things went along.
A long wait for the appetizer to arrive. Once the appetizer arrived things moved along quickly. The cheese plate was very good. The steaks were tasty and huge. Enough to share as well as the sides.
One concern was the plates that the steaks were served on. While cutting the steak/entrée the plate slid and danced across the table. Re think that mgt.
Overall a nice evening. Tasty steaks. Huge portions. Bring the food size down as well as the price and you have a home run.
The ambience is very relaxing and comfortable. The service is outstanding, Mel was our waiter, who knows his craft very well. I had the cioppino, which was the best I have had in quite a while, the seafood was perfect and not over cooked, which also came with garlic bread. Definitely will be back for the cioppino. My friend had the ribeye, which is huge and very juicy. We also had a great bottle of red wine with our meal. It was very enjoyable watching the jets fly in and out of SFO. A huge plus, they validate parking.
