Great views, great service. Overall nice place to hang out. 🍻
Great service, very attentive even in these weird days for dining out, food and beer were both delicious.
The drinks were amazing. I had the tres commons cocktail. We also had the pork belly plate which was filling and delicious. The ambiance was nice and low-key. We went there at 6:30pm. We also had great service.
Great place & food was excellent!
We had the salmon & fish & chips.
Great service and food!
Had an amazing time with my wife on the second floor balcony. The food was surprisingly speedy and really good! The price might be a bit much, but overall very well worth it. The beer is good, and the views of the stadium is eye opening. Can not wait to go back
Worst service ever.
Granted, it was a busy Friday night. But we sat at a table in the corner while two female servers studiously ignored us. Finally had to flag down the hostess to ask to have our server sent over. We had fish and chips. Fish was good. Chips were inedibly salty. Would not recommend.
We went here with our two children before Monster Jam. It was really nice, it has a nice view and is close to the stadium. The food was really good and we would go there again for sure.
Love this place. Good food, good beer in a great atmosphere.
Excellent food and beer. Loved the décor and atmosphere. Pretzel bites were more like little rolls all soft inside - delicious!
Really good food, great service and reasonable price - not the cheapest, but the food was worth it - high quality, very tasty and nice atmosphere.
Had a great experience here, because it was slow, service was a little slow but understandable. Love this place
There were five of us guys, loved the place and feel, but were disappointed by the food. Two orders of Fish & Chips were in the fryer way too long, as were the fries. Two of us had the steak sandwiches, and steak was over cooked and dry. One buddy did like his breakfast burrito, and the beers and service were good. More attention should be given to the food, and if so, this place could be a good find!
They gave us a seat on the porch & it was great! Nice breeze, nice drinks (happy hour!) and nice appetizers before the baseball game!! Loved it! Will come back!
Great location, atmosphere was beautiful , beer & food awesome. Will definitely be back!
Good beers. Cool atmosphere. Food was good but not great.
We love sitting on the outdoor patio upstairs. The staff was great and we enjoyed the selections of beer. And our food was quite delicious too.
This was my second time to eat at Half Door BC. We sat outside on the upper level, be aware that you may be in the blazing sun if opt for outside seating. We asked the hostess for a shady table but none was available. We got there about 3 PM. They don’t offer dinner selections until 4 so we got appetizers and drinks and waited until 4 to order dinner..There is a good selection of brews; wine and mixed drinks are also available. We ordered pretzel bites and truffle fries as appetizers, both were tasty. My friends opted for Shepherds Pie and I got the fish & chips. Shepherds Pie was the tastier option. The fish was heavily breaded and the fries paled in comparison to the truffle fries. It’s very close to Petco and is a wonderful place to get a meal before walking in to a concert or game. Prices are reasonable.
Very good house brewed beer!
There was no host, open seating. There were no tables. Food was cheap because we didn’t eat anything. Went somewhere else, won’t be returning.
OH MY GAHHH the goat cheese balls were amazing!!!!!!! Bringing everyone I know back to this place to try them. Their IPA selection was delicious as well.
We were there for dinner/happy hour before a Padres game on. Friday night. We made reservations and were seated right away (definitely worth it on a game night). We sat on the deck outside of the bar, so things got a little loud with a couple of bachelor parties moving through. But our service was great, food and beer were excellent, and the location to everything downtown can’t be beat. It’s definitely worth a visit.
Stopped by for a bite to eat before going to the ballgame! Great food and atmosphere!
Ricas hamburguesas y excelente cerveza
I was by myself on a business trip with a close to dead phone. They completely accommodated my request to be by a power outlet and Ryan was not annoyed at all that I was a single at a 4 top right after a Padres game ended. Great food and great beer. Always my go to when I’m in San Diego.
I love this place! Great selection of beers... great service. And the food is amazing.
Not many options. Bloody Mary is packed with horseradish.
Awesome location, great food, great beers! Can’t wait to go back.
Nice atmosphere and decent service &
It was a great place for casual dining. Good food and service.
We went right after the San Diego half marathon so they were busy, but.....service was really really slow. I expected it to be delayed, but not to the extent that it was. Waited 30 mins before we even saw our server for drink orders. 20 mins until drinks received at which time we placed food orders too. 45 mins for food. That was way longer than expected. Also had to ask for lots of things (utensils, napkins, sugar for coffee, hot sauce, salt/pepper) whereas I'd expect some of those things should have been supplied pre-ask. Food was good, but nothing spectacular. Ambiance was really great and the hostess was the sweetest ever! she went out of her way to make us feel welcome and to seat us quickly (haha, maybe too quickly because the server staff/kitchen had a hard time keeping up).
Always a fun time! Great food, drinks and service
Great service, very accommodating, outstanding food and huge huge selection of
What an awesome find! We were on a short getaway and it was near our hotel so we made a reservation and loved it so much we went again the next night!! The selection of drinks was great and the food was so delicious. We had sausage rolls and shepherds pie...yummy!! The music was great. The wait staff was on top of things and really took care of us. If you don’t go check this place out you’ll really be missing out!!
We absolutely loved Half Door! Great beers, great food, and one of my favorite beer scenes I’ve been to. Feels like a European pub with a west coast influence. Such a fun environment. Make sure to get the fried goat cheese and the fish and chips—you won’t be disappointed!
Besides beer they have a full bar. A good view of Petco Park from the roof top. Good place to be casual and enjoy drinks with comfort food. Lunch with friends was perfect.
Half Door Brewing Company was a nice place to meet up with colleagues after a long conference. The happy hour drinks/food special was a nice surprise and we enjoyed most of the food. It was really loud (even upstairs) and despite shutting doors, it was really chilly so bring a sweater/jacket to sit indoors.
Great atmosphere, food, and beer. High attention to detail on all fronts. We ordered the fish and chips and salad to share - generous sizes. Also the flourless chocolate cake for the table, was dense and delicious, glad we got one to share because it’s large.
HDBC was a delightful find! We sat outdoors at a table where we could see the stands at Petco. The server was wonderful and knowledgeable. The food was top end bar fair. Great beer selection with some really unique items. HDBC was great place to have lunch in San Diego.
Drinks are a bit pricey, $10 for a cocktail in a tiny glass but it is downtown. We have gone before Padres games since it is a short walk to Petco. It's nice to sit outside on the balcony and people watch. Service is good. The 2-4 top tables are small so you can't order too many drinks or plates to share.
