Food and service were exceptional.
Best filet and sea bass ever. Our waiter(Jim I think?) made everything flow with precision.
received the usual great service. i like that when you are sitting at one of the bars waiting on your reservation they dont buzz you or text you. they politely come find you and wait for you to close the bar tab and then escort you to the table. mich more elegant process. and of course the food is always good.
Excellent from valet, drinks, service and food! Always enjoy when in town.
Wonderful as always! I had the peppercorn steak and it was delicious!
Hal's is always a fun night for business or friends. The atmosphere is fantastic. The food is always top notch. LOVE HAL"S
Hal’s has always provided premier food and service. I highly recommend Hal’s for a great dinner or Just for a cocktail and dessert
The service was excellent and the steak was outstanding. The side dishes weren’t very different from other steakhouses but for an excellent steak and special occasion - great place. I would go back.
The food and service was good. Music was a little loud for a really nice steakhouse. We will be back.
Loved the atmosphere, the food was outstanding, the waiter was fabulous! I would definitely recommend Hal's and I can't wait to come again!
Brandon and the team that assisted him were amazing. Last time we were there for my birthday our server was horrible and extremely rude. This time everything was great. I will only sit with Brandon from now on.
Excellent service
Food was outstanding, very friendly staff. The music was so so loud that everyone was trying to talk over it which made almost impossible to carry on a conversation. Please turn the music down!
It was a great evening!
We had reservations at 8 PM but, did not get seated until 8:55 PM almost an hour late. The waiter was very accommodating but, one of the girls food was burnt and had to be sent back. I always love Hal’s And this was my first “bad” experience there I realize it was a busy weekend and a Friday night but, to make a reservation and have to wait almost an hour is a little ridiculous especially since two girls ended up having to leave in the middle because it took so long
Moved our table the moment we sat down. Service was terrible. Bones wins again
Food and staff excellent as always. Live music was a bonus
Best steakhouse. Worth traveling to. Ellis was a fantastic waiter. Can’t wait to get back.
Great service great food
Outstanding as always! Hal’s has never disappointed!
Food was excellent. Service was great. Could have done without the cigar odor.
I took my husband here for his birthday dinner. The food was phenomenal - from the appetizer to dessert. He ordered the 16 oz New York strip which was prepared perfectly to his liking. I had the seabass which was truly delicious. Both entrees were off menu items. We were however surprised by how many people were there especially on a Tuesday evening, so the service was rather slow. Other than that our experience was excellent!
A friend had been bragging about Hal’s for months and it lived up to his hype. I've never had a better steak and truffle mac and cheese. I might have found a replacement for another favorite steak restaurant which I frequent. The door guy is super friendly and professional. Honestly, The service could have been better. My waiter was really nice. Although only seeing him interact with two other tables of two, he was super distracted and forgetful, which showed when I waited a long time for my entree after my appetizers. I would still return and give Hal’s another chance.
We arrived about an hour before our reservations and sat at the second floor bar. The dirty martini was on point and our bartender very attentive. Once at our table our server was great and our steaks exemplary!
Everything was remarkable. The service, the food, the atmosphere. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the bread pudding!
A romantic Valentine’s date to remember!
Very good will come back
Way too many people packed into the restaurant considering we're still in a pandemic. There was zero social distancing. Most of the staff wore their mask under their nose. Guests were packed together just maybe a foot from each other. Absolutely irresponsible. It doesn't matter how good the food is. That should not have happened.
Had an internal struggle if I should even leave a review for our Valentines Day visit.
First off, I get it... Valentine's Day is one of the busiest days for restaurants.
That being said sometimes you can cause your own problems. The first thing I noticed walking in was that nobody at has apparently got the Covid-19 memo about social distancing. I understand that during normal times, you pack people in like sardines and throw 2 tops all over the dining room to try to squeeze every dime out of the night.
Unfortunately we don't live in those times right now. So upon being seated upstairs... It kind of felt like one of those speed dating situations where everybody is elbow distance apart.
From there it was just a nosedive. It was painfully evident that the kitchen was crashing due to overcrowding. I heard the servers mentioning they were comping a LOT of items from the other tables..
My first steak came out way beyond requested temperature and salt lick central. Our server was fairly pleasant given the fact that he was waist-deep in the weeds. The second steak was just mediocre.
Obviously it's difficult to do a review of a restaurant on one of its busiest nights during a pandemic. However, I recommended Hals to my girlfriend because of my much more pleasant experiences in the past. I feel like a place of their reputation could have gone the smarter route and not tried to pack so many people into the dining rooms which only caused their kitchen to fail, as well as turned many people off regarding social distancing.
I am sure I'll return one day, but not anytime soon unfortunately.
Valentines Day
Amazing overall
If you use a wheelchair or need any special accommodations do not go to Hal’s. The Parking staff was dismissive of my use of a wheelchair and would not allow me to park in the Hal’s parking. When I parked in another location two of the attendants verbally attacked me and another attacked my girlfriend. Very disappointing. A $300 meal destroyed by three minimum wage attendants. The attendant bragged that they were new to Hal’s and controlled the parking. They would not allow me to park in the very available spaces that have always been provided. I will not return.
First the positives...Hal's has very good food. TMy server did a great job and was fun to talk to.
That said, the ambience is severely lacking. Even in the days of COVID, I feel like they treat their customers as lucky to have the privilege of eating there. From putting tables ridiculously close to each other to not having a corkage fee, it's just not a great environment for a romantic night out. There are many many other steak places I would recommend in Atlanta over Hal's.
Steak was amazing and the lobster Mac was incredible.
Always a great meal and exceptional service. Thank you.
It was valentines day. We were very disappointed with the about of tables they very obviously squeezed into the room. It was packed and overcrowded and very u covid friendly. I was about elbow distance from all the tables around me. We sat near the entrance and had people bumping into our table the entire night. It was incredible food and our waiter was kind but so busy. Hals just threw too much in the room to make a few extra meals but it ruined the experience.
Hal’s is my favorite I go at least twice a month. My only pulse is they never have social distance every table is full.
The service and food were perfect, per usual.
Excellent food...Steak was phenomenal
Arguably the best steakhouse in Atlanta. My wife and I had a beautiful evening. Everyone from the valet to the waiter to the maitre d were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The food was impeccable and melted in your mouth. Every time we go to dinner this is where my wife wants to dine now. Can’t say I blame her. We’ll definitely be back. Hal’s is A-1 and highly recommended.
