Hamilton's Grill Room
Rack of Lamb was delicious
Wonderful restaurant. Each room has its own personality. All are cozy and warm. The food is exactly what you would expect and fits the atmosphere
Wonderful evening gathering with friends and family at Hamilton’s Grill Room. Everyone was delighted with their choice of entrees all beautifully presented ranging from a hearty lamb stew with polenta to a generous halibut with subtle mushroom jus to an equally generous portion of fresh grilled salmon to plump still seasonal scallops and also a prime grade of beautiful steak that arrived slightly over done and was quickly whisked back to the kitchen and replaced under 3 minutes with a perfect medium-rare. Also not to be missed is a seemingly modest arugula salad with pickled vegetables which is sublime and a perfect transition from summer to fall salad. Desserts looked delicious but everyone was already well-satisfied to indulge ....
Steven has major snob attitude. We eat out regularly in Princeton and NYC and were very disappointed with the level of service provided by Steven. He pretty much ignored us and was not helpful in menu questions.
Great as usual
Food was great waitstaff was attentive and it was a beautiful patio setting. Also loved the BYOB aspect. We will definitely be back!
Always a wonderful experience...food, ambience, service & gorgeous setting!
We had a great experience (as usual) at Hamilton Grill! We were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary and our server Lauren was fantastic! Both of our meals were done to perfection! We will go back sooner rather than later! A big THANK YOU to the entire staff for making our night very special!!!
This is the third time in a month that we’ve been here and every time it is excellent. The food is very well prepared and the staff is friendly and professional.
Great food and excellent service
Slow Sunday. Excellent wait staff but otherwise, no one home
Great service, they made some extra gravy for my daughter.
Fantastic food, my wife said her salmon was the best she had ever eaten
Just remember this is BYOB
We had a wonderful dinner, as usual. This was our second time there, and the food was excellent.
Great all around! Price Fixed Wednesday’s are wonderful!
Food was excellent. Service a bit slow. Luckily we weren't in a hurry, so did not mind.
We sat inside in a nearly empty restaurant. It was a Tuesday night so the place was quiet.
Our server was attentive and friendly. We all enjoyed meals from the menu or from the daily
specials. We all commented on how delicious on each of our choices, especially the vegetable
antipasto. As we all ordered different dishes, scallops, lamb ragout, halibut and the salmon special
and as we shared each other's foods commented on the wonderful tastes we experienced. This is
the place to go for a special dining experience.
Have dined in Hamilton several previous occasions but this recent experience was very disappointing. The food taste did not have nuance that I experienced before. The food taste was more on the “edible” level.
Not sure what has happened. But I will not return.
Spectacular idyllic outdoor setting accompanied by wonderful food and service. Courtyard setting with the Boathouse across the way cannot be topped. A+
Food was delicious and it was a perfect night to dine outside!
I took my wife there for her birthday and were quite disappointed when, at 7 PM we ordered off the price fixe menu, which had 4 main courses, were told 10 mins after ordering that they were out of steak. The other choices were 2 seafood dishes and chicken. Considering the time we ordered and the fact this is considered a steakhouse we were speechless. If we hadn’t opened the wine we would have left. The food itself was okay, for $40 was overpriced, especially the first of 4 courses which was bruschetta on 2 pieces of hard bread. Not really a course in my opinion. We had stopped going to this restaurant 10 years ago because the food had become not worth the trip. We had hopes of the new owner improving the dining experience. We were wrong. The restaurant decor is dated and unchanged since we used to go there 15-20 years ago. The paper covering the table linens was another detail that ruined the experience. On a good note our server was pleasant and prompt. Needless to say, we won’t return.
Great place. Large family birthday party. But need to speak up if something not right. Got table outside by the garbage cans in the back and they were dragged out while we were still eating. Need to install some kind of screen to block view of garbage cans. Waiter Forgot one appetizer, not enough bread for entire party, coffee never came. Hard to get water glasses filled. But can’t beat byo and main entrees were delicious. Fabulous ambiance and just chalked up slow service and mistakes to under staffed at end of summer as extra staff gone back to school.
I celebrated my birthday at Hamilton's Grill with husband and adult kids. The service, food and atmosphere is outstanding. We had scallops with cauliflower puree, steak, lamb over polenta, and the salmon - all were fantastic! We also had oysters, and salads and they were fantastic too. This is my "go to" place for special occasions but to be honest, my husband and I often just show up mid week and it never fails to impress us. I recommend Hamilton's Grill to EVERYONE.
The service was outstanding, professional, attentive but not overly formal. Food was very good quality, fresh ingredients and good preparation!
Fantastic food, phenomenal ambience. Excellent, as always!
My wife and 2 daughters had dinner on the 24th of August for my birthday. We had 4 appetizers that consisted of 2 shrimp and anchovy, 1 salmon cake and 1 gnocchi. Or orders wer pretty simple, 3 steaks and 1 salmon entree. No issues with the apps as they cam hot and were delicious. The issue was with our entrees. ALL entrees were cold. I did not know that they were all cold until I went home and my wife and children told me. The steak comes with butter on the steak, they were so cold the butter did not melt. I had taken a couple of bites out my accompaniments, potatoes and vegetables before I got the waiters attention and to him my steak was cold. He removed the plate and a couple of minutes later returned with a hot steak and COLD accompaniments(the same ones he took away). I gave up and just ate. Normally a $60 per head meal you would expect them to plate fresh accompaniments or maybe comp my meal as it was not enjoyable. Any how the cooking has changed since we were there last and it will be a long time before we go back. Oh and to management get rid of the butcher paper. It really cheapens the whole experience. Looks like you are trying to cut corners with your cooking and linens.
Anniversary - dinner was great and ambiance wonderful - thank you!!
The food is wonderful at this quiet spot in Lambertville near the river. It is a special ambience as well. Very welcoming and relaxing.
Two of us ordered halibut dish. Not much taste. Ambiance outside is delightful. Chocolate mousse delish! I feel that it is overpriced.
I look forward to dining at Hamilton's Grill whenever I'm in Bucks County.
The location is sublime - along the canal in Lambertville - and the food and service are predictably excellent. Fresh ingredients and innovative combinations keep the menu interesting. Seating can be in a more formal dining room, an enclosed porch with festive lights covering the ceiling, or at outdoor tables on a spacious patio shaded by umbrellas. The experience is always a pleasure.
Four of us went to celebrate wedding anniversary. Went for Wed prix fixe. Service by Chanel was excellent. She apologized for the noise level - extremely loud! but calmed down a bit after one large table left. Bread is worth mentioning, comes from bakery in Brooklyn? Goat cheese ravioli as starter was delicious. Pan seared duck breast was awesome as well. Carrot puree was very tasty. Dessert offerings were tiramisu and flourless chocolate tort - both wonderful. Coffee was great too - La Colombe Pacific Blend. Overall a wonderful evening once we got past the fact that we had to be as loud or louder than those around us!! We will be back!
Four of us went for the Wednesday Prix Fixe dinner...Food was average at best and at $40 a head not a good value for the quality of food offered. Many better options around town for less. The restaurant is dated and frankly DIRTY in it's appearance and would benefit greatly from a deep clean and makeover. I would not go back
We frequent the Hamilton Grill often and love it. However, the service can be just average sometimes. This time were very pleased to have a great waitress that even poured our wine after opening the bottle. Previously, the other waitress had never done that.
This was such a wonderful place for my husband and I to have a nice dinner out! We both enjoyed absolutely everything we ate. We didn't know it was BYOB, but we do for next time! I can't wait to go back the next time I am in the area.
We love it here. Awesome all around. Food excellent, service excellent. Five stars. We’ve been here
Everything was lovely. We sat on their cozy patio and enjoyed an amazing meal. We got the ravioli starter, and it was encredible, then I had the grilled trout and my husband had the scallops. Both entrees were scrumptious. The server, Stephanie, was great. We will definitely return.
Worst dining experience EVER! This restaurant has gone downhill since Jim Hamilton (the former owner passed away). The menu offers fewer entrees than before and they are exceedingly expensive $36 - $42).
Went with the family for dinner. After 1 hour and forty minutes our entrees had not been prepared, despite our waiter stating, "your meals will be right up."
This former #1 restaurant in Lambertville has fallen to #11. It is easy to see why. The grill needs serious help. I do not recommend.
It was fabulous
Excellent food, great waitress. Great experience. Would highly recommend.
The food was excellent. Rack of lamb and steak were as good as we’ve had, and the chicken breast was perfectly grilled.
Our server was so sweet, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was beyond amazing ... from our salad to my salmon to the amazing dessert. This place is a gem.
