Specializing in authentic sushi dishes, Hanaro is in the heart of Bethesda and offers a wonderful setting for a meal as well as a cocktail and nibble. Perfect for family and group meals, it is also a nice spot for a romantic dinner or a drink with friends. With a happy hour Monday through Friday, you can choose from a nice array of drink and food specials.
The lunch and dinner menus at Hanaro, though, are much more expansive and feature plenty of sushi along with many specialty dishes. Starters can include the signature tacos that are served on tortillas and can include Korean BBQ or unique seafood fillings. There are also unique entrées, noodle dishes and tempting desserts, including mochi ice creams. A meal at Hanaro is sure to be a treat, whether it is at happy hour or with the family.
Had a great dinner here. The happy hour deals are great! Can't wait to come back!
Gave Hanaro a try after being a loyal and dedicated customer of another sushi place close by. I was blown away by how great the food was. I had always passed by Hanaro and never went inside, and boy was I impressed.
My party of three started off with the steamed Pork dumplings and Calamari. The Calamari was delicious: light, fluffy, amazing. I also had the House Salad.
For my main, I ordered the Volcano, Maryland, and Eel Rolls. All were amazing. 5/5 stars, will most definitely return.
We are not from the area and just picked Hanaro as a last minute dinner spot. We were pleasantly surprised to find that Hanaro is not only a great place to hang out but the food is amazing! We loved the new Sashimi salad, the sushi and the fried rice!
The food is good the service is not. Poor ambiance.
Our dinner was enjoyable but the sushi is not that remarkable. It was OK. The attention and service was impeccable.
Worst sushi experience I ever had... The lounge portion had a loud live group playing. Not the ideal ambiance one expects from a Japanese restaurant. Still trying to find the best sushi in Bethesda. Sushi Taro in DC is good. (The sushi is worst then pre-made to-go sushi that you can buy at stores such as Whole Foods and/or Safeway)
Service was slow and unattentive..probably due to young inexperienced server...it was hard to eat in this place..but we were so hungry
Good sushi - nice selection!
Slightly loud but easily worth the noise factor.
Thanks for a wonderful 1st time experience. The sushi & sashimi was simply fabulous. The fried rice was sublime--the vegetables still had their crunch! Our entire family are foodies; the 6 & 17 year old raved about the fried rice. My husband & I tried, we concur. Ms. Ung provided great service.
