   We drive approximately 45 minutes to the restaurant and it was well worth it! We loved the ambiance and both the service and food were terrific. The best watermelon salad I have ever had.

    Come here all the time so not much to say different except it is fantastic and the sashimi napoleon is amazing every time but we were celebrating my son's 14th birthday and he got cold under the fans and they brought him a blanket! He was so stoked on his Bday. Thanks so much!!!

    Food was mediocre, ambience was ehh and service was ok. The only thing that was really fantastic was the famous pineapple upside cake - it does not disappoint. We come here on every visit to Maui and look forward to dessert.

    Excellent food. Excellent service. Excellent experience. Especially liked the pineapple upside down cake and the “Love in a jar” chocolate mousses. Can’t rave enough about this restaurant!!

    Our server was amazing! Food was mostly very good. Nice atmosphere. Excellent vegetarian options (our son is veggie). Only comment we’d make is that it is very expensive… Worth while for a nice dinner out, in beautiful upcountry Maui.

    Haliimaile continues to be a great stop for a meal on Maui. My wife and I have been able to enjoy the friendly efficient staff and the great tasting food on our visits over the past 30 years. You won’t be disappointed.

    Dinner at HGS before heading to the airport was a terrific ending to a great 5-day getaway to Maui! Cocktails and fish entrees leaned into local ingredients; everything tasted fresh. The pineapple upside down dessert is scrumptious!

    Went for Thanksgiving and the food was absolutely delicious. From the salad, to the buffet to the deserts, A+. For what we received it was a good value. I would recommend this restaurant for any special holiday or occasion. You will not be disappointed. Be sure to make reservations a few weeks in advance for holidays though. It books quick.

    Lovely Thanksgiving Dinner buffet. The tent set up was just fine even though it rained and a small portion of the outdoor flooring was wet. Our party of 10 was very pleased overall and the staff was great. We will return!

    We ate at HGS for Thanksgiving. They had a very nice buffet, one inside and one outside in an event tent. We had the outdoor seating and it was so nice. Live music, good food, decorated nicely, great service. A good choice if not eating at home for the holidays.

    Thanksgiving so was very busy. Sat in window so people waiting staring at you Waitess very nice. Ate there week before when not as crowded & able to sit in back room which has more ambiance but inattentive waiter.

    Thanksgiving Buffett party of 9. Let me be clear, it was 6 adults, 1 child, 2 babies & a person with a walker. The process to make reservations we easy. The staff was very professional, reconfirming our reservation twice & very accommodating. The food was delicious. Everyone loved the short ribs especially. Personally, the Turkey was the best I’ve ever had. Only problem now I’ll have to wait until next year. One thing is ADA accessibility. There is a lot of stairs to the entrance doors. We couldn’t find a ramp but I had a walking boot so I hopped it. My son-in-law found a path on the parking lot side of the restaurant. There was about a 2 step deck to get to the back dining room. Other than that the outdoor seating was fantastic, very cozy and the noise level was just right. Our Buffett was very close plus the staff was exceptional. Definitely worth returning for.

    We had visited Haliimaile General Store years ago so decided to have lunch there again on this visit to Maui. Just like our long ago visit, we very much enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. My husband enjoyed the crusted fish dish and I enjoyed the fish tacos…the pineapple cake dessert was so yummy! The background music was a great 70’s playlist that added to the laid back atmosphere in the restaurant. Upcountry Maui is lovely to visit…we suggest a reservation at Haliimailee General Store as they are usually quite busy.
