Hammocks Trading Company
Food was great as usual, atmosphere fun, waitress was great! We only wished she had reminded us of crab specials! Menu was on the table, but small and we were busy catching up and didn't see it. Great experience, as usual!
Menu change since we last visited are great. There is something for everyone! Jason and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. The jalapeño hush puppies were fantastic.
Mom wanted seafood to celebrate the special day so we looked up this local place based on ratings. The smell of the good seafood was evident when we walked in. The menu had so many good options it was hard to choose. Ended up having jalapeno cornbread and calamari for appetizers. Enjoyed the grouper sandwich, shrimp po-boy, shrimp and grits, and shrimp and scallops for main course. ALL were great choices. The service was just right to go with the good food. Definitely will make a return visit.
Excellent food, wonderful wait staff, and fun atmosphere!
Super good food, atmosphere and service. Big fan! Will go back again and again. Beachy, fun vibe.
Family get together to celebrate Mother’s Day. The staff was super accommodating to get our large party seated. Wait staff was excellent and the food was delicious!
I went for Mother's Day and the food was great. The service was polite, despite having experienced a big rush. It's a nice place without being too stuffy, and I really liked that. Their salmon is really really good. Don't bother with dessert, it was just average.
Dinner was excellent, will definitely recommend to others and go back ourselves.
Better than average sea food, good flavors and serving sizes. Waiter was very attentive and proficient in serving us dinner. By the time we left the place was full. My wife and I loved the grilled oysters. We would go back again. Wine list needed beefed up.
Fabulous! The salmon cooked in parchment was one of my all time favorite bites! So good!
Great food and awesome service!
Had a group dinner with friends here and it was an absolutely fantastic night! AMAZING food (my first lobster roll, omg) super fun atmosphere, and good service. Would recommend.
I have been to this restaurant many times. Tonight was not good. Ordered scallop special. Only 4 medium scallops on plate, definitely not worth the price. The floor was so sticky around our table our shoes suck to it and the hostess commented some one must have spilled something sticky and walked away. Our waitress didn’t even introduce herself. Overall a very disappointing dinner experience
Went for lunch and had the shrimp and oyster po boys. Both were delicious. Arrived about 1pm on a Tuesday and were seated immediately. The server was friendly and attentive. I will return to try other menu items.
Love this place
We love Hammocks. They never disappoint. It’s one of the few places where you can have a really delicious and impressive meal without having to get really dressed up! They have 5 star food and service at 3 star prices in a casual, beach atmosphere. They also have a large patio seating area-which there is far too little of in a city like Atlanta with such a moderate climate. We often bring our out of town guests here, and they have all enjoyed it as well.
One of our favorite 'go to; rstaurants. Never disappointed!!
This restuarant is more of a fish shack. Fine if you are in the mood for that but comes across as more of a fine dining establishment on open table. Pricy for the environment.
Started with the Sangria special, red for me, white for my wife. Both were excellent and a great value at $5 each.
Wife had a trio of veggies as her entree: tomato cucumber salad, roasted cauliflower and fried green tomatoes. She said all were good.
I had a dozen raw oysters to start. And I have to add the fresh horseradish is the best I have ever had, will open you up in a very big way. Oysters were briny and delicious.
I had a popcorn shrimp basket as the entree. Shrimp and fries were very good and the side of cole slaw was excellent, would have liked more!
Delightful server with an Australian accent kept everything on pace.
Food was excellent. Between all of us we had 5 different kinds of fish and we were all very happy. Many sides to choose from. Reasonable prices
Each time we dine at Hammocks we are so pleased with our meal. They really know how to cook fish! We each had blackened grouper on our salads which was delicious!
Wait staff was excellent. Menu recommendations were on point. Calamari and fish & chips were left in the frier just a little bit too long, but otherwise everything was really good.
Our appetizer took one hour to arrive. Our entrée took another hour. The wait was absurd and the staff kept apologizing but it didn’t speed things up. We brought guests and we were embarrassed. When the entrée finally arrived, the clams did not taste fresh. The manager and everyone apologize that our entire dinner took almost 3 hours but the experience was abysmal and we understand it is not an isolated incident.
Waited long for waitress to come table. Ordered second drink—came 15 min after ordered (finished meal). Ordered 6 baked oysters-got 5. Slow to bring bill. Food was pretty good. Will try it one more time.
A very good dependable neighborhood restaurant, especially if you like seafood dishes. A casual and comfortable place.
Always a treat! Service was a little slow, but our server kept us informed. Busy, so somewhat understandable. My raw oysters were plump & tasty, and the halibut sublime!
Now in addition to their oyster bar - they now have cold shrimp cocktail !!!!!!
Took our friends as we enjoy the restaurant but was embarrassed by the terrible service
Took over 45 minutes just to get the kids food
Table behind came in after us and were served with food before us
Waitress forgot a second order of drinks
Food was good but service unacceptable
The staff was friendly and attentive but the food was even better. Lacks ambiance and had to request they give new glass and silverware as the dishwasher didn’t do a good job cleaning all debris.
I believe the seafood that the people in my group got was good but the steak and green beans I got were not! There was so much butter on the steak you couldn’t taste it and the beans were mostly grease! I’m not a seafood lover so I guess this is not the place for me.
I generally like. Hammocks but that night. It was extremely noisy, service was a bit slow as the place was busy, and my fish was a bit overcooked. Will go back at less busy time.
Food and drinks both took a long time to come out. Very good otherwise.
It was a beautiful day to sit outside. There were too few servers working very hard.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food.
I ordered the salmon BLT. the sandwich came with bread that was not toasted (I assumed it would be). They laid sliced pickles on top of the bread. This made the bread soggy... not worth the presentation. My guests ordered the tacos. There were 2 burritos, each with 2 flour tortillas wrapped around the filling. there was more tortillas than there was filling. not worth the money.
We enjoy coming but on a Friday night it’s impossible to park.
We enjoy Hammocks but it was not a good night. Short servers so everyone was crazed. 2 sides came out cold, sent them back and it too 20 mins to get them again. Also left something off order completely, at that point we didn’t want the item anymore. They apologized which was nice. Both fish dishes were over cooked. I just hope this was a one-time issue and that things will go back to being great again.
Some of the BEST JUMBO SHRIMP you will ever let sit in your mouth before it makes that smooth trip to your belly. I highly recommend this place and all of it's offerings.
Gumbo, appetizer and entree all came at the same time. Server seemed fine, kitchen seemed dysfunctional. Food was good, just cool by the time I finished the gumbo.
Really good seafood spot. I was nervous about getting crab cakes outside of Maryland but they were surprisingly good. Service was great as well. Might just make it a monthly spot.
Service is excellent
Entrees and apps were good, sides were hit or miss
