We had a wonderful table with a view of the San Francisco Bay. There were no other groups in the hibachi area, just us. The service was efficient, prompt and courteous. Food was also great.
I wasn’t told we had to sit with a whole other family, I would’ve much rather sit with just mine. Took a while to receive our drinks and we waited for a chef for almost an hour. The food was amazing, I would just like to be told about more guests sitting before hand. We asked for more napkins and they never came. All in all service was okay but the food was great. Any special requests I asked though I never saw. But it was for Father’s Day and my father enjoyed himself. That’s all that mattered
The wait time to be seated was almost 30 minutes when I showed up early for my 5:00 reservation. Due to the Covid restrictions being lifted they sat everyone at the table too closely together. I felt that they should
at least keep one chair in between parties for separation. I even asked yo be placed in the tent outside and my food to be made in the back for convenience but they didn’t want to. My chef was annoyed with people who had allergies or alterations to their meals. I had to ask multiple times for utensils and he still made my food with egg when I reminded him multiple times I didn’t want any. He also made my rice after someone else’s that had shrimp in theirs when I told him I had a seafood allergy. It wasn’t a great experience in my opinion. All I asked was no egg and reminded him I had a seafood allergy. I told him I didn’t mind if someone in the back cooked my food but he insisted.
Everything was great the chef did a great job. The only thing the was an altercation so we had to leave. They gave someone ID to another person police were called. Other than the arguing it was cool.
Couldn't understand the server, cocktail service was slow. Chef had no energy or personality. Also over cooked steak and lobster and sequence of service was poor. Overall would not go back.
Really enjoyed the experience, bar staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent.
Yesterday was my birthday dinner 2021. Really bad cook, bad food, and O.k. customer service...

We had a great dinner ! Our chef was very personable and had great charisma. I would definetly recommend and we will be going back!
We weren't seated until 25 minutes past our reservation time. 40 minutes later the wrong chef came with another tables orders. 20 minutes after that our chef began cooking our order. My 8 year old was charged for an adult entree even though I specifically mentioned the kids menu. My sons girlfriend had to request her steamed rice after the meats were finished. They were just really off last night.
In overall it is good service and amenities good too

Love this place. Have been coming here for years, and I will continue to for years to come. Food is always good, so are the drinks. The tepanyaki show is always entertaining, especially for first timers and kids.
They took a lot of effort to accommodate our large party. They made it work and we had a great birthday dinner for my son.
Wait staff and chefs not in sync. Every order at our table waw screwed up.

Our family loves Hana Japan, especially for special occasions! The food is ALWAYS delicious (and so are the drinks). Plus, the chefs are wonderful and entertaining. We highly recommend Hana Japan!

We were seated within 10 minutes, the drinks were slow in coming, they were 2 servers short, but the food was great and the leftovers are even better!!! We will definitely be going back
Honestly the service was OK today. We had reservations for 5 o’clock and then I noticed that they were seating people who had came in well after us which was a little frustrating. We did not get to our table until close to 6 o’clock. I know Covid makes things a little bit more challenging but if you’re going by reservation then you’re reserved groups should be sat at their table promptly. Another concerning factor was they wanted to put us at a table with another large group I had a group of four which leaves four chairs left as each table seats eight. With Covid I don’t wanna sit that close to four other people and it’s a bit concerning that they were willing to pack the table instead of put a small group of two with our group of four to keep some distance. It looks like a lack of concern for health more of a concern to get paying customers in the empty chairs. We come to Hana Japan a couple times a month, literally the server is no us and our orders by heart when they see us. So overall this time the service was OK, not as great as I’m used to with this establishment.
Reservation was for 6:15, we weren’t seated until at least 7. Waited even longer at our table for any service, drinks, greeting.
People were packed in very close together, sharing tables. We had a child’s birthday, they didn’t believe us because we didn’t have his birth certificate- totally rude about it.
Sunny is a great cook and provided a great ambiance. Great service from staff. Great overall!

The bathrooms were not clean. That was a major issue for me. Cleanliness is essential. The food was good, and service was good.

My family and I love coming to Hana Japan when we can. We’re super happy that they finally were able to open their doors for dine in service. We actually have gone two days in a row and our food preparer Ryan was awesome. Each time we come we hope that we get him because he’s great at what he does he’s friendly and does a great job.
Even though we had reservations we waited about 20 minutes to be seated, also the Devore is okay but I think it’s time for some remodeling. Also the seating arrangement are really great when it comes to social distancing, which is great because they are taking time to make sure all customers are safe. Also the chef was super nice and the food was delicious!

The server was horrible it was empty and I still had to look for the server to order or fill up our water or for anything needed. I will be sticking with Benihana’s they always have above standard service no complaints with them! Sorry Hana Japan I will not be recommending it up guys at all.
