It was my first time at The Hamilton's Kitchen and my girlfriends and I were impressed. Great atmosphere , great food, awesome bottomless mimosas and amazing service. Rachel was so personable and great! Will definetly yo back!
My wife and I are used to excellent food in restaurants, and moving to Orlando from New Orleans we have found quite a few good restaurants in the area. Hamilton's Kitchen was not one of those. After several personal recommendations and great reviews we decided to try the place. Summarizing high and low points: The cocktails were very weak, bordering on non-existent alcohol, and with an over-abundance of ice cubes that basically took all the volume in the glass. The wild mushroom and mixed beet appetizers were excellent. The rack of lamb was a disaster. It was extremely difficult to cut (knives weren't the sharpest either), and even harder to chew. It was a bad cut at a high price. We told the waitress. No response. Granted we should have sent it back, but we feel the restaurant should have stepped up as well. We told another employee on our way out -- and were chastised for not sending it back (as opposed to apologizing)! My Kurobuta-sourced pork shank (osso bucco style) was tasty but extremely dry and lacking in sauce. As tender as the pork was, my steak knife also had a problem similar to the lamb knife. It wouldn't cut; it would only tear. The creme brulee dessert was average. I've been told the butterscotch dessert is quite good, but by then we'd had it and didn't order a second dessert. At the price point, I would not recommend the restaurant.
A lot noisier than the previous 2 times I have been there. Disappointed in my eggs Benedict. There was nothing else on the plate. 1/2 of plate was empty. Should have had a tomato slice and/or some fresh fruit or something else on the plate. Looked like they didn’t finish plating it.
On a recent beautiful Tuesday afternoon my wife and I brought with us a visiting major university administrator to have lunch/brunch on Hamilton's covered terrace. And we all enjoyed the experience thoroughly. The atmosphere, service, and food couldn't have been better. The menu has so many wonderful choices it's difficult to made a decision. So my wife and I, with or without guests, look forward to coming back soon. Winter Park is so fortunate to have the Alfond Inn and its Hamilton's Kitchen.
Dan was great!!
I was excited to see so many of my favorites on a menu, octopus was great my "pork &beans" was a great idea but the belly of pork tasted more like roast pork. Not the fatty juicy taste I expected, the server was very good and attentive had great local knowledge. The property is beautiful, valet parking was very good friendly and efficient
Beautiful courtyard. Reasonably priced fresh salads. Flavorful, hearty, hot wild mushroom soup. Great service.
Beautiful setting, excellent food and service. We dined for lunch on the patio - an excellent choice if you have children in your party, as they can enjoy the adjacent gardens. Staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating of our gluten allergies. Also returned to enjoy live music and drinks in the hotel lobby lounge 2 additional times during our brief visit to Winter Park - we will be back for sure!
Came in for my birthday! What a beautiful place and the food was amazing!
We were celebrating my mother’s 80th birthday. The waitress was very sweet and brought over a little brunch dessert and sang to her. Breakfast was very good - I would definitely return. It’s a nice atmosphere. It’s just a tad pricey!
Great dining and reasonable prices. Interior is nicely done with upscale feel. We look forward to our next visit.
Our server Dan was fantastic! He made our easter Brunch! The food was delicious and the service was great.
We went to the sunrise mass for Easter Sunday. After the mass we all met at Hamilton's for a great brunch.
Having travelled for the last 2 weeks in Florida the meal here was bar far the best we have had - fresh and very tasty
Waiter was absolutely fantastic. As nice as nice can be. And extremely attentive.
Very classy - had card congratulating on anniversary and served truffles for complimentary dessert with chocolate heart on plate.
Good food, good wine, wonderful patio dinner with great service by Kimberly.
We Ubered there and back from our house which made a fine excuse for Park Avenue Pearl cocktails.
Beautiful location. Good food, but ran out of more than 3 items on menu at an early 7pm reservation..
The operative word for this elegant and well-kept dining establishment in a hotel serving the Rollins College community for the most part, is minimal. The menu selections are short, the servings to be nice, are dainty sized. If you wish to have a piece of bread at the beginning of your meal, sorry they have no bread, just lavash crackers or if you order the charcuterie you are overloaded with hard crostinis to have with the 4 slices of rolled up mortadella, a slice of prosciutto, and some berries. No slice or two of cheese, a piece of genoa salami, pepper, etc. typical of what you expect on such a plate. The price, however, is not minimal - $20. The main courses two types of fish dishes were served just barely warm, although the saving grace for the meal was an excellent New England clam chowder which did come steaming. All in all, the restaurant needs a shake-up from the f & b head to the surly chef and a waitstaff that need more training. Unless you are staying in the hotel and do not want to venture out -- well, on the other hand, that would be a wise decision. There are too many better alternatives just blocks away.
I love the ambiance and outside under cover seating but service was less than desirable. I had to ask for water refill and finally asked for a pitcher of water. Seemed too busy for the amount of staff working. Don’t feel it was staff fault. I knew she felt bad so she brought a desert for moms bday brunch. Management should have come over to acknowledge but no where insight. Prob in the kitchen.
Had a delicious brunch with great service and a beautiful view before heading off to see a play. Everybody very welcoming.
We were so disappointed with the kitchen on this visit. The server was great and he tried his best to keep the kitchen informed. Three people at our table had bona fide allergies and the waiter took very careful notes and have them to the kitchen. Well, don't you know but the first appetizer comes out full of allergen. It was mixed in, so my daughter did not see it at first and had two bites. She spent the remainder of the night in the bathroom.
It was her birthday and the chef put together a mishmash of desserts including a creme brulee. That he lit and started to bring to the table while we were still eating our entrees. He took it back, blew out the flames and sent it back later with a candle. The brulee had been soaking in the leftover alcohol and was totally soggy.
Usually, Hamilton's Kitchen is a delight, but not tonight. It will be a long time until we return.
It was wonderful!
Guys, if you want to impress your wife with “The place to see and be seen.”, Hamilton’s was that oplulent and elegant dining experience.
Eggs undercooked and we both got sick after eating there. Was a memorable anniversary brunch for all the wrong reasons.
Service was friendly and pleasant so a shame the meal was quite disappointing. Dishes trying too hard with tastes and textures that did not work. Nice restaurant interior although Alfond Inn a bit pretentious. Meal was vastly overpriced and we would have been better served to dine in the town centre where there are many restaurants to choose from.
The service at the Hamilton is truly outstanding. I was celebrating my 21st birthday with a friend, and the surprise mimosas and chef's surprise dish pushed the experience over the top. Our server was friendly and knowledgable. Overall, love this place! Will definitely be coming back and referring friends.
Eduardo is best waiter ever!!!
Love their outdoor dining and the excellent staff. Food is alway done well.
I love the ambiance of The Alfond. The dinner menu, while good needs to be expanded. There are less than 10 main options and when you want to go there frequently, the choices are very limited especially if you want to stick with fish or veggie. There should be an additional nightly “special” to offer some variety. The limited choices suggest gearing toward hotel guests who will only eat there once, rather than locals who love the space and atmosphere and would like to go often.
Excellent as always.
I love the Hamilton Inn. The ambiance is simply beautiful with the garden, art and grace that is the Alfond Inn. The food is elevated southern food, which I love, but heavy on the brunch options. I LOVE the shrimp and grits!
Unfortunately, they are not staffed up enough to handle a weekend full house, and therefore the service was difficult for our server (I cant blame her, she had too many tables, and we were also a larger group). My mother, whose birthday we were celebrating, is a vegetarian and there were not enough vegetarian and vegetable-forward options on the menu.
If they can staff up to handle a full house, and add some more creative and vegetarian options to their menu, this would be an outstanding place for a special occasion, girls luncheon, or dinner.
Excellent meal and superb presentation. Service was very average. We were there for our anniversary and were somewhat disappointed that a little something "extra" was not part of our visit. We had been there before and were treated like royalty with a nice treat.
Food was amazing. Service was awesome. Can't wait to be back.
Great scallops, fantastic pate, octopus dish was not quite cohesive (long strips of errant ham in broth), anchovy to salad proportion seemed off.
Everything was very good. It’s just a little bit too expensive. We sat outside which was very nice as the dining room was freezing cold with the AC.
I have been to Hamilton’s a few times for both dinner and brunch and the food was always very good. This time I ordered steak which was underwhelming at best. The server did comp my appetizers which was appreciated, though I would have preferred he comp the inedible steak instead. The appetizers were very good. Ultimately I am disappointed as I do like this place. I hope it was an off night.
We were very pleased with our SERVER and greatly appreciated the complimentary glass of champagne for us to toast our Mother on her 90th Birthday. The food was outstanding.
Hamilton’s Kitchen never fails to impress. It’s one of our favorite places to go. Food is fantastic. The service is outstanding. Great ambience. A go to date night.
The scallops had no flavor the blue cheese mash potatoes were bland and the pecan pie crust was not cooked all the way.
The beginning cheese plate was delicious
The makers mark Manhattan was one of the best I have ever tasted.
I have had many yummy lunches there
So I thought that I would give dinner a try
I already have another lunch date planned but I am not sure if I would do dinner there again
