It’s a great spot to eat in Venice, loved everything,
We have always loved this restaurant, and were happy to see they are back for dining. We felt very safe and social distanced. Food is always great!!!
Birthday. We had a great time!
The best vibe and the best food. The staff is the friendliest.
The food was decent. The ambiente poor and very cramped. It was loud and noisy. All this would have been acceptable if there weren‘t the stiff and awkwardly unfair pricing! For a student ambiente they charge first class prices. Definitely not worth this money! Our most expensive Sushi ever - and very average!
Awesome! Food and ambience was amazing and would definitely recommend!
The food was great! Something must have happened with our order though as our service was very under par. They were gracious about it and took one drink each off our check.
Great food great server but they tried to sit us at a two top right next to someone sitting at bar. There were 12 other 2 tops open. They took 10 minutes to figure out where to seat us and said the floor plan is very specific and our request could mess up their service. They were very rude and cold about it. Shame cause otherwise it’s a neighborhood gem.
The service was great; Jennie was the best.
Sushi is great, but the noise level is highly irritating. We could not wait to leave !!
Always a family favorite! Great service, good sushi and good energy venice vibe.
Visited 1/20/20 w my family by reviewing the yelp and website. The Venice roll ordered suggested by the server, but it was horrible. The fish and rice was wet. It suppose be good for the $21 high price. The 4 star review wasn’t work for us. It is a typical one/two star Japanese Sushi place anywhere in town.
Always a fun, good place to go with a small or large group.
Excellent fresh fish. Combined with great sake!
Sat on the patio, under heat lamp in the back corner and a bit cold. Requested standard inside seating. Food was excellent.
The sashimi was very fresh and good!
Hama is "Old Venice" at its best: eclectic, down-to-earth, exuberant, and authentic. The sushi and other dishes are unfailingly excellent, and the atmosphere about as far from corporate bobo and focus-group hipster as you can get.
They always have great sushi and the service was lovely. It's one of my favorite sushi places on the west side.
Always good. Take the servers suggestions for specials.
Great spot and great happening place. Sitting outside in the bar area is the place to be. Much livelier and more fun.
Very loud local drinking place. Sushi is ok. Servers are very nice.
haven't been here in a long time and it's still the same. Pretty much typical goof ball Venice Beach were people's idea of getting dressed up is a towel over the bathing suit, but the sushi is great and it's loud and in your face...but it's part of the town. Children running around unsupervised, college kids yelling...but all in all a good food night. leave all of your experiences at home and just comer for the sushi...pretty good!
Great food, fresh, flavourful and exactly what you’d expect. Great bar seen and just has a fun neighbourhood feel while being a bit of an iconic sushi trailblazer
Came in with 9 guests 1
45 minutes before our reservation. They moved one things around and got us seated quickly. From there the service and the food were both delightful. What a fantastic meal
- one of the best we’ve had in LA!
The sashimi is so incredibly fresh that it seemed to just melt in your mouth. There was absolutely no fishy taste to it either. The Red Devil roll has a lot of warnings about how spicy it is, but it really isn't that bad... Some creeping heat, but not need-to-drink-milk hot.
Our first time there and we were not disappointed at all. Will go back for sure.
Loud. Pricey. Service nothing to brag about. But food is good.
Great food. Super loud. Lots of post-happy hour intoxicated people at the bar.
Great place - all 5 star
Love this place
Hasn’t changed in years
Great rolls & service
I have not been to Hama in years. It use to be pretty good. Tonight it was sub standard fish cut in unstylish pieces. The Toro wasn’t real Toro it was cross cut Maguro. Toro, should be fatty and tender at the same time. This was not. The salmon skin salad was greasy, The blue fin was tough. Long story short the fish was not up to par.
Great food. A bit noisy.
Fantastic fish - great service - fun time - VERY NOISY.
Delicious food in good authentic ambience. We will definitely come back.
Every time I’m in Venice, Hama is a stop
The patio at hama is so much fun.
We’ve been in love with Hama Sushi for 30 years! Favorite place for top quality sushi experience
Super friendly cool humming vibe, was our first night out in Venice and totally welcome. Valet parking at the door was it !
Neighborhood gem, excellent service. Very tasty, well-prepared dishes.
