Hamilton's Kitchen at the Alfond Inn

Bad service. No hot food. Only cold food. Offered six items.
The three of us had an outstanding breakfast experience at Hamilton's on the porch area recently. The food and service were just the best.
I’ve been twice to the jazz brunch and everything is awesome except the service. It’s terrible only because we wait forever to place our order and then for the food to arrive. This last time I sat down to a dirty side plate on the table- coffee stains on it. The place is beautiful and I love the live music during the jazz brunch. Hire some more waiters!!!!!!
Wonderful food, atmosphere, and welcomed our 6 month old baby girl which we loved! Came for brunch and it was excellent!
It was wonderful. Beautiful setting to a lovely meal.
Sat outside which is lovely; the inside dining room is like sitting in someone’s brown kitchen nook.
Fish was over cooked. Server was good but bread was brought out and no attention to the fact we had no plates, flatware or napkins; had to get up to find server by then bread was cold. Bread basket had 5 rolls and 1 pat of butter in butter dish. Then had to order more butter but had to ask twice.
The ambiance is lovely, the dining room quiet and the waitstaff courteous and helpful. The food, however, was subpar, and did not measure up to meals we'd had there before. Crispy Sous Vide Duck Breast - done to a perfect pink center - was tough and the skin was anything but crispy. Sweet potatoes were cold and the Brussels sprouts were really crunchy (read tough). My husband had seafood risotto which was not made with risotto rice (Arborio or Carnaroli) and was swimming in some sort of creamy sauce that is uncharacteristic of a true risotto. The seafood was pretty good, however.
The bright spot was the butterscotch pudding in a jar for dessert. That dish never fails to please.
The pups and I enjoyed a lovely Sunday Brunch in perfect outdoor weather conditions.
Love this place one of our favs
Waldorf salad and sea bass! Excellent! And the prices are reasonable.
Our meal was delightful. Seated outdoors on the patio, we enjoyed a quiet atmosphere where we could talk in normal tones while enjoying a business lunch.
Our server, Eduardo, was efficient and attentive, but never intrusive. All of our meals were prepared to perfection.
Had a great meal and experience on Valentine’s Day. I highly recommend to anyone in winter park looking for a great meal.
The decor reminded us of a Hilton Garden Inn. The menu variety was good, but the quality of food did not match the price.
Love Hamilton's! Unfortunately, this visit was just OK. They did not have scallops at 745 in the evening and the were only about 6-7 tables eating. The risotto was luke warm. Butterscotch pudding was fantastic, but the chocolate toffee accent pieces were so chewy and stuck to our teeth that we didn't have a second bite. I was celebrating a very personal accomplishment with my husband and walked away with just an "ok" feeling at the end. Service was great and chef David stopped by to check on us a few times, which was very nice.
Poor service, took 20 min to locate bottle of wine, food, although very flavorful, arrived cold
My two friends and I enjoyed a relaxing, delicious culinary experience while dining on the patio at the Alfond Inn. The food was interesting without being pretentious or complex for the sake of complexity. The ambience was delightful, and the service superb. I will be returning to Hamilton's soon!
Booked brunch for 1:15 did not get seated until 1:30 then waited 50 min for food which came out overcooked and lukewarm...traveled from Palm Beach Gardens for the day and was sooooo disappointed. They did comp us the overcooked meal but it ruined the experience. Seemed like not enough wait or kitchen staff to handle the number of reservations/walk ins for the day.
We have always had good food at this restaurant. The service was very slow and less good than all the other tables around us. I can only assume that the waiter was not a good one. My salmon was excellent, like I would expect here. My wife's chicken was flavorful, but the gnocchi served with it was awful. The salad I had was large and excellent, though the pear balls were too hard. This is a step backward for this restaurant, mostly due to the waiter. We cut having desert short, because the service was so terrible.
Love the hotel. Love the art ! Space was amazing and server was fantastic. The food was shameful.
I have lost track of the number of meals I have had at Hamilton's. Every meal has been wonderful and the service has been consistently outstanding. It always feels like a room full of friends, even if you are just passing through town.
Celebrated my wife’s 60th birthday and we had an excellent experience! The lunch/brunch menu was excellent and the food quality and presentation were amazing. Best of all was the service we received from Eduardo - a true professional that provided warm and super friendly service!
Did not have a great experience. Have been there multiple times before but this time we noticed the place needed a deep cleaning. Dust on trim work all throughout the restaurant, I was given a mug twice that had lipstick on it. The server seemed annoyed that I brought this to his attention since it happened twice! Not sure what is going on with management there but for as beautiful as the Alfond is the service and standard at Hamilton were disappointing.
We had a fabulous brunch there on Sunday before we went to see Hamilton. The ambiance was delightful, service was good and the food was delicious. We even had a saxophonist as entertainment. Truly enjoyed the experience.
The food was fantastic and the service was wonderful.
The duck was terrible, sent it back and still couldn’t eat it when it came back out. Tuna tartare was hard to eat, the pieces weren’t cut well.
The crispy duck was outstanding, the Waygu rib eye was very good. Disappointed they took the Biscoff Creme Brulee off of the menu, was really looking forward to trying that.
Excellent food. Ambiance needs to compliment style of food. Nice wine selection.
The food was slow in coming and our fish dishes were cold as well as the rice with it.
The dessert took a long time to be served - it was ice cream with fruit.
Our experience met and in some ways exceeded our expectations. As an example, the chef stopped by our table to inquire how we were enjoying our entrees. This was a nice touch and very much appreciated.
The restaurant charges way too much for what it is. The salad was not fresh and we had to send it back. We ordered the veal at medium temperature and it came out well-done. Sending back 2 dishes is unacceptable for the restaurant of this caliber! Very disappointed.
My son ordered a porterhouse veal chop and was brought a pork chop he had to point it out to the server that it was not a porterhouse wheelchair. I ordered the mac & cheese with crab and there was little or no crab in the dish. We eat at the Alfond a lot because we live in the neighborhood and it’s a wonderful place to go to but tonight’s meal it was way less than expected.
I’ve never experienced such a displeasing experience. Our server couldn’t have cared less about our table. It was very loud in the restaurant, and our table couldn’t hear the server. She made no attempt to accommodate for that. Nor did she recognize that there was an issue. She didn’t bother to ask the chef for a meal accommodation, or notice coffee needed refilling. There was no sense of ownership in her job duties. Have heart with your job no matter what it is. This includes your check in counter. There was no greeting or personal acknowledgement. This is an expensive hotel and all aspects of it should have the utmost of customer service!! Even the restrooms were dirty and not kempt. I had to tell the front desk. Much to be desired for such a beautiful hotel!
Steve (chef) is amazing
It was wonderful. We were there for a breakfast/brunch business meeting with an out-of-town guest, and the food and service couldn't have been better. Those shrimp and grits are classic.
This place has been so up and down, but lately the service has been really lacking. I still tip the server the 20 % because I think the problem is understaffing/management. It's a pity because it is a beautiful restaurant, and the food is usually above average.
Great lunch but they sat us 45 minutes after our reservation
The place was very busy on Sunday for brunch. We ended up being there around 2 hours due to the time it took to get our meals (salad and breakfast plate) I’d return because it was a nice atmosphere but to service was a bit slow. Our server was great and appologized with a comp of our cocktail.
The only glitch is that the noise coming from the kitchen is a tad too much - Apart from that, everything was great as usual.
We had one of the best dining experiences ever. Food was outstanding, service was great and ambience was spectacular. We dined here on our wedding night a few months back. Executive Chef remembered us and came over to say hello. Hamilton’s will be our go to when friends and family come to visit or any time we want an exceptional meal!
Outstanding service from Eduardo. Dinner was memorable and delicious. I love this place.
