Need to book at 12:00 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
Excellent Chef who is very creative and who uses beautiful, well sourced , healthy ingredients from local farms ! Knowledgeable, friendly staff . Fair prices
Great place for meals before or after events at the Knight Theater, just across the street. Food and service fantastic. In-door and outdoor dining, great atmosphere, just above the Mint Museum.
Conner, our waiter.....FABULOUS! Food.....FABULOUS! Beautiful place!
The food was fantastic and the service was as well. We really enjoyed the restaurant and will be back frequently.
Wonder creative food and great service! Love the wine selections too!
Amazing night - our server did a fabulous job of timing every piece of our experience. Never needed a thing - they were always a step ahead. Food was amazing!! Highly recommend - especially if you're going to a show or other event nearby.
My mother and I dined at Halcyon before the symphony. We have been before and both times found it very convenient to park below, take the elevator upstairs to Halcyon then just cross the street to the Knight. The atmosphere is open, light but at the same time warm and welcoming. We like the food choices, healthy and wholesome and very finely prepared. The warm kale and faro salad was a wonderfully flavorful surprise they split it between two bowls for us and it was a perfect portion. We also split a rack of lamb which was plenty for both of us light eaters and dressed with a fresh, flavorful vegetable medley. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. We will be back.
Pre concert dinner. Food was tasty and service excellent. Loud after work crowd at the bar was not great, but they nicely accommodated us with a table further away.
Talisah, our waitress, was lovely and the food fantastic. Surprised to see it was relatively quiet on a Thursday night - definitely worth seeking out.
Halcyon consistently serves great food. Servers are friendly and attentive.
Love this place. Great for a date and great for a business lunch or dinner.
Great place for Sunday brunch or a week day meal
Lamb and flounder overcooked
Scott was a great server. Food was excellent and we were well taken care of. Beautiful quiet patio. Can’t wait to come back!
Did not realize that they are on limited menu after 3pm but the shrimp toast was very filling.
The food was fantastic but the service did not match the price tag.
Lovely service and environment, and the food was delicious. They easily accommodated my gluten-free requests.
Excellent fresh food! Beautiful decor & colors both in the space and our plates/utensils.
The only thing is that it is slightly pricey for the small (but filling) portions sizes.
Great food and reasonably priced wines! Their fried oysters were fantastic!
Absolutely love Halcyon - fantastic food, great location and even better service.
BEAUTIFUL venue -but food was tasteless. Granted, we all had vegetable options, but all could have used some spices to give them some flavor.
The ambience is worth going for. My meal (the scallops) was nice but nothing spectacular. The scallops were done perfectly but the corn/gcalion sautés was heavier on the scallion than I would have liked. My husband really liked his entree (the chicken). We ordered the Shishito peppers to share and the peppers were underdone, but still good. Overall I’ve definitely had better dining experiences, especially at this price point. But the terrace overlooking the city is lovely and it was a quiet time at the restaurant so it felt laid back and intimate. I would go back for drinks and small plates on the terrace and maybe even try dinner again another season if they changed their menu accordingly.
This is the third time I have been to Halcyon. Amazing! Only issue is parking (lot full) but that’s not the restaurants fault ;)
Overpriced for the quality of the food. Four for brunch, and we were all underwhelmed. Kudos to Connor whose service and attention were excellent. The decor and ambiance were lovely, and, fortunately, the noise level was moderate, since there did not appear to be much in the way of absorbing loud noise. Unfortunately, Halcyon fell short of my expectations since I had previously read some good reviews.
Good food and atmosphere before a theatre show. Wished the music was a bit lower. It was hard to hear my dinner partner talk across the table. Friendly and efficient staff. Would love to eat there again.
We were dining at Halcyon before a show at the Knight Theater and worried a bit about slow service given some of the prior reviews on Open Table. However, the service was prompt and absolutely excellent (special thanks to our server Mel)! The food also was delicious, and very well-prepared. We will return. Halcyon’s city view is also gorgeous.
Food was good not great. Food seemed to take longer than necessary to prepare. Service was attentive.
Best meal we've had in a long time! Superb flavor profiles!
Wow! The food was exceptional and our server, Anne, was very responsive when we told her we had theater to attend that night. We’ll be going back.
Neighbors getting together before a show
The food and service were great. There was a leak from the over head AC unit that was dripping really bad on to our clothes. You may want to move the tables over so condensation doesn't get on people or their food.
I was disappointed that the dishes I was expecting to order were no longer available. Based on the new menu, I will be looking for another restaurant when I go to the Knight Theater.
Limited menu and catch of the day was unavailable on a Thursday night. Food was overall good but the chicken liver lettuce wrap was very spicy and this was not even hinted at in the description. Cocktail list was quite nice. This place has a great view/location.
So crowded due to a play next door that many diners were going to attend. My peach julep was missing some ingredients so I sent it back and ordered a glass of wine. Salads were late coming out and our entree arrived very soon after. Waiter was very nice and didn’t charge for the bad drink or the salads and brought out complimentary corn bread. They were definitely trying to compensate.
My salad was delicious, however the corn bread contained jalapeños and my shrimp dish also turned out to be spicy as well. I don’t care for hot spicy foods, so those were disappointing.
Halcyon is usually a special experience, so I was disappointed. I won’t try to eat there prior to a play again. They had to many people to feed in a short time.
Very nice charred kale salad. Red snapper addition was excellent. Servers was attentive and made sure we made it to the show on time.
Food was good. Kitchen was slow. Our group requested to be finished in time to make the play at Knight Theatre. We had a 5:45 reservation but, our party was not complete until 6:00. We should have had plenty of time to get our meal, eat, and get to the play.
We ended up being late for the play. Disappointed!!!
Always a great choice. This time I had a Faro and crispy Kale salad with Chicken added. Was amazing!
Our first Time to Halcyon. We had lunch on Saturday, August 3. The ambience, the view and the food were all good. However the service and the arrival of our entrees were quite slow.
We went during Sunday brunch and were quickly seated (we had reservations) and it was not at all crowded. I really like the view and location of Halcyon. However, I was otherwise underwhelmed by the food and service. Here are my gripes: Coffee refills only happened upon the diners request. My meat on my lamb sausage pita was cold and the overall dish lacked flavor. When I commented on this to the server, I received absolutely no response. My side was not served with my meal. When I inquired about my potatoes, I was corrected: "Your meal didn't come with potatoes, it comes with fries." (Hmm...okay, fries are potatoes---but either way, you didn't bring my side with my meal.) The dessert was served straight from the refrigerator so the creaminess was lost and it was so cold you couldn't get your folk to go through without "shattering" the top layer and sending the pie flying. And last, the manager was not having a good day. My friend had dropped the bill folder on the floor. We were sitting at a table with high seats, and she is an older woman with back issues. As the manager walked by she POLITELY asked him if he would hand her the folder. He was not appreciative of the request and gave her a rather curt response. His irritation was noticed by all at the table. The good: Again, location and view. Food: The bacon and pork belly BLT, chicken liver lettuce wraps and nectarine tart received high marks. Bottom line: most of the reviews for Halcyon have been favorable enough, so I will try them again on a different day with a different menu. Unless the restaurant is dirty and the waitstaff and servers are epic fails, I do believe in second chances.
Interesting flavors and well worth the price. Would definitely revisit. Loved the decor.
